The ninth episode of Aharen is Indecipherable was wonderful. While it’s been implied for awhile, it’s very heartwarming to see Reina and Raidou finally confess their feelings for one another, even if we didn’t get to hear it. Beyond that, the episode was the typical set of humorous bits as the larger friend group go out to the woods to camp. Right, and the teachers, I guess there’s something going on between these two, even if this moment is more Toubaru dealing with her professing emotions over Reina and Raidou. There isn’t much time left for the season, wonder what else we’ll end up doing here.

Aftera week offShikimori’s Not Just a Cutie returned with the seventh episode this week and we learned how the two of them became a couple! Before we get to that part of the episode, it’s also worth mentioning we see Kamiya reappear here, we last saw her during the sports day. Turns out she’s kind of a friend to Yuu, the two of them kinda hitting it off at an earlier time in the library. Anyway, she asks how the two of them came to be a couple, and that gave us the sweet story of the Yuu and Micchon getting identical #s on hearts that a school event says leads to the two becoming a couple. They’re just precious. There’s a key detail at the end of the episode that should make next week interesting too! Looking forward to what happens, and really curious who, if anyone, Kamiya has feelings for.

The ninth episode of Aharen is Indecipherable had an illness passing between our two friends, leading to a whole slew of events. This began with Raidou, causing him to get oddly alluring to everyone in reach. When it moves on to Reina, it isn’t so much about her as Raidou being asked to take her assignment sheets, which in turn gave us the opportunity to meet her younger sister. As part of this, we learn Reina is a bit talkative about Raidou at home, leading his siblings to wander what exactly is happening between the two of them. While it’s been modestly implied to date, kinda curious if we get an actual confession between the two before the season ends. Another fun episode, more with how oddly expressive Reina’s younger sister ended up being.

The eighth episode of Spy x Family introduces us to Yor’s little brother Yuri and it appears the two of them are mighty similar. How so? Well, in their public facing side, they’re both a bit airheaded. While Yor is generally oblivious, Yuri’s equal nature is more due to his complex about his sister, whether it be protecting her or just accepting her word blindly. In private, each of them hold much more sinister roles, Yor being the assassin we’re already aware of, and Yuri actually being a member of the secret police with a fierce edge beneath his cute veneer. It’s a hilarious episode, more so because of how Yuri wants Loid and Yor to prove they’re actually a couple. How’s that go? Well, we gotta wait until next week to see.

The fifth episode of A Couple of Cuckoos continues to tie things together as Nagi gets to spend a little time with Hiro and Erika appears at his school. It’s hard not to feel for the guy, the girl he actually likes is engaged, and the girl he’s engaged to is kind of a handful. That alone would be enough, but now the two of them are at the same school and becoming friends? Chaos. While it seems the three will only get closer from here, wonder if/when everyone’s romantic connections here become clear. This show still isn’t what I expected at the start of the season, but it’s shaping up to be a curious mess to keep watching.

Over on @anipast it’s the Ouran episode where we learn about how Kyoya and Tamaki originally meet. It’s a nice look in on the rather sad world of younger Kyoya, people commonly seeing him only for his family’s power, while he lived under the looming shadow of his brothers and his father’s expectations. Bring in Tamaki, who Kyoya’s father wants him to befriend for political reasons. What seems like a simple enough task spirals out of controls as Tamaki, well, does what Tamaki does. He asks so much of Kyoya, and Kyoya’s tendencies demand that he try to appease them, driving him mad. It escalates to a key moment where Kyoya finally snaps out of his lull, showing his true side to Tamaki. In all, it’s a great episode, and explains a lot why Kyoya continue’s to deal with the king’s crazy demands. I’m almost to the end, gonna be sad to finally wrap this up.

The eighth episode of Spy x Family gives us Anya’s first day at Eden College where she attempts to apologize to Damian, as well as face the rest of her classmates. While it seems word got around about what she did, causing most to give her distance, Anya has a friend with Becky. That said, Becky also gets in the way of Anya apologizing to Damian, prolonging the day. Right, and Loid can’t help but get involved too, hinting to Anya all day that she needed to apologize. While she finally did it, let’s say the results are surprising. We end the episode with Loid pushing Anya a little too much on studying, leading Yor to try and calm him down, giving him the perspective he needed. Can’t help but enjoy this family, and it looks like Yor’s brother gets involved next episode. Wonder how he’ll take all this?

The eight episode of Aharen is Indecipherable was a fun one as we get to spend some time in the imagination of their teacher, then end the episodes with a fireworks festival. To say things are out of control within the teacher’s head would be an understatement, tons of situations playing out and driving her to lose far too much blood, though fortunately she has a friend to help her recover. The festival is a fun foray for the whole group of friends, plus an appearance of Futaba to mix things up. All around, things keep chugging along here, looking forward to see what’s next. Oh, and calm down Toubaru.

The eleventh episode of Aharen is Indecipherable is another entertaining set of skits as snow creates the opportunity for fun in an igloo and, oddly enough, it seems Raidou and Reina go out on a date. Well, I say date, but they don’t seem aware it’s a date in the way they would. The only mystery here is what’s Mitsuki is up to, that’s teased at the end and something’s gotta happen next episode.

The seventh episode of A Couple of Cuckoos felt like where things began to get complicated. Feelings between Nagi and Hiro, while complicated, have felt like they’re there and worth exploring. Now, Nagi and Erika has been far more difficult to read so far, but the way the episode ended, well, something’s up. The actual events of the episode were straight forward enough as they set up and then go on a field trip, oddly enough with a tagalong fan of Erika’s. A decent episode, and Hiro seems like she’s having fun as much as she keeps sending confusing signals.

The eighth episode of Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie was one of those that pull at your heartstrings. It’s never easy to have an unrealized love, even more when you’re face to face with the girl that took the guy you wanted. That said, it’s incredibly heartwarming how well this all played out, even if we had to see Kamiya take in some pain in the beginning. She had to listen how Yuu confessed to Micchon, and then have Micchon come and ask for the numbered heart. It’s just one arrow after another - until Micchon finds her on the school roof and basically acknowledges her feelings and openly says she doesn’t want to hurt her. A moment of kindness, even if it’s still a painful end to an unrealized love, but it felt like Kamiya didn’t have to leave completely wounded. The episode ends with Yuu giving Micchon a gift, and a moment of doubt from Micchon that Yuu tries to pull her back up from. They’re all good kids here, and I hope Kamiya makes friends since she seems nice beneath her nerves.

The nineth episode of Spy x Family was a curious one as we start with a kiss and end with our couple actually growing closer. Yuri’s obsession with his sister may be the death of him, but for the night it may have saved Loid and Yor from having to actually go through it with. That said, discovering Yuri was part of the secret police led to Loid questioning Yor, though that got resolved fast enough. An Anya light episode, but nice to spend some time with the parents.
