A/N!— this has been sitting in my drafts for a while so i’m posting it! also it’s super early and i’m exhausted, so bear with me while i look through for any grammatical errors

ARMIN would be the type to hold your hand in public. all the time. he isn’t too big on pda but holding hands with you just puts him at ease. also the type to pull your chair closer to him because he loves having you close.

ARMIN would see you struggling with something and immediately try to give you a solution. it can be irritating when you want to wallow in self pity, but he’s very patient and very motivating, so he finds ways to help you with your problems before they get the best of you.

ARMIN very happily lends you any item of clothing you desire you he adores seeing you in his clothes. hoodie? no problem. t-shirts? of course! boxers? why not!

ARMIN prefers to study with you in the room. he doesn’t know what it is but just your presence makes him want to work to be the best him.

ARMIN takes you on what appear to be spontaneous dates but they are very meticulously planned by him. most of them are very chill like coffee dates, beach picnics, sightseeing, etc.

ARMIN loves eating homemade meals with you. he’d be trying to teach himself to cook and you’d shimmy on over to help. the two of you would just spend hours together struggling with the recipe. the food may not come out as expected but just the process of making it with you would make his heart soar.

ARMIN likes when you lay your head on his shoulder. he feels so loved when you’re sleepy and choose to lean on him for support and warmth. he’ll place a gentle kiss on your forehead and let you doze off for a few minutes.

ARMIN is the type to apologize before letting any disagreement escalate into something more serious. he prefers to talk things out from a more logical perspective but he has no problem throwing in the towel if he sees you’re really upset with him. he’ll drop the issue if it means the both of you will calm down and can come back to the problem later.

ARMIN just wants the two of you to grow together, so expect having to crack open your feelings and be vulnerable around each other. it can be extremely intimidating at first, especially if you’re a emotionally closed off, but he just wants to be able to help you through whatever obstacles you have.

ARMIN is an excellent listener, and his memory further proves that. he literally remembers all of the little details with ease. your heart is frequently warmed whenever he brings up something you swore he would’ve forgotten.

ARMIN loves the beach, and he loves you, so expect to be taken to the beach frequently. going to the beach would definitely be a monthly tradition, so the both of you have an opportunity to release some stress together.

all in all, ARMIN is so patient and sweet that having him as a boyfriend would be a literal dream come true.

How you meet

Describing your personality as obsessive would be an understatement. You were a mess of hyperfixations and while that sometimes made issues for certain areas in your life, your career wasn’t one of them. You were incredibly successful and quickly rose to become one of the most sought-after lecturers in your field. At one particular university, there was a wide-eyed student who asked several questions at the end of your talk and as soon as your time was up, he immediately made his way to talk to you. It wasn’t just about the fact that he was interested in your subjects, but he seemed to have the same light in his eyes that you had. Finally, before he had to leave for his classes, you invited him to an opening you had an extra ticket for later that week. He happily accepted.

Where you go on a date

What would be the most exciting place for Armin to go? Obviously it’s the aquarium and you really didn’t realize that when you invited him, but the look on his face when you walked in the building was well worth it. Because it was an opening and not yet available to the public, you both got a personal tour and Armin even got to pet a dolphin. You both ditched the formal dinner and stole a tray of appetizers to eat while you were in the whale room and he talked non-stop about his love of the ocean and science.

Something that goes wrong

Did I mention that you stole wine with those appetizers when you went to the whale room? You ended up making out, getting just past second base when security came in and kicked you guys out.

How they confess

While eating your snacks and watching the whales swimming, Armin realized he was doing most of the talking and got quiet, apologizing for overdoing it. You told him you didn’t mind and he got a look in his eyes and leaned forward, placing a light kiss on your lips before getting shy and turning back to the whales.

What gift they bring you

Armin sees the purpose of giving flowers and chocolates and something you would actually use, but the thing he doesn’t like about those gifts is that they aren’t personal enough and they don’t explain how he really feels. So his gift is a personalized card for you where he fills every open space the card has with the things he loves about you and the way you make him feel. Seriously, the freaking sweetest.
