Yeah,this is totally happening. Doing this right, from the start. Considered a CYMA, but I know I’d just be wanting this E&L. Damn.
So, I this was the result of the “teaser” I posted about a week ago. BBwarz is serious business, so I needed a serious overhaul to my rifle’s paint scheme.
Painted using VHT “burnt copper” engine paint as a base coat, then sponged using rustoleum satin black, finished with krylon matte clear-coat to tone down the shine juuust a little bit.
What brought this on/why the hell did you do this rifle is fine; I’m not incredibly sure. I really never was overly pleased with my last paintjob, and I had grown tired of it. I wanted something drastically different, and something that would be unique on the field, without being over the top. After all, this is just airsoft, so you can’t be afraid to have fun with it.

Game tomorrow. Meeting a PSN friend for the first time in-person, which is pretty cool. Other friends are tagging along also; apparently one recently got a 249. Jeezus.
Anywho, supposed to snow a little bit tonight. Not enough to justify “snowsoft”, but more like “reallydamncoldsoft”. Should be fun!
Haven’t posted on this account in months. Perusing the tag/recent posts a bit, and I see everything is relatively unchanged; as much squabbling between the RS and Airsoft communities as expected. Sigh.
Anywho, I’ll be playing on Saturday with some friends who I’ve known on PSN for quite a while, without ever knowing they were local. Small world.
I’m a horrible blog owner, I know. I’ve been playing somewhat frequently recently, every few weeks. Just occurred to me to stop by and see if I had missed anything.
Match tomorrow, going with my dad and a friend. Supposed to have the first freeze of the year overnight, so it might be a bit chilly tomorrow. Supposed to be sunny and nice all day though, so I’m debating if I want to take my camera. I’ll probably end up selfish and play all day.
In terms of loadout, I think I’ve finally got things all worked out. Not using my chest panel anymore; I only run three mags, two of which I’ve taped together for rapid reloads, and I’ll keep the third in my back pocket. Found my old hip holster, popped a few seams on it and then mended them at a new spot through a lovely mix of friction tape and industrial staples. (Judge me, it fits the MK23 perfectly, so I’m content.) Literally nothing slowing me down now, so I’m set to outmaneuver everyone else on the field. Feeling good about tomorrow.
So, yesterday was pretty badass. The day started off kind of suckish; the weather was bad, and there were two guys in particular who weren’t calling hits, at all. They were wearing ushankas and doing really shitty Russian accents. I myself had several run-ins with them, including the very first game of the day, which one of them proceded to tell me I didn’t hit him after a three-second burst from 30 feet. Yeah.
Bitching about petty stuff aside, the weather cleared up around noon, and it got really sunny and nice, and the tide totally changed. We had lost each of the three games before that point, but we came back strong and won everything else for the rest of the day, after that. Played some semi-auto games, which are fun for me, because everyone looses their minds when restricted to semi. Yesterday was the kind of day that makes me wish I had a go-pro. I even had guys on the opposing team complementing me after some of the games!
Also, my friend and I both won a 12 pack of thunder-b shells! Not the core, or anything, but I may have to pick the core up and try them out. (Or, y'know, just sell them).
All in all, I wish all games days could be like that.
Rainy day airsoft, here we go! Hopefully it’ll keep the assholes away (pssht, if only.) Not going to use the 3-12x after all; too clunky to mess with, and I’d probably end up babysitting the sight rather than actually getting stuff done. Stickin’ with irons, keeping it aggressive.

Probably going to buy some scope mounts this week and try out the 3-12 optic my dad uses on his Remington, see how it does for airsoft.
Honestly, it probably wouldn’t be too difficult make something similaron an AEG, for simplicity; VTAC/Troy rail or similar, SOPMOD/crane stock, and short inner barrel with silencer that extends through the rail. Throw on a T1 or a RMR and you’re good to go.
Of course, I can only dream…
