I was scrolling through the MBTI hashtag when I came across this post, and I couldn’t stress more how misguided this is.
Firstly, Si users are commonly stereotyped as being stubborn. Why? Because it tends to compare with past experiences. But does that even lead to the logical conclusion that they’re stubborn? No. Yes, they may prefer tried-and-tested methods, but if you can prove that a new method is better, I’m sure many would accept it. Many of my Si-dom/aux friends are actually more flexible than most people give Si users credit for. Besides, has it ever occurred to you that by that logic, Ni users can also be stereotyped as stubborn for having convergent thinking and having a singular end goal in mind? Of course not, because intuitives are inherently superior and are not subject to the same questioning as sensing types, right?
Secondly, if anything, theoretically Se users would be sensitive to subtle physical hints, and it’s the lower Se users who would be oblivious to them. If you mean verbal hints, I hardly think MBTI can account for that. And if you think you can communicate telepathically, well done. A round of applause for you, because you can achieve your lifelong dream of avoiding small talk like the plague for the rest of your life, since you’d never have to talk to anyone ever again. What a wonderful life you’d have. /s
Thirdly, I like how noxious behaviour was completely equated with being a sensor. Of course intuitives can do no wrong! Of course your disinterest in other people automatically means that if others talk about people then they are the ones who have a problem! Of course other people must conform to your standards, or else their behaviour is horrible! Of course you think that your thoughts can always be transmitted to other people! How self-absorbed does one need to be to be able to spew such nonsense?
Lastly, ability to say anything interesting - honestly, need I say more? That entire paragraph is just pure, utter lies. Sense of humour being a criterion for being a superior being? What a joke. “This is all that sensors want for social interaction - to surround and entertain each other.” Get off your high horse and recognise that sensors have the ability to have incisive insights and have deep relationships and think about theories. I’m sure many can attest to this. Stop portraying sensors as this shallow, superficial, hedonistic caricature - a lesser being to intuitives.
Sorry if I came off as abrasive or inflammatory in this post, and it’s also not an insult to intuitives. I just decided that I had had enough of all this sensor discrimination, and I’m taking my stand against it, as conflict-averse as I may be.
MBTI is a tool to understand each other better, not to spread discrimination, so please. For the last time, sensors are NOT inferior to intuitives. Sensors just have a different way of interacting with the world, and there’s nothing innately wrong with that. So stop tarring all sensors with the same discriminating brush. We’re much less two-dimensional than you think.
Oh, and your “#inspire” and “#motivate” hashtags? What an insult to those very terms.
“We intuition types” Don’t speak for me, man. I am an iNtuitive Type and, to be fair, I love Sensors, and I don’t feel represented in this sentence. I happen to have almost all iNtuitive friends (except one ISFP), but I wish I had more Sensors in my squad. Also… having developed Se is my dream. And Si is useful too! Now get away from my face.
