#armored core
Hey everyone! This month I’m doing a little themed challenge to myself. Each week I’m going to do one illustration of an Armored Core, or any Mecha from the series! Feel free to follow along with me, this is mainly just for fun :) I’ll tag them #ArmoredCore like usual!
i recently revisited the first Armored Core game to see how it holds up against my memory. i used to skip over mission text and dialogue when i was a kid, but now i’m actually somewhat invested in AC’s sparse storytelling
when you get your first couple of mission offers, i kind of thought it was going to be one of those branching morality things, where one mission is clearly immoral, and the other clearly is not- but that’s not really the case, your choice is essentially between strike-breaking and forced eviction. you’re a bastardous tool of the financial elite in either case
and the final kick in the teeth is that, as an independent contractor of sorts, you’re on the hook for your own expenses- ammunition expended, any repairs your mech may need, and collateral damage… and being that this is a brutally difficult FromSoft game, your expenses will probably be so extensive that your pay will be minimal at best
you’re a weapon of capitalist terrorism and you’re not even getting paid well for it. bummer!

Metal Wolf Chaos is a video game (considered to be the most patriotic one ever made) where you play as mech pilot and 47th US President Michael Wilson (Woodrow Wilson’s grand nephew) in a fight against the Vice President turned usurper terror cell leader, liberating captured US cities and blowing up bad guys across the nation. Imagine if Air Force One and Mobile Fighter G Gundam / Robot Jocks / ANY robot movie had a baby, and this is the result.
