Ron looked at Luna who was reading the Quibbler up-side-down. The two of them were sitting outside the school grounds, next to the lake. Ron was doing his charms homework and Luna was trying to figure out the newest spell in her magazine.
“How so?” Ron asked the odd witch.
“Well,” Luna said, a dazed look in her eyes. “The sun and soon are both big and bright and we can’t really take our eyes off them. But the stars aren’t as big or bright so it’s so much easier to ignore them, especially when the sun and moon are so much brighter."
Ron wasn’t liking where this analogy was going. But it was Luna, so it couldn’t be that bad, right? Still, he felt disappointed that that’s what she thought about him.
"But those stars? They do shine brightly. And when it’s dark, they shine the brightest. We go out of our way to go to darker places to stargaze, because even if some people see stars as smaller and lesser suns and moons, the stars are still so bright and beautiful.”
Luna was now looking at Ron intensely, Quibbler forgotten. Ron had also abandoned his homework to stare at her. “You- you seem to like the star-” Ron started but was cut off by Luna’s soft lips pressing against his. After a few minutes they ended the small kiss, giggling
