Located in the ancient city of Thysdrus, today El Djem, Tunisia, the amphitheater is the largest in Africa and the 4th in the world after Rome, Capua and Pozzuoli. One of the best preserved, although part of its stones were used to build the city of El Djem, you can still see part of the reliefs and sculptures on the façade, the lion pits and a system of pipes and cisterns that collected the rain water. Built in 238 AD, at the time of Emperor Maximin the Thracian. With a capacity for 35 thousand spectators.
The Great Jaguar, pyramidal temple erected in the Great Plaza of Tikal, in the year 734, to house the remains of an illustrious ruler of the city: Jasaw Chan K'awiil I.
