OKAY HERE ME OUT
You know how Matt being in the background of episodes as an NPC is like… our Stan Lee cameo for the show… what if, and hear me out okay…
What if they reveal that’s secretly Artagan in disguise?
Now, I know what you’re saying “but my guy, my man, my friend, that can’t happen, because of canon stuff.” But they’re already condensing some of the show and stuff for the limited run time, so what if they did something clever to where we see this character in the background, that is just a Matt Cameo, yeah, but then they pull the rug out from under our feet and reveal it to be Artagan the whole time? It would be a clever way to pull several different aspects together while simultaneously giving us what we want… plus like… easter egg stuff ya know.
Had an awesome time at the #georgiarenaissancefestival this year as #artagan the ever chaotic, ever fantastic Archfey.
Next time I break this bad boy out I’m talkin’ props. Give away goodies. Pamphlets. Confetti.

Makeup testing for my Archfey #artagan #cosplay
I can’t decide… green with lilac freckles or orange with white? #criticalrole community help! Which one of these looks (with orange brows and green chin stripe) really says “Absolutely No Theater” and “10/10 would choke a half elf”.
This was in fact a quick application, so no judgment on the technique but I need to narrow down a color scheme.

I’ve been waiting years to see a certain archfey again and…… :)
Whatever you do, don’t think about Quay as a precursor for Artagan coming to Exandria and making his first real friend and eventually performing his first genuine act of love under the Moonweaver’s gaze as he lets his friend go to save her. And also not as a precursor to Fearne stumbling out from a door in the woods to Exandria and meeting not one, but two groups of people who love and accept her for her eccentricities and she cares about them back. Just like… don’t think about it, okay?
So this episode was…about 200% more than I was prepared for so here’s a little joke instead of my usual dramatic interpretations~

Happy 7th anniversary to Critical Role and also Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all who celebrate. ☘️ Here’s one of my Green Boys in honor of both events! Sorry it’s the worst and stinkiest of the many Green Boys I cosplay.
Costume fact corner: I wanted to use 2nd hand parts for this costume, so the vest and shirt are both vintage pieces. The vest in particular is so lovely, it was such a great find. I need to resize these pants if I wear this glorious disaster again, and you WILL catch me twirling around cons as him again.
The cloak isn’t fancy, but it IS very big and swooshy, and that’s what matters to meeee. I do have some tiny green beads I might add as trim or something though. What do y'all think?

This is such a dramatic pose for Arty, and I feel like I’m sitting on that boulder in an awkward way, but oof. Maybe the drama is good. I’m into how this turned out, I love wandering through trees looking for a Drama Perch.
