Utterly charming but with a hint of the bizarre, one model wearing an extraordinary translucent and faintly striped dress which reveals as much as it hides. 

No.1428 in Wilhelm von Gloeden’s catalogue of beautiful pictures.

One of the most sensual and intimate poses photographed by the rather brilliant Guglielmo Plüschow, working in Italy in the late 19th Century. The boy on the right seems to have thrown himself wholeheartedly into the pleasure of kissing, the other appears a little less keen!

While this particular picture from 1875 may not be either romantic or erotic, I thought it far too amusing not to share. And the top-right gent is a bit of a stunner, don’t you think?
