I always find it very funny (AND EXTREMELY HEARTWARMING) when I comment on someone’s fic that I think is really good and definitely better than I could do, saying that I like it and they reply with “oh! I’ve read your stuff and it’s so good! This means a lot to me!!”

OK I HAVE. QUIRIN AND ULLA BRAIN SO I KINDA WANNA?? TALK ABT ULLAS GENERAL REP IN ALL THE KINGDOMS AND QUIRIN AND ULLA FIRST MEETING

So like. Ulla is very infamous. Through every kingdom. She has wanted posters in basically every crook and nanny of any existing kingdoms.

Except like its not for anything serious like murder or assault. Its just theft. And loitering. And destruction of private and/or public property.

So basically everyone knows her name as the crazy woman who is constantly causing explosions and chaos. And also just being a general nuisance.

So like. After Quirin kind of moves away from the dark kingdom and settles into Old Corona and becomes their leader, he catches wind of said woman causing problems and sets out to find her and have a chat.

After asking around,, he finally finds her… house. If you can even call it that. It’s sloppy and the craftsmanship is awful. Its some old log cabin that looks like it definitely has leaks.

But that’s besides the point. He knocks but relieves no response so he kind of looks around until he spots a woman with fluffy red-ish/orange hair crouched down.

“Hey! Are you–”

He stops as the woman stands up, turning to him holding a straight-up pigeon in her bare hands with the most casual look as if it were normal.

Yup… that’s her.

Quirin stands for a minute before they kinda talk a bit. Quirin explains the situation and Ulla promises she won’t disturb old Corona anymore (she is lying because she’s a bastard)

Anyway, they get in the topic of the house and Quirin is like “Jeez, this craftsmanship is shotty… barely any stability and lots of cracks… this thing would collapse in minutes. Whoever did this is a real idiot with architecture.”

And Ulla is like. “Wow… okay. Rude?”

And Quirin pauses and kinda panics like I DIDNT KNOW IT WAS YOU IM SO SORRY MAAM

She tells him if he knows so much why doesn’t he just do it.

Then, he genuinely offers to help her build a new house.

She agrees.

And as they build the house together slowly day by day, Quirin definitely sees what people mean when they say this woman is crazy… but he finds it kind of endearing?

By the end of it, Ulla has a much sturdier and larger house (he even built an extra room if Ulla wants to keep her pigeons somewhere where they can free fly [the meeting was half a mix-up. She takes in Injured pigeons and other birds and cares for them since they can’t return to the wild. She is actually just unhinged insane though]) and Quirin feels like He and Ulla are friends now.

Ulla… kind of plans to keep her promise now. She’ll do her best to not disturb Old Corona, but if an explosion goes off near Old Corona then uhhh not her problem ok? ♡

Its pretty normal from then. Quirin and Ulla run into one another occasionally when she comes into town to buy stuff.

She always runs back with some normal stuff yknow,,, food, drinks, repair items occasionally,, all that jazz. But she also always runs back with chemicals and other stuff that certainly no normal person needed and certain something that was not being sold legally in the town.

One day he manages to catch her and ask her what all that stuff is for.

She smiles really excited and tells him to come with and see.

This… feels like a disastrous idea, but consider: Woman pretty.

So he follows her and she shows him something really small but it seriously impresses him.

She makes a lantern, but when she goes to light it she adds… something and Quirin stares in awe as the color changes. She shows him multiple colors before finally blowing them all out and not releasing them. She explains she’s waiting for missing princess’ birthday to send them off.

She explains how all these colors have different hopeful meetings and she wants to give the princess hope.

Ulla is a crazy asa bitch with a heart of gold and oh what do you know, Quirin apparently has a thing for that.

They spend the rest of the night messing with other colors they could make and I just. Bonding moment

So the next time Quirin goes to visit Ulla she’s crying. She tries to hide but Quirin instantly notices and asks her whats wrong.

Tw animal death

She shakily replies one of the pigeons died.

Quirin just kind of. Goes “Oh no…” very genuinely and softly, pulling her into a hug. He knew how important those pigeons were to her. They were basically her family. Her kids.

She reminisces her good times and how he was like her baby and Quirin quietly listens and let’s her mourn.

At the end of it he asks. “What was his name?”

“Varian…” she sighs. He was the oldest one. The one she had the longest.

They spend the rest of the night in each other’s comfort.

THAT PIGEON SHE WAS SO SO CLOSE TO HIM SO WHEN VARIAN WAS BORN HE WAS SO SWEET AND REMINDED HER SO MUCH OF HIM AND SHE STILL NAMES HIM AFTER IT…… COS…. ITS ALMOST LIKE REINCARNATION TO HER… HE CAME BACK TO HER…

IM NOT. NOT SURE WHERE ELSE TO GO THO… Also wanna add Ulla teaching little Varian how to change the flame color of a lantern  (if you listen closely, you can hear Quirin yelling “WITH ADULT SUPERVISION” desperately in the background.) and even after his mom left and after she died, he still does it every day on raps’ birthday. He even shows it to Raps and explains about his mom and she reminisces about how she saw them every year and loved them. Varian shows them and Raps shares it with everyone in the castle so the tradition can be passed down generation to generation.

strangely, even tho shes not there, Varian thinks his mom would be proud of him.

was talking to Glace and. yeah I think Ulla was 100% batshit before the library. She only got a God complex from being in the library alone for so long.

Ulla normally: I am better than normal people.

Ulla after 17 years of solitary confinement: I am better than God.

SUPER COOL HOT TAKE OF THE CENTURY But I don’t think I believe in being stupid. That sounds. weird, but what I mean is, I don’t think anyone is stupid, really. Who’s to say someone’s knowledge is or isn’t as valuable as someone else’s because it doesn’t benefit you or others? I think everyone had unique knowledge on things with unique perspectives, and that, in and of itself, it’s smart. Whether it’s academics, or writing skill, or social skills, or even small things like your interests, I think everyone is smart in different ways, and I think that’s really important. If everyone fit one exact box of what is considered “smart” we’d never get anything done, or we’d all live very very boring lives with no need for certain people to have specific jobs.

Being stupid is a lie made up by rich people, parent, school, overzealous people, etc to make others think that different and unique knowledge is less valuable than other sets of knowledge when it isn’t…

and people think I’m crazy when I say this, but I think every single type of knowledge is important. Yes this includes random facts you know about your favorite animal. Yes this includes memorizing a list of your favorite items in a game. Yes this includes knowing funny facts about how food is made. Literally any small thing is valuable and interesting. Human nature is naturally curious, so any type of knowledge is valuable really.

another thing I like to add on, is I really don’t think anyone is 100% stupid, because to be stupid would mean to have a complete and utter lack of any knowledge, and that’s just not how human brains work. Experience is knowledge, understanding is knowledge, hobbies are knowledge. Everyone knows something.

Even if it isn’t something you’ll use in your every day life, it’s still enriching and fun to just learn some random facts or about interests of your loved ones! (Also fun fact: It’s healthy for your brain to be constantly learning even if it’s something you don’t use often or even at all! It exercises muscles in your brain and without that constant influx of learning your brain pathways would deteriorate!)

just think that people don’t understand that being stupid is a farce made up to make people conform and learn things that will only benefit majority communities and capitalism.  No one truly thinks deep down why they are calling people stupid and if it’s really true.
Why do we call people stupid? A surface level answer would probably be that “everyone else can do this, but they can’t!” and again, I ask, why is that stupid? That’s not to say they lack the “proper” intelligence to  carry out the same tasks most people can, moreso that their strengths lie elsewhere in equally valuable skillsets. Even if someone were to be “"stupid”“ about something, that wouldn’t therein cancel out their other skills and knowledge and to imply that is very odd and ignorant. No one is stupid, deep down to their core. People need to stop thinking as stupid as a defining personality trait, and more of perhaps an adjective to describe minor things instead of people.

I think a lot of people seem to have a bit of a "pack mentality” for lack of better term, when it comes to these things, which can be useful at times! But just as much as every pack member needs to benefit the pack, they’re all individuals still. Humans are pack animals, but we are not a hivemind.

The whole “just scroll if you don’t agree” argument is for like. Opinions on whos the best character in a show; You guys know that right? Not fucking moral arguments you weirdos???

Like im sorry someone has to tell you this, but I dont know why you’re posting your argument to a public social media if you’re going to get so extremely mad that people would even dare to respond.
