#assault rifles
If American politicians do not finally pass the necessary restrictions needed to punish would-be murderers, then the entire country is on its way to Hell. This lack of action is nothing short of sacrificing children to murderers so that politicians and businessmen can get rich. It is a scandal beyond all belief.
“An assault rifle is defined as a cosmetic trait!”
Yeah.
Form follows function.
⠀⠀We talk of sympathy, sorrow, outrage, and calls for action…you know, all the things we all say every time there’s a mass shooting. And then, beyond all reason, we Americans keep electing politicians who vote against even commonsense gun laws.
⠀⠀I imagine what the families of the victims really want to know is— is all this talk merely words without substance? Or, will this time be different? This time, will we actually do something about gun violence? This time, will the sincerity of our words and the depth of our compassion extend all the way to the voting booth?
Which is crazier— Politicians allowing teenagers to buy semi-automatic military assault rifles -or- Voters continuing to elect those politicians and expecting things to change?
