Well, it’s snowing again(!), so I figured why not post my beach-y entry in @deuza_art’s #deuza3k draw this in your style challenge. You know what I almost never draw? Feathered wings. I don’t think I’m particularly good at it, and I still have trouble wrapping my head around wing anatomy and feather direction. I feel like I’ve made a lot of progress in defining my style, especially over the past few months. So I decided the 30th Anniversary of Sailor Moon (can you believe it?!) was the perfect opportunity to take another swing at my Sailor Jupiter (my favorite Sailor Scout) portrait from last summer. I didn’t do anything to the original sketch, I just softened the line work, recolored and re-shaded, and drew in the lightning instead of using a stamp brush. I think it’s much more representative of the look I’ve been developing and I’m much happier with her now.
