Today is the 25th Anniversary of the article, My life as an Amoeba by Zoe O’Reilly.

First published in 1997 on Starnet, the article was one of the first articles about asexuality, and the comment section became a kind of ace community and an example of the earliest ace communities where people found each other before there was anywhere else for them to meet.

Both of these would help to pave the way for ace communities online and bring more awareness to asexuality.
