In support of the #MakeSolo2Happen movement, I made concept posters for potential sequels or what I’d call the Crimson Dawn trilogy (SOLO being part 1).

can anyone please explain to me why they cast Alden Ehrenreich of all people to play young Han Solo?

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the trailer. There’s obviously a lot to look forward to with this upcoming movie, and I’m sure it’ll be worth the watch. But if I’m being honest, the casting choice for Han Solo is going to be distracting, as he looks nothing like Harrison Ford.

Now, to be fair, only Harrison Ford is worthy of playing Han Solo. He embodies that character the way no one else ever will. I acknowledge this is a difficult thing for casting directors to manage, as it’s a role with big shoes to fill. I get that. I know it won’t be perfect, no matter who they cast. I was willing to accept that.

But could they not at least have cast someone who actually looks like Harrison Ford???

For me, Anthony Ingruber immediately comes to mind:

Not only does this guy look like Harrison Ford, he sounds like him:

Not to mention that Anthony Ingruber’s face shape, body type, and height are much more similar to Harrison Ford’s, whereas Alden Enrenreich has a much shorter stature than either of the aforementioned actors, and does not have the same face shape or body type as Harrison Ford.

Ugh, this basically turned into a rant…

I actually liked Solo.  I thought the story was great and I like Alden’s portrayal of a young Han Solo. So I’m rather annoyed with KK and DLF for saying it was a “mistake” to recast him and dismissing his contribution to the franchise.
