Holiday heart syndrome. So named because it usually occurs in patients who don’t drink much in their day to day life, but go on holiday and get completely gazeboed every night, and subsequently get AF or an SVT. 

Generally it resolves on its own and the patients are advised to stop acting like bloody teenagers in Ibiza. 

When I was on CDU I saw a patient with new onset AF, and he had recently come back from Spain. I hadn’t even heard of the above syndrome, so when I went back with the doctor to talk to him we enquired about alcohol consumption. It turned out they had been on a walking holiday and hardly drunk at all. 

Still, I thought it was quite interesting. A useful differential for when you can’t think of any more causes for AF.
