“Any fun plans tonight?” Steve asks as he walks into the living room and you shake your head, pulling your blanket tighter around your shoulders.

“Nope. I’m dead tired and do not plan on leaving this couch anytime in the foreseeable future,” you say and he shakes his head with a chuckle.

“What about for dinner? It’s in 20 minutes,” he says and you glance at the clock.

“Oh wow. I didn’t realize how late it was getting. I’ll be there,” you promise. He nods before walking back towards the kitchen.

req: i was wondering if i could request a natasha x teen daughter reader where the reader has really bad social anxiety please? maybe where the reader was in the red room with natasha but given to hydra once the red room was taken down and natasha has been looking for her ever since she left the red room. on a mission to take down a hydra base natasha finally finds reader, and it’s super emotional for the both of them and they’re just happy to have each other back. natasha knows about readers social anxiety from when she was younger and sees that it’s only gotten worse now, so she’s super sweet and understanding. she saves the reader from the base and comforts her the whole way home because she’s scared of all of the new people also on the jet (the other avengers). the reader lives with natasha at the compound with everyone else and natasha is just great about her social anxiety and never pushes her out of her comfort zone and comforts her when she has panic attacks. sorry if that’s a lot, but thank you so much! i love your fics sooo much, you’re such an amazing writer!!!

notes: i didn’t make them peers in the red room because then they’d have to be around the same ages but i made them meet at the red room. also i didn’t know how to write about her having social anxiety so i hope you don’t mind that i didn’t hope you like this <33

“stop,” madame b’s authoritative voice commanded and all of you stopped dancing. all of your peers seemed to be struggling to stand still on their battered feet, some breathing heavily but who could blame them? you had all been instructed to dance for hours now. you had to dance until you couldn’t anymore.

your head faced madame b but your eyes landed on your best friend, veronika, for a split second. she seemed in pain and you vowed to check on her after whatever announcement your supervisor had for you. you stood tall, clenching your jaw in order to not show that you were in pain or out of breath.

madame b’s gaze flickered to you for a second, her lip lifting up on one side for a brief moment before her face hardened once again.

“i have someone special here today. she’s here to observe your training and if necessary, teach what you girls lack. she has long graduated this academy, please welcome miss natasha romanova.”

you jolted awake, panting hard at the memory that just played in your dreams. you looked around you, seeing the same cell wall you had been put in for the past three years. after the fall of the red room academy where you were from, another organisation came and swooped you in, not wanting to waste your skills. you were the only one they took, having heard much about your abilities and reputation in the red room.

the girls stood all around you and veronika, watching the two of you spar tirelessly after hours of endless ballet. natasha and madame b watched the match closely, eyes trained on your techniques and movements.

after natasha had introduced herself to all of you, madame b had instructed her supposedly two best students—you and veronika— to demonstrate a true spar between skilled assassins.

while you were reluctant to attack your best friend, she had other plans, one that included impressing her idol who stood mere metres away from her. you were shocked when she started attacking you. never had she obeyed a command against you so quick.

you had to put away your initial shock to start attacking back in order to not get hurt by the hands of your own best friend. the look in her eyes was different, almost animalistic. it wasn’t like the one she had when you two were laid in your beds side to side at night, handcuffed to it while you talked about your deepest struggles being in the academy. it wasn’t the same one she had when you reassured her that she was doing okay whenever she said she would never be as good as you were at this whole assassin thing. it wasn’t the same innocently surprised one she had just moments ago when she was addressed as one of madame b’s best students.

this wasn’t your best friend. this was a girl blinded by her desire to impress. she wanted to show natasha that she was the better one out of you two. your heart broke when you saw her desperation. it was obvious in the way she fought you.

it wasn’t long before you had her in a chokehold, the girl struggling to get your grip off of her. your face visibly faltered, eyes tearing up slightly when you heard her whimpers. natasha took notice of this.

your lips were quivering when you turned to madame b. a simple nod from your trainer had you whispering a strained ‘i’m sorry, i love you’ in her ear before you broke her neck. the girl fell limp in your arms, dropping down to the mat, dead. you panted heavily as you stepped away from her body.

“good. this is what i expect of all of you,” madame b turns to your peers, the stone cold look back on her face. “one thing you need to perfect though, y/n, is your emotions. don’t get emotional over things that don’t matter. i saw your inner conflict. veronika would have no reluctancy to end you if you were the one in the chokehold. she was more mentally prepared to be a ruthless assassin. you’re lucky you’re more skilful than she is. she would have no hesitation to kill you, close companion or not.”

you swallowed that lump in your throat, biting the insides of your cheeks to prevent crying right then and there. “you have a lot of potential, y/n. don’t let your emotions ruin it. i have high hopes for you.” she spoke once again, before dismissing everyone.

you left the room with a heavy heart, turning to look at veronika’s body one last time before leaving quickly so you could break down where no one else could witness.

you rushed to the staircase where you and veronika would sneak away all the time when you were supposed to be having lunch. you two would always sit under those stairs, talk about anything and everything you could. your tears were now freely rolling down your face.

“hey,” you heard a voice say and you quickly wiped your tears away. you looked up and saw that it was none other than natasha. “miss romanova,” you breathed out, scrambling to get up before she placed a gentle hand on your shoulder, the woman seating herself next to you on the floor, under the staircase.

“that must’ve been hard for you,” she spoke after a few seconds of silence. “i remember my first time killing an actual person in training. they had me shoot targets and i consistently got the bullseye every time. then they switched out the targets to an actual person and i had a hard time doing that. i can’t imagine how it must’ve been for you. i heard you and veronika were quite the inseparable duo.”

you didn’t move to show that you were shattered over the current events but the millions of tears silently streaming down your face said otherwise. natasha turned to you, reaching to wipe your tears away before gently caressing your cheek.

“you’re a strong one, y/n. you remind me of myself when i was still in training. i can see myself in you.” she told you truthfully. she had no idea why but she felt a strong connection towards you. she felt that you and her had so much in common. she had a strange inclination to protect you even though she knew damn well you were capable of doing so yourself.

since then, she always dropped by to help train all of you but you and her developed a relationship so strong that she even told you of her plans to get you out of that hellhole. at that point, it had been a few months since she’d turned good but she kept coming to the academy for your sake. she felt a sense of responsibility over you, like a mother would over her daughter.

she would with the other girls too if they had shown at least a bit of humanity but it seemed that the red room had ruined them beyond fixing. despite being the best student of the academy, you still weren’t inhumane like the rest. you would hesitate to hurt others, only doing so when threatened and even that, you still weren’t as heartless or cruel.

madame b would always berate you over this but natasha would pick up the pieces every single time. you loved her. she was the best thing in your life after veronika and your heart broke when the red room fell and you were taken away. away from the mother you never had.

you awoke with a jolt again. it was the second night in a row you were reliving your past memories. you touched your face and you felt the tears on it, wiping them with your sleeve as you sat up in your cold, uncomfortable bed in your cell. you sighed, bringing your knees up to your chest and hugging them.

you couldn’t help but think of nat again. what could’ve happened if she managed to get you out before you were taken away? could you have a nice life with her? would you never have to hide under the stairs to have emotional exchanges with the woman? would you finally have been able to be who you were, not influenced by the evil around you?

you never knew what it was like having a mother but you imagined it was what nat had been towards you during the times you spent together at the academy. you two were more mother and daughter rather than trainer and student.

all of a sudden, alarms blared through the building and red warning lights flickered in your cell. you stood up, peeking through the small glass of your cell door to see guards rushing through the hallways in a frenzy.

you assumed that the facility was under attack and no one was coming to save you. you didn’t even try, walking back to your bed to return to your position of hugging your knees tightly to your chest.

you could hear the chaos outside but opted not to pay attention to it. it didn’t involve you and if no one was coming to save you from whatever was attacking the place—not that anyone in that place would, you were merely an asset to them—you wouldn’t bother worrying about whether you were going to live by the end of the night.

a loud bang interrupted your thoughts and you looked up to see your cell door had been forcefully thrown open by a large man in stripes, holding a circular shield. you immediately stood up, getting ready to attack him when he spoke.

“i’m not here to hurt you.” he said, holding out a hand as if to tell you to stop whatever you were about to do. “we’re here to save you. you can finally leave this place now.” he says gently. you frown at him, still in a stance ready to attack him.

“cap, is there someone in this room?” a familiar voice spoke and your head immediately turned to the door, where the owner of the voice stood, mouth dropping open at the sight of you. your face softened and a tiny gasp left your lips at the sight of her.

“y/n…is that you?” she breathed out, walking towards you and not stopping when she saw that you weren’t alarmed or anything. “nat..” you choked out, tears starting to form. how crazy was it that you had been having flashbacks of her for the past two nights and suddenly she was here to come save you?

“y/n!” she exclaimed, pulling you into a tight hug. you knees buckled but she held onto you tightly, sniffling as she caressed your head gently. you buried your face in her shoulder as you took in the familiar feeling of being in her arms once again.

more tears started to form in your eyes now. never had you thought you were actually going to see her again. you lost the hope of seeing her again two years ago. but here she was, standing in your cell and hugging you like there would be no tomorrow.

your hugging session was cut short when steve sheepishly spoke up. “sorry to uh, interrupt this reunion but more guards are coming, i think it’s best if we leave now.” he picked up his shield, leading the three of you out of the facility safely and back to their quinjet. the whole time, nat held onto your hand tightly, as if letting go would lead to another few years of being apart once again.

once you reached the quinjet, nat led you to the seats in the back where you two would have more privacy. the team watched the two of you in confusion before turning back to steve for an explanation as he was the one who was partnered with nat for this mission. all the captain could tell them was that you two knew each other way before this and that all of them would have to wait for an explanation from nat herself if they wanted to know what was going on.

when you reached the compound, nat led you to her room where she lent you her clothes and let you shower before tucking you into her bed. when she was sure you were comfortably asleep, she left the room quietly to go grab a glass of water only to find the whole team sat in the common room instead of back in their own rooms.

she looked at them, confused. “guys, it’s like almost the crack ass of dawn and we just got back from a mission, why aren’t you asleep? or were you debriefing? in the common room? did i miss it?”

“no, you know debriefings for late night missions are the next morning. we were waiting for you actually,” steve spoke on behalf of the whole team. “me? for what?”

“nat, c'mon, don’t act stupid. you know what we’re talking about,” clint makes an unimpressed face at his best friend. nat sighs, taking a seat next to him and the team look at her expectantly. she cleared her throat, preparing for a whole story time.

“you know how i was from the red room?” she asked them and they all nodded, urging her to continue her story. “well, after i graduated, i was asked to come help train the younger ones in the programme. during that time, i met this girl. she reminded me a lot of my younger self and she didn’t seem completely brainwashed to the point where she lacked emotions. i grew close to her and after i met clint and joined SHIELD, i vowed to get her out of there because she went through a lot in that hellhole and i could tell she didn’t want to do any of the things that the other girls were fine doing.

"she had a good heart and i didn’t want it to be wasted. she was the best in the academy and i knew they had big plans for her. but i didn’t want her to be programmed to kill. she was much more than that. so i made this whole plan for her escape. i kept going back to the academy to come see her and share my plan with her. clint, you always asked me where i kept disappearing to when we first started becoming friends. it was her. the people there didn’t know i was already under SHIELD at that time—nobody did—so it was safe for me to keep visiting and keep planning an escape for her.

"but three years ago, the red room fell. i rushed over because i thought i could finally leave with her without anyone knowing. but apparently she’d been taken away. she was the only one of the girls who was taken. by who, i didn’t know at that time. but i knew it was because of her skills and abilities. if the red room had big plans for her, i knew other organisations must’ve already heard of her too.

"i never stopped looking for her. i don’t know why i never thought of HYDRA. but it doesn’t matter anymore. i finally found her and i’m never letting her go. i hope you guys don’t mind that she lives here now. if not, i’ll move out and find somewhere for us.”

the team seemed surprised that nat told them her story. they were very much expecting her to, well, not tell them because this seemed like a very personal story.

“no, no, of course she can stay. i’ll even set up another room for her.” tony says and nat nods gratefully. “what’s her name?” wanda asks.

“y/n,” nat tells her, smiling at the thought of you as she stands up. “alright, i have to go back to her. see you guys in the morning. maybe you’ll get to see her then.”

she bids them goodnight, leaving after grabbing a glass of water for you in case you woke up in the middle of the night, in need of it. she wasn’t wrong because when she got back to her room, you were up, hugging your knees as you cried.

“hey, hey, hey, what’s wrong, sugar?” she quickly puts the glass of water on the bedside table, sitting on the bed and pulling you close to her. you look up at her all teary-eyed and she feels her heart break.

“i–i thought i lost you again,” you croaked out, burying your face in her shoulder. “oh, sugar, you’ll never lose me ever again. i’ll never let that happen. you’re safe here with me. now sleep, i’ll be here when you wake up.” she stroked your hair gently, laying down next to you on the bed before you two fell into a blissful slumber in each other’s arms.

true to her words, she was right next to you when you woke up the next time. she seemed wide awake and you felt bad because she probably had been up hours before but didn’t leave you because you were scared.

“how’d you sleep, sugar?” she asked as you sat up, stretching. “the best i have in years. thanks to you, nat.” you smiled at her, still not believing all of this is real. that you’re finally reunited with the woman you thought of as your mother.

“do you want to meet my friends? they’re dying to meet you,” she tells you and you bite your lips nervously. “do you think they’ll like me?”

“are you crazy? of course they will. and if they don’t, i’ll make them.” she threatens playfully and you laugh, missing how protective of you she is. you smile, agreeing to her suggestions to meet her friends after you got ready for the day.

“hi, sweetie, you’re y/n?” a man with fancy silk pyjamas greeted as you entered the common room with natasha. you nodded timidly, scooting closer to natasha. it was weird for natasha to see you this nervous. after all, you were the best student of your batch in the red room. but she understood that years with no actual social interaction does that to people.

“i hope you’ll like staying here, i already have your room setting up as of right now. when you move in, you can tell me if you don’t like anything and i’ll change it for you. oh, i forgot, i’m tony,” he extends a hand towards you and with an encouraging nod from nat, you hesitantly shake his hand. he smiles at you before telling you both he has projects to finish down in his lab and to tell him if you needed anything.

“hey, nat, not gonna introduce your friend to us?” you heard a voice from behind you and you two turned around to see two men and a woman. you recognised both men—one of them was the one who broke into your cell last night and the other one you had seen him a lot from pictures nat would show you during your secret meetings in your red room days. he was her best friend. you didn’t know the woman but the kind smile on her face was enough to reassure you that these people weren’t bad.

“y/n, meet clint, the idiot who i call best friend,” she points to the shorter man. the name nat called him must’ve offended him because the face he made was hilarious that you let out a little giggle. nat smiles at this before proceeding to introduce the other two.

“this one’s steve, he’s an old man stuck in a young body—literally— so if he says things you don’t understand, just smile and nod.” you nod at nat and steve gives her an incredulous look, as if not believing the audacity she had to introduce him like that.

“this one’s wanda, she’s the least annoying person in this whole place and she can cook whatever you want so i think you two will get along really well.” wanda smiles at you and you return it shyly. you smile at the other two before nat drags you away, telling them she still had others to introduce you to.

when you entered the kitchen, you saw a man reading a newspaper on the kitchen island while another man, whose skin was red, stood beside him. they seemed to be discussing something very intelligent because you didn’t understand a single word they spoke.

“bruce, vision, i want you to meet someone.” they turned their attentions towards you and nat and you immediately felt like hiding once again. “oh hello, steve told us you brought back someone from the mission. is this her? hello, i’m bruce,” the man sitting down introduced himself.

“wait, is this the bruce?” you asked nat, smirking teasingly at her and she smacks you gently on the shoulder. the man seemed flustered at what you’re insinuating, scratching his neck awkwardly.

“bruce, vision, this is y/n, i’ve known her for a long time and i finally found her after years so i hope you two won’t mind that she’ll be staying here from now on,” nat tells them. the two of them didn’t come on the mission last night so they were the only two who didn’t actually see you until today.

“it’s nice to meet you, y/n. i’m vision, i hope you’ll enjoy your stay here.” the man with the red skin greets formally and you turn to nat with a confused expression. “he’s an android, he does things a bit weird here so don’t mind him.” she whispers to you and you nod understandingly.

“it’s nice to meet you two, i hope we’ll be good friends.” you say awkwardly, hoping to get this whole introduction thing over with. how many people do you have left to meet?

speaking of the devil—or should you say, devils—, two annoying voices rang through the kitchen, interrupting the peacefulness that it was before they came in.

“i’m just saying that if you hadn’t eaten my last bag of chips last week, i wouldn’t have taken your cookies last night. it’s all about fair play, man.”

“and i keep telling you that it wasn’t me! i don’t even like those stupid salty ass chips from that brand,”

“stop lying, i saw you eating that brand the other day! just admit you stole my chips and go,”

“guys, are you really having another one of your stupid arguments now?” nat cuts them off and they immediately turned to you, finally noticing all of you.

“oh hey! y/n, right? it’s nice to meet you, i’m sam. if you wanna survive in this place, you better hide your snacks because if you don’t, this winter warrior here will snatch 'em all before you can even stash them in the cupboards. don’t ever trust this guy here when it comes to your snacks. you heard what happened to mine,” the man fakes a cry and you held back a laugh at his long introduction. you only wanted a name to match the face but he gave you much more. you didn’t mind though, he seemed like a fun person.

“hi, doll, i’m bucky. don’t listen to eagle right here, i do not steal snacks. i simply let people have a taste of their own medicine. you steal my snacks, wilson, i steal 'em back. you think i don’t know you stole my oreos too last month? that’s why i stole your damn chips last week,”

“so you did steal them!”

“so what if i did?! you stole my oreos first!”

“oh my god, guys, you’re really embarrassing me in front of y/n. these are really the people i was excited to introduce her to,” nat face-palmed and you couldn’t help but laugh. “don’t worry nat, these people seem amazing. i can’t wait to get to know them better.” you assured her and she smiles, pulling you close to her. “buckle up, sugar, because living with the avengers is gonna be a wild ride.”

you were excited for what was about to come. it seemed like everything was finally falling into place. you finally got nat back and you didn’t have to worry about losing her again because you had a feeling these people weren’t going to let that happen.

not a secret anymore

natasha romanoff x fem!teen!reader

summary: nat reveals a secret to the public when your class takes a learning journey to the tower.

requested: yes

warnings: might come off as half assed writing because this probably is one of my worst works i’m so sorry

word count: 1681

notes: i’m so sorry i haven’t been writing much, i’ve recently just gotten extremely busy so i had no time to sit down and write (this one was literally written between all the short breaks i had ) and i have a few requests piling up so i hope you guys can understand if they come later <3

“hi, y/n!” ally, an agent, greeted you as you, along with your classmates, walked through the east wing hallway of the tower. your classmates—except for peter, ned and mj— turned to look at you with confused looks.

your class was having a learning journey at the avengers tower and you had contemplated on calling in sick to avoid people who worked in the tower acknowledging you around your classmates.

you were actually an avenger—yeah, crazy—, having been rescued during one of the many avengers’ hostage rescue missions few years ago. you were able to single-handedly take down a few of your captors, hence why the team took interest in you then.

now, though you had been trained enough, they decided to keep you a secret in order to protect you. lord knows how many people would try hurt you if they ever found out the avengers had a new, teenage recruit. peter was technically still safe as his alter-ego is masked so you had no choice but to only go on missions that weren’t in the public eye.

you also lived in the tower so the agents and staff were undoubtedly familiar with you, some even friends with you, just like ally, who had just passed by with a wave of her hand at you before turning the corner.

“did that lady just acknowledge you?” an annoying voice spoke from beside you in a mocking tone. you gulped, not wanting to respond to flash’s irrelevant question.

“hey, loser, i’m talking to you,” he nudged your arm with his elbow and you held the urge to grab it and flip his whole body upside down. it’s not like you couldn't—you had the skills, obviously— but it’s the fact that you didn’t want to get in trouble for that.

you ended up keeping quiet, like you always did whenever the boy taunted you. peter taught you to do just that. if it were up to you, flash’s stupid face wouldn’t even dare to show itself in front of you anymore.

speaking of peter, he was nowhere to be seen by now. you internally rolled your eyes. it had only been two minutes and they were already gone. peter was probably showing them around the place. you had no idea how your teacher didn’t notice the three of them missing from your group. you were so going to kill them for ditching you and leaving you alone when they knew they were your only friends. they were also the reason why flash still had his head to this day because they’d stop you from doing anything rash. now you weren’t sure if flash would be safe from your fury.

“you probably work here as a cleaner on the weekends or something, huh? that’s the only way people here would know you,” flash jeered. you let out a breath, trying to control your anger towards the boy.

you rolled your eyes, opting to deliberately ignore his insults and walk away instead, hoping you’ll bump into those three idiots of friends of yours.

“did you just ignore me?” flash asked incredulously, as if it was a crime to ignore his annoying ass. he pulled you back by your back collar, effectively halting you in your spot.

by instinct, you grabbed his hand that was on your collar, twisting it and turning his whole body around, pinning him against the wall with his twisted arm pressed against his back. it happened in just two seconds which totally caught flash off guard, the boy groaning in pain as he begged you to let him free.

you could hear a series of gasps from all around you and you internally groaned. this is why you always ignored flash’s taunting. you didn’t want to attract attention to yourself and have people wonder how you could defend yourself so well. but flash just had to provoke you. especially here, out of all places.

“what’s going on here?” you heard a familiar voice ask and you sighed.

“oh my gosh! it’s the black widow!”

“miss romanoff!”

“oh my gosh, i’m gonna need to get a picture for my mum later, she’s gonna freak out!”

you stepped away from flash, releasing him as he dramatically kept rubbing at his arm. as if you even put that much pressure. flash smirked, seeing this as a chance to complain about you to an official avenger.

“thisgirl right here,” flash points an accusing finger at you with a glare, like he wasn’t just practically begging for his life twenty seconds ago. “attacked me.”

you rolled your eyes, unamused. “i hardly attacked him.” you told nat. the woman turned to you, an eyebrow raised as she gave you a knowing look. “this…?” she trailed off and you nodded, knowing what she was insinuating. you’d told her about flash one too many times for her not to immediately figure out who he is from a crowd of students.

“flash thompson. heard a lot about you,” she turned to the boy. flash’s face lit up, thinking he must’ve made a name for himself or something that even the black widow knew him. little did he know he did, but not for good reasons.

“i would prefer if you stop messing with y/n/n.” nat gave him a sharp look and that grin was immediately wiped off his face. “i– y/n/n?” he stuttered, confused that the natasha romanoff is calling you by a nickname.

“you do know she can kick your ass if she wanted to, right? she’s been silent all this while because she didn’t want to hurt you but you just never seem to learn, huh?” nat took slow, calculated steps towards him until she was towering over him.

“she doesn’t need anyone to protect her because she’s fully capable of that but i’m just here to warn you, kid, that she, is not to be meddled with. i’m saying this for your own good, flash thompson. she’s capable of much worse than whatever she just did to you. so if i hear you messing around with her or any of her friends,” she pauses before continuing with a whisper. “i’ll close one eye on whatever she wants to do with you.”

you wished you could’ve taken a picture of the dead scared look on flash’s face; it was priceless. you turned to nat once she stepped away from him and she put an arm around your shoulder, leading you both away from the watching crowd.

“i–i’m sorry, miss romanoff,” you could hear one of your teachers say and nat stopped, effectively stopping you too as she had you in her hold. “but miss y/l/n is on a learning journey with us and she’ll miss the tour of the tower if she leaves with you. we’ll be discussing a lot regarding this trip in class and she won’t understand what we talk about if she misses this tour. i hope you understand.” he spoke nervously.

“with all due respect, y/n’s seen the whole tower already,” she smiles at him but you could tell it was fake. “even the avengers’ residential floors which are closed to the public and most employees of the tower.”

your teacher looked at her wide-eyed, mouth open but nothing coming out. nat smiles a fake one once again. “now if you’ll excuse us, the both of us have avenger duties to attend to.”

gasps could be heard all around you and in the midst of it all, your best friends came back and you made eye contact with them, all of them having the same shocked look on their face.

“avenger duties?! nat, what are you doing?!” you whisper-yelled at the woman who seemed to be enjoying the reactions of your classmates and teachers.

“y/n!” peter ran over to you, your other friends following suit. “oh, um hi miss romanoff,” he greets shyly. “thanks a lot, guys, look what happened.” you spoke sarcastically, rolling your eyes at them. nat proceeded to drag you away from your friends and the last thing you saw was them mouthing apologies and you half-heartedly mouthing to them back that it was fine.

“relax, y/n/n, the public were about to find out soon anyways.” nat said nonchalantly. “what?!” you exclaimed once you two were in a different hallway.

“yeah, you’re gonna have press this weekend for this. we’re gonna officially announce you to the world as an avenger.” she once again says nonchalantly, as if this wasn’t the first time you were hearing this. “wait, wait, wait, seriously?” you asked in disbelief. no one had told you anything.

“yeah, i—ohh yeah, you don’t know yet,” nat remembers and you give her an unimpressed look. she wasn’t usually this dumb; she only showed this side of her to you. “sorry, i uh, yeah.. i was supposed to come get you for this. meeting with fury and the rest, yknow?” she tells you and you nodded slowly, taking in the information.

“but tell me it didn’t feel good that you got to do that to flash,” the woman states excitedly and you playfully rolled your eyes at her. “you got to do something. i’m practically an empty threat to him,” you stated matter-of-factly.

“not after this weekend you’re not. he’ll be afraid of you after. that’s what you get for being a smelly bully.” you couldn’t help the little smile on your face. she really sounded like a child right now and it was adorable.

“alright, natty, whatever you say. let’s go before fury releases his fury.” you look at her hopefully, waiting for her to laugh at your joke which she responded with an unimpressed look. that of course didn’t work as you two burst out laughing looking at each other’s faces.

you walked alongside her, the woman resting an arm around your shoulder. you smiled up at her as she talked about her day.

god, you couldn’t wait to be able to finally walk out in public with these people you considered family.

summary: the four times you needed nat and the one time she admits that she needed you too.

warnings: blood, a random attack out of nowhere because i’m not creative, inaccurate writing of medical situations because i have no idea how those things work, also let’s just pretend bruce was around during iron man 2 when tony still had palladium in his arc reactor, also inaccurate descriptions of palladium effects bcs i just…don’t know much about palladium pls forgive me thanks, and idk any hospitals in new york/manhattan or even the states LMAO so uh bear with this, and last but not least, my inability to write good endings

notes: that’s a long ass warning nevertheless pls do enjoy this fic <3

“i’m going now, bye!” you bid the team who were having breakfast together, walking out of the common area.

“bye, cupcake! don’t get into trouble, don’t do what i’d do and definitely don’t do what i wouldn’t do.” tony advised and you rolled your eyes because tony says that to you every morning before you leave for school.

“wait, don’t forget your lunch!” nat stands up from her seat and grabs your lunch that she had packed, from the kitchen island, bringing it over to you. “thanks, nat!” you grabbed it, giving her a quick peck on the cheek before leaving.

nat smiles at the action, turning around to walk back to her spot on the table, only to find the team staring back at her with knowing looks.

“what?”

“you know, you only need to sign a couple papers and the kid’s all yours.” tony states matter-of-factly. nat snaps her head towards the man, an incredulous look on her face. “what are you talking about?”

“we all see the longing looks on both your faces. she’s dying for you to call her your daughter and you, her mother.” clint explains and the others nodded in agreement.

“that’s nonsense. she has wanda too,” nat reasons, sitting back down. “i’m pretty sure she sees wanda as a sister considering how much she drags wanda with her whenever she’s causing trouble around the tower.” steve raises his brows at the redhead who was in denial.

“she sees you as her mother, nat. just accept it,” wanda tells her, taking a sip from her glass. “really? name me one time she showed it.” nat challenges them, not knowing that they’ve been watching your interactions with her for the longest time.

“you have no idea what you just got yourself into, romanoff,” clint chuckles, cracking his neck and knuckles as if preparing for a fight.

“remember new mexico?” he smirks and nat only frowns, trying to remember.

i.

“no!” you screamed, dropping down to the ground. you didn’t care that you scraped your knees doing that, the only thing that mattered was the overwhelming feeling of grief engulfing your whole being. tears streamed down your face as you looked at the debris on the ground, the remainder of what used to be standing in front of you; a building. blown up, now in ruins.

clint, bucky and steve watched you break down in front of them, their hearts breaking at the sight in front of them as well as the fact that their teammate had been caught up in the middle of the explosion.

“y/n/n? come on, tony’s team called for back up. we gotta go,” steve tried to get you to stand up, failing when you kept your ground. you screamed when he tried again and their hearts clenched at the heartbreaking sound.

“we can’t just leave her! please, we have to find her,” you cried, clinging onto steve’s body as he ran his hand up and down your suit-cladded back to soothe you. “y/n/n, we can’t. the whole place is in ruins now,” he didn’t want to say it but he had to. he had to in order to get you to leave. “she’s gone.”

“she can’t be gone! she can’t just leave us! we need her! i need her, stevie..” you cried into his chest and he had to control himself so he didn’t cry right then and there too.

he looked up to see bucky looking at the two of you guiltily, tapping his wrist to indicate that they were running out of time. steve had no choice but to carry you in his arms, getting you to leave the site against your will. but you were too weak to fight back now. “what am i gonna do without her now, stevie?” you asked quietly.

“we’re gonna be okay, y/n/n,” he tells you, sitting you down on a chair and settling down next to you as clint flew the jet to your next location. the atmosphere was tense and you could tell everyone, too, was sad about this.

“what if we’re not? what if we’re not gonna be okay, stevie? i know i won’t be.” you wiped the tears streaming down your face despite the fact that your face still wasn’t drying up any time soon.

“because nat wouldn’t want to see us like this. she’ll be angry if she sees that we’re risking people’s lives just because of her.” he says truthfully.

“we’re landing, guys.” clint announces and the team prepared for another round of fighting. steve turns to you, wiping the tears on your face as he made you look up at him. “now let’s save some people and make nat proud, yeah?”

you nod at him sadly, preparing your weapons. all of you got out the jet and the second battle of the day begun. boy, were these people unlucky because they were on the receiving end of your fury.

you were busy taking down a group of guards alone when you heard a familiar voice. “y/n, behind you!” and you turned just in time to take down a guard who was aiming at you.

you didn’t even have time to register your shock of seeing the redhead because more guards came at you two. you guys fought alongside each other until all the men were taken down.

“nat?” you breathed out. “yes, bub?” she answers as you both carefully walked over the knocked out men. she was taken aback when you slammed into her, hugging her the tightest you ever did since you met her.

“please don’t ever do that again.” you mumbled into her chest. she was about to ask you what you meant when she heard you sniffling. figuring out it wasn’t the appropriate moment to ask, she continued to just hug and comfort you in silence.

“wait, that was why she cried that day? because she thought i was in that building when it blew up?” nat asks after steve finished the story. “i never found out why because she never told me.”

“yeah, you should’ve seen her when the building exploded. completely shattered my heart, dude.” clint states, remembering the broken down state you were in that day.

“wait, did you guys not grief over my supposed death then?” nat glares at clint, bucky and steve. “in our defense, they were about to blow up about a hundred people, we didn’t have much time to process the whole situation.” clint tries to convince his best friend, only to receive a glare again from her.

“alright but just because she cried when she thought i was dead, doesn’t mean she sees me as her mum. i’d cry too if any one of you guys died,” she states, still in denial.

she did love you like how a mother would love her child. but she didn’t want you to feel that she was forcing the title onto you. after all, you had so many other adults around you, who’s to say that you saw someone else as a parent figure instead of her? she didn’t want to make you uncomfortable.

“woman, are you serious?” sam exclaims, throwing his hands up in the air dramatically. “need i remind you that the girl sacrificed her life for you?”

ii.

“nat, watch out!” you stood right behind her where the man was about to attack her. you gave him a harsh kick to the head and that was all it took for the man to go unconscious.

the redhead turned around, not having enough time to comprehend what had happened before you dropped into her arms. you two were lucky the last of the men had already been taken out.

“bub? what’s wrong?”

at this point, you were fully leaning against her. she was holding up your whole weight, hands wrapped around your middle to support you. that was when she felt it. the familiar thick substance on her fingers, leaking from the back of your suit.

her eyes widened, pulling one hand away from you to look at it. red. her breathing picked up as one of her hands felt around your back, finally feeling the handle of a knife sticking out from your back.

your eyes were already drooping by now and she lightly shook you awake, careful to not hurt you. she lowered you down and you were both sat on the floor now.

she presses a finger to her ear and you could hear her voice echo in your ear from your own comms. “can someone come please,” she paused, exhaling shakily. “y/n’s down.”

if it had been any other person, she probably would be bringing them to the jet by now but it was you. she didn’t know what came over her but when she saw that you were injured, it was like her whole body shut down. her knees felt weak and she couldn’t bring herself to move.

“hey, hey, keep your eyes open. can you do that?” she asked gently and you nodded weakly. “bub, why did you do that?” she cried softly, moving your hair away from your face as you leaned sideways against her. the action caused your face to be smudged by your own blood from her hands but she didn’t care as she caressed your cheek.

“he–he was gonna hurt you. i–i couldn’t…” you paused a while, the pain getting too much for you to bear. “y/n, don’t strain yourself. you need to stay awake,” she tells you as tears streamed down her face.

“rather me than you,” you whispered. nat’s eyes widened at this. “don’t say that, bub.” she scolds gently.

you smiled weakly at her. “i’ve grown too dependent on you, nat. it’s to the point that i,” you coughed and nat worried that you were straining yourself but you continued. “that i’d rather die than live without you. you probably can go on with life without me but i can’t without you. i need you, nat.” your eyes closed and nat panics, shaking your body.

“y/n?! bub?! stay awake, please, they’re coming!” nat cries out loud, holding onto your limp body.

“did we not agree to not mention that to me anymore?” nat glares at sam for bringing that up.

the night of that incident had been one of the worst nights for nat. she sat by your bed all night after you had been treated. she had been the first one you saw after you woke up. she had been the one you broke down in front of after you admitted the full reasoning behind your actions. she had been the one who opened her arms for you to make yourself at home in.

“i’m sorry but you must be blind if you can’t see how really she sees you for the past years,” bucky states. nat turns to him with a glare. “you don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“oh really? who does she call whenever she has a really bad nightmare?” bucky questions rhetorically with his eyebrows raised.

iii.

“no, please, don’t!” you begged, asleep and thrashing around in your bed. quiet whimpers turned into heavy breathing as you plead for your life in your nightmare. “please,” you whispered, inhaling and exhaling harshly.

FRIDAY, noticing the amount of distress you were in, alerted the closest person to your room, that being bucky who was returning from a late night trip to the kitchen for some water.

he quickly went into your room, only to see you shivering and thrashing around in your bed. “doll?” he approaches slowly, finding you still asleep, though sweating a lot. nightmare, he realised.

“doll? wake up,” he gently shakes you and you immediately jolt awake, breathing heavily as you register what was going on. “it’s okay, it was just a nightmare,” he soothes you, holding you close as one hand rubbed up and down your back while the other held your head to his chest.

none of that helped as you were still in the same state as you were when you woke up. “are you okay?” he asks, worried. “nat… i need nat.. please i need her,” you whimpered, shaking in his hold. you were having trouble breathing.

“FRIDAY, get romanoff.”

within minutes, nat arrived, looking panicked and disheveled like she had just woken up, which she just did. “what’s wrong?” she asks bucky, approaching you two.

“she was having a nightmare and woke up and i think she’s having a panic attack. she asked for you,” he informs her and immediately moves away when she approaches, so that she could take his place.

“bub? it’s me,” you look up to meet natasha’s pretty green eyes. “you’re okay, bub. can you tell me five thing you can see?”

you looked away from her eyes, looking around your room. “i–i see my book on my nightstand, my lamp, my jacket on the chair, my laptop and the painting on the wall.” you told her after some difficulties.

“good, that’s good. four things you can feel?”

“i feel the socks on my feet, my fluffy blanket, the pillow i’m leaning on and your hands around me.”

she smiles softly at you. “three things you can hear?”

“i hear your voice. a–and the faint noise from the ac and i can also hear bucky’s breathing.” you look up at the man and he smiles sheepishly at you, standing around awkwardly. you gave him a small smile back.

“two things you can smell?”

“i can smell my own shampoo..and my room’s air freshener.” you told her more calmly now, feeling the panic attack already going away.

“one thing you want to taste?”

“i wanna taste wanda’s blueberry pancakes.” you pout and the two adults couldn’t help but chuckle. “you can have them in the morning. right now you need to sleep so you can have the energy to devour them tomorrow, okay?” you nod at the woman as she tucks you in.

not long after, you fell asleep. she then presses a kiss to your forehead before leaving with a less worried bucky now. and sure enough, the next morning, wanda made you blueberry pancakes.

“okay, so what? we all need someone to help us through panic attacks?” nat rolls her eyes. “did you miss the part where i came in and tried to help but she specifically asked for you? she needed you, nat.”

“guys, i… i love her with my whole heart but she has all of us. i don’t wanna make her feel like she’s restricted to only one of us. you all love her too,” nat reasons.

“yes but she doesn’t have anyone to call her mum and frankly, i think you’d be perfect for it.” wanda encourages the older woman.

“i—” before she could continue, her phone rang loudly and she thanked whoever it was that called her because now she didn’t have to make up excuses about her doubt of becoming your official mother.

iv.

she looks down at the caller id, sighing when it was you, meaning the team had more against her now. of course she didn’t mind you calling her, you could call her when she’d be asleep after a mission and she’d still pick up with a smile on her face. but it was the fact that the whole team could see how she softened when she realised it was you who called that bothered her. she really didn’t want them to let her have hopes that you’d accept her as your mother.

“bub?” she said into the phone and half the team smirked at her while the other half gave her knowing smiles. “aren’t you supposed to be on your way to school?”

“yeah but uh are you busy right now? i um, i need you.”

nat immediately stands up, worry etched onto her face and the team frowned at this. “what happened? are you okay?”

“you know how i told happy i wanted to walk to school today? yeah, i just remembered why i don’t walk to school anymore.”

“what do you mean? what happened? are you hurt? did someone hurt you?” she bombards you with questions out of worry. at this point, the team had also stopped their chatter and teasing looks, equally worried for your well-being.

“yeah, i am. wait, maybe not. i mean, i was just being dramatic but uh, i tripped on who-knows-what and now i have a sprained ankle. i can’t walk now so i’m standing in an alley right now so i’m not in the way of people. can you come get me?”

nat sighs in relief, thankful that it wasn’t anything that she was thinking of. “you are unbelievable, y/n.” she chuckles in disbelief at your clumsiness. “can you tell me where you are? i’ll come get you now. i’ll have the school know you’re not coming today.” you told her your location and she immediately leaves after telling the team what happened to you.

you were expecting nat to call again, to tell you she was around the corner but instead you heard a whoosh of air beside your head, followed by a crack sound. your head followed the sound, eyes widening when you saw that a dart had struck the wall beside your head. you looked ahead, trying to see where that came from.

if it hadn’t been for your fast reflexes being an avenger for the past few years, you probably wouldn’t have ducked in time when another dart came flying right for your head. “what the hell?” you grunted, staying low but still looking around for the source. you squinted when you looked up, the sun blazing but you managed to catch a glimpse of a man on a rooftop nearby. he had blonde hair and was dressed in all black, donning a same coloured mask that covered the bottom half of his face.

“you had one job! how could you miss her twice?!” the blonde hears his colleague hiss in his ear through the earpiece. “i’m sorry! i’m no hawkeye, how was i supposed to get her in one try?!” he scolds back.

“you didn’t even get her in two!”

“shut up and just let me work! you’re distracting me!”

“hurry because i see the redheaded one nearing the alley. boss’ll kill us if he finds out we didn’t get her in her vulnerable state.”

“i’m trying, i’m trying!” the blonde closes one eye, his sight now locked on your crouched state. he saw you move once you saw him and he cursed under his breath, his weapon following your movements. “she’s moving!”

“just take the shot and be done with it! you have to go now!”

and shoot he did. after he shot the dart gun, he immediately fled but it wasn’t like you were going to be able to chase him down or anything. a scream left your lips as a dart pierced through your skin, right under your shoulder.

you dropped down to the ground, right in the middle of the alleyway. you cried when you felt the burn in your flesh. you had been stabbed multiple times before with much bigger objects so why did this feel different?

“y/n?! is that you?!” you heard nat’s voice yell from a small distance away. “i’m here,” you croaked out, feeling your body grow weaker at an alarming rate.

“oh my god, bub, why are you on the ground? it’s dirty, c'mon let’s get you up. which foot did you sprain?” she places both her hands under your arms, pulling you up on your feet before accidentally dropping you back when you let out a shriek, crying out in pain.

“oh my god, did i hit your ankle? are you okay?” nat assumed that your tear-stained face was because of your sprained ankle but then you wheezed, your eyes drooping the longer she stood there.

your right hand slowly reached across your left shoulder, the butt of the dart sticking out of your skin now in between your shaking fingers. nat’s eyes followed your hand movement’s, a gasp leaving her lips.

“y/n, what happened?!” she panicked but before she could even get an answer from you, you had already blacked out. her eyes widened, knowing it was the dart because why else would you pass out that quick from a simple penetration in the shoulder. you had dealt with much worse than that and she knew your tolerance level.

she took off your bag, careful to not move the dart. she then placed her hands under your knees and behind your back, easily picking your unconscious body up and rushing back to the tower.

when she arrived, she was met with many confused yet concerned looks from the tower staff, seeing the black widow, rushing in with the youngest avenger unconscious in her arms. they had seen you leave the tower for school about half an hour ago so they knew something must’ve happened on the way.

“get bruce in the hospital wing. tell him it’s urgent.” she tells the woman working the front desk, hurrying into the elevator and telling FRIDAY to get her to the floor she so desperately wanted to arrive at quicker. black lines appeared on the left side of your neck, slowly spreading to the right side and she assumed it was from that damned dart in your left shoulder.

“natasha! what’s wrong? they said it was an emergency,” the doctor spoke in a panicked voice when nat entered, immediately going quiet when he saw you in her arms, neck lined with seemingly black veins.

nat laid you down on the surgery table, frown growing when black lines steadily spread to your arms now. though she was too worried to think, she managed to at least tell bruce what was outwardly wrong with you.

“dart. left shoulder.” she blurted, incapable of forming proper sentences now that she had seen more of you. the black lining your skin got her speechless and anxious. bruce got ready with medical gloves, removing the dart from your flesh before analysing the pattern of your skin. it looked familiar.

“FRIDAY, get tony down here. it’s urgent.”

“bruce, please, what’s wrong with her?” she cried, tears now freely streaming down her face. she didn’t cry much in front of anyone but when it came to you, you always managed to get her to do just that.

“hey, what’s going on? FRIDAY said there was an emergency here, who’s hurt?” nat heard tony’s panicked voice but she didn’t make an effort to reply. her gaze was fixed on only you.

tony’s jaw dropped, frowning when he saw you on the bed, upper body covered in black lines. “what the hellhappened?!”

tony stepped beside bruce, taking a closer look at your skin. his frown deepened. “wait, it looks like..”

“yeah, looks exactly like when you had palladium instead of vibranium in your arc reactor.”

“does that mean—”

“palladium’s been running through her veins for about twenty minutes now. FRIDAY, how high is her blood toxicity level?” bruce asks, sampling a drop of your blood from when he took out the dart.

“53% and it is still steadily increasing.”

“tony, at the rate it’s going, if she’s not treated in the next fifteen minutes or so, she’ll..” bruce pauses, not wanting to say it out loud.

“no, she just needs lithium dioxide. that’s how fury and i cured your palladium poisoning, tony.” nat finally speaks.

“SHIELD probably has them but they’re all the way in dc. they’re not gonna reach here in time,” tony states solemnly, reaching over to move your hair out of your face, looking down at you sadly.

but he was immediately pulled aside, nat grabbing his collar and looking him straight in the eyes. “you have your stupid iron suits that can probably travel faster than the speed of sound if you try. you can go down there yourself and get the damn thing. i swear to god, tony, i’m literally going to destroy those stupid suits myself if you don’t put them to good use.” nat threatens, glaring at the billionaire.

tony’s eyes widened, the genius having not thought about nat’s idea yet. “yeah, yeah, you’re right, i’ll go now.”

he left immediately and nat approached your bed hesitantly, not wanting to see the black lines making home on the skin on your upper body. “do you think tony’ll make it back in time?” she sniffles and bruce’s worried frown on his face softened. “of course he will. he won’t let anything happen to y/n. we won’t let anything happen to y/n.” he assured her.

there was nothing they could do now but wait for tony to come back with the lithium dioxide. nat sat beside your bed, hands gingerly grasping one of your own. despite the black staining it, nat held it to her face and her tears rolled past the back of your hand.

bruce decided to give her some privacy, opting to inform the whole team of the situation instead of standing around idly.

nat pulled your hand away from her face, rubbing her thumb over the back of it, crying even more at the sight in front of her. “y/n, please. i’ve never told you this but i need you.” she pauses, breathing in shakily. “i’ve always needed you and i’ll always need you. you can’t leave me, please. you said i could go on with life without you but you’re so wrong, y/n. you’re the reason i’m still here and you’re the reason i still want to be here. if you’re not here then it’s as if i have no reason, no purpose. i need you, y/n. so much more than i’d like to admit. heck, probably much more than you need me. so please, don’t leave me. i can’t do this without you.” nat sobs out, watching the patterns on your skin spreading and growing bolder.

at this point, the whole team had now gathered outside of the room, watching nat cry over you. they wanted so bad to get a closer look at their beloved baby avenger but they respected nat and instead, waited for her to finish talking to you. once she stood up and looked around, bruce knew she was done so he entered, followed by the team.

“status, FRIDAY?” bruce asks, sampling a bit of your blood again. “blood toxicity at 96% now.”

the team looked your unconscious body in apprehension, some crying and some worried out of their minds.

goddamnit! where the hell is stark?!” nat growled. her eyes were now puffy after having spent the last half an hour crying. the team had never seen her lose her cool like this but they figured why.

as if on cue, tony’s iron man suit crashed through the windows of the room but he couldn’t care less. his main priority was to get to you quickly. in his hand was a silver briefcase that he passed to bruce.

bruce opened the case before wasting no time in plunging the syringe containing lithium dioxide, your supposed cure, into you. immediately, the black patterns on your skin started disappearing. it was slow but noticeable. it started from the tips of your fingers, going up towards your neck.

everyone sighed in relief, and to tony’s surprise, nat hugged him tightly. “thank you. you have no idea how much this means to me.” she whispers. tony pats her back gently. “hey, i care about her too, okay? of course i’d do this for her. any one of us would.”

nat smiles at him when she let him go, turning back to you and almost crying out in joy when your skin had finally turned back to normal. she let the medical assistants set your bed up and handle your sprained ankle before going back to sit by you. the team left her alone with you once again.

it was only about an hour later did you wake up, squinting when bright lights shone down on you. you moved around but you felt hands around your left and you heard a familiar voice.

“and remember when you dragged wanda to pull that prank on me with you and after you did, i grounded you like i was your mum or something?” you hear her chuckle, still not noticing that you’ve woken up.

“i didn’t mind, though. frankly, i don’t think i would ever mind if you continued acting like my mother or something,” you spoke and she immediately tore her gaze from your hands, looking at you, now wide awake.

“bub!” she hugs you so tightly you didn’t think you could breathe. you still returned the hug though, laughing. “i was worried you might still have some palladium in your bloodstream.”

“wait, palladium?” you asked her in shock. “yeah, the dart that got you in that alley, it contained palladium. it’s highly toxic so we used lithium dioxide to counter it. speaking of the dart, i’m going to find out who did this to you and they’re never going to see the light of day for putting us through all of this.” nat says, disturbingly calm.

“yeah…you do that,” you tell her, slightly scared. “but palladium? in my blood? how cool is that? i had literal metal in my blood! i could’ve become like tony but like…palladium woman or something.” you said excitedly.

“you do know we already have metal in our blood, right bub?” nat questions in amusement. “oh.” you say dumbly. “and palladium don’t belong in our body and you literally almost died because of it.” your mouth opened but no words came out.

“speaking of, can you please not do that again? i really thought i was gonna lose you.” she whispers, stroking your hair. “oh yeah, of course. i’ll just announce to the whole world to not target the youngest avenger,” you joke, smile dropping when nat gave you a stern look.

“nat, being part of the avengers at my age undoubtedly means i’ll be a target for the bad people out there, but i don’t care because while i get to kick ass, i know all of you have my back when it’s my ass that’s kicked. and i think that’s the best part of being an avenger; the sense of security i get having you amazing people as my teammates.” you tell her honestly and she smiles softly.

“oh come here you,” she pulls you in for another hug but this time it’s better because you could still breathe. you make yourself comfortable, snuggling into her.

“did you mean it?” she asked and you look up at her in confusion. “mean what?”

“when you said you wouldn’t mind me acting like your mother.”

“of course i do, you’re like the mother i never had. i wouldn’t even mind you being my actual mother.” you say without a second thought, eyes widening when you realised what you had said. you swore under your breath, knowing you’ve just made it awkward between you two.

“i– really?” despite the teams efforts to make her see the truth, it was much more meaningful when she heard you say it yourself. “y–yeah..” you admit sheepishly.

“then you wouldn’t mind if i actually adopted you?” she asks carefully, gauging your reaction. your jaw dropped, eyes going wide once again. “are you serious?!”

“yeah.” she smiles at you fondly. “no! of course i won’t mind!” you hug her tightly, tears forming in your eyes. you had gone all your life without parents so this was a huge thing for you. not only were you going to finally have a mother, but the most amazing woman you knew was going to be your mother.

“mum?” you tested the title, smiling when she acknowledged it. you were now crying in joy.

“hey, don’t cry.” she soothes you, running a hand up and down your back. “no, no, i’m just so happy. this is the best day of my life.” you tell her. “me too, bub.”

you stayed in her arms until you fell back asleep, nat tucking you in before going back to sit down on the chair. she looked down at you fondly.

sure, she was scared of the big step she was about to take with you but she had you with her and she knew that was enough. “i love you, y/n.” she whispers, planting a kiss on the side of your head.

“are you sure you’ll be okay?”

“yes, mum, i’ll be fine here. i’ve been doing fine for the past two and a half months, what’s another week without you guys gonna do to me?” you told your mother on the phone, rolling your eyes at her excessive, unnecessary worrying.

“we’re so sorry about this, sweetheart,” you heard your dad speak and you figured he must’ve been listening the whole time. your mum must’ve had it on speaker since the beginning of the phone call.

“you shouldn’t have to spend your birthday all alone. i promise we’ll make it up to you, honey.” your mother spoke again and you groaned. “i keep telling you that it’s fine. and what do you take me for, a loner? i’ve got the others here, mum, i’ll be fine.” you told her, a smile ghosting over your lips at how concerned she is of you.

your birthday was coming in two days and having a whole movie to film meant that you weren’t allowed to leave the country for just a weekend to celebrate it with your family. so, they worked around your schedule and planned a trip to visit. unfortunately, your idiot of a brother managed to get himself into a skating accident and had to be hospitalised, affecting their whole plan of coming to celebrate your 18th birthday with you. well, not on the day of your birthday, at least.

“i’ll make sure sarah’ll bring you out to celebrate, okay? i’m so sorry about this, y/n.” you could practically hear the pout in her voice and you held back the urge to tell her off for profusely apologising, you didn’t want to receive a beating when she finally arrives here.

“i’ll be fine, mum,” you whined. “as i said, i’ll be filming on my birthday too so i’ll at least be with the cast then. it’s never a dull day with them. and i’ll be waiting for your gift from sarah on my birthday.” you teased her. you knew she had a habit of getting birthday gifts way too early. for once, she was grateful for that because she had given sarah—your manager and also a family friend— your birthday present for her to safe-keep in case anything like this happened and she couldn’t give it to you on your birthday.

“i’ll give you permission to whack your brother once we come.” your dad tells you seriously and you laughed. “thanks, dad. i’ll be sure to remember it. anyways, i have to get back on set soon. i’ll talk to you guys when i can?”

“of course, honey. have fun on set!” your parents bid you goodbye and you hung up with an adoring smile on your face. you missed your family and having been able to hear your parents’ voices for a mere five minutes was enough to cure it for even just a little bit. sure, you were disappointed that you weren’t going to get to spend your birthday with them but spending it doing what you love—acting— with the people, aside from your family and friends from home, that you love—the cast— didn’t sound so bad.

“i’m so sorry about this, darling.” you heard someone say, effectively breaking your train of thoughts. you turned to the source of the voice, meeting the hazel eyes of your manager and long-time family friend, sarah. she pulls you in for a hug that you groaned into but still returned. you rolled your eyes playfully when she let go. “i’m not upset, sarah.”

“i know. but you’re disappointed.” she says softly, fixing your costume after the hug messed it up a little. “maybe i am, but it doesn’t matter. i chose this life so technically i brought all of this upon myself. i signed up to have a normal life stripped away from me.” you told her honestly, internally cringing because you hadn’t meant to get that deep.

“y/n,” her hands rested on both of your shoulders and she looks down at you with that stern mum glare she’d give you whenever you were being a little troublemaker. she was practically your second mum, having promised your own that she’d take care of you whenever you had to travel for filming.

“i know, i know, i’m sorry. i didn’t mean it in a bad way. i love my job but it sucks that i have to be far away from family, you know?” you sighed. “i understand, darling. it’s hard but hey, i’ll be with you the whole day, okay? we’ll go out and have a nice girl’s day out together, do whatever you want. that sound nice to you?” she places a gentle hand against your skin, careful not to rub the fake dirt and wound makeup on your face.

“that sounds great, sarah. i have only a half day of filming that day, right?” you ask her, knowing she remembers your schedule better than you yourself do. “yup. anyways, they need you on set 3. get out there and make me proud, darling.”

-

“and….cut!” the director called out and you dramatically dropped limp against the wire harness attached to your body, the wires holding up your weight so you didn’t drop down to the floor but also didn’t have to remain standing on your own.

you heard sebastian laughing, him being the closest to you in the scene you had just filmed. “you tired, y/n/n?” evans chuckled as he walked towards where you and seb were standing. “yeah, i just wanna sleep right now.” you told them, standing up on your own when a crew member wanted to get your harness off.

“well, at least you get to rest now. you’re done for the day right?” seb asked, the three of you now walking to the snack table together. “yeah but sarah wanted to take me out so maybe not rest but i’ll get to relax. that’s good enough,” you say, peeling off a banana and taking a bite while the two men drank some water.

“she’s taking you out later today? is there a special occasion?” chris asked and you smiled at him. “nah, nothing much. she just thought i’ve been stressed lately.” you lied. you didn’t want to seem attention-seeking for telling chris and sebastian that it was your birthday so you settled on a little lie.

“she’s not wrong. you have been working hard and you deserve a relaxing evening off work.” seb agreed.

“oh she’s walking over here right now. are you going now?” chris asked, eyes trained behind you as he watched sarah coming closer. you turned around, meeting her frown-etched face and you blinked profusely in confusion. “i thought we’re going in two hours?”

“y/n, i’m so sorry. some stuff came up and i have last minute errands to run all day,” she told you, offering a guilty expression when your face dropped slightly. “oh.. i– um, yeah, it’s fine.”

“are you sure it’s fine? i promised you though,” she frowned. “it’s fine, i know you have a lot to handle and it’s totally fine if we don’t go out today. i’ll just take a nap and be on netflix all day, i guess.” you joked but sarah didn’t laugh. “sarah, it’s fine. you know i’ve been wanting to catch up on a list of shows. when else will i be able to do this?” you assured her, trying to mask your disappointment.

“i have to go now. i’ll make it up to you, darling, i promise.” she gave you a hug before running off somewhere. you felt bad for her because she probably had to be running here and there all day but it didn’t change that you were disappointed. maybe you really did deserve this for choosing this life.

“hey kiddo,” you felt someone ruffle your hair and you were almost going to go off on them for doing that before remembering you had just finished your last scene for the day. an arm rested over your shoulder and you looked up to see jeremy taking over sarah’s previous spot.

“um excuse me? do we not exist?” chris joked when jeremy didn’t greet him nor seb. jeremy rolled his eyes at them, turning back to look down at you. “you did great today, kiddo.” he complimented and you smiled, thanking him.

“wow okay, i guess we really don’t exist, huh? c'mon seb, let’s go somewhere else where people appreciate our presence.” evans sassed, glaring at you two as both men strutted away.

“good riddance,” jeremy said, dropping his arm so that you two were now face to face. “happy birthday, y/n.” he says, handing you a little bronze coloured box. you gasped as you took it in your hands.

“how’d you know it was my birthday?” you asked him, eyes wide in surprise. “of course i know your birthday, kiddo. after all, you are my favourite co-star.” he grins, gesturing for you to open the box.

you did and your hand immediately flew to cover your mouth in shock. “jeremy! you didn’t!” you gently took out the necklace from the box, examining it closely. the charm was in the shape of your favourite animal and the chain was gold. this must’ve costed him a fortune.

“jeremy, you didn’t have to!” you exclaimed, pouting at him to prevent yourself from bursting into tears right then and there. “kiddo, i love you a lot, how could i not?”

playing clint’s adopted, eldest daughter in the films, as well as a member of the avengers, you and jeremy worked together a lot. he helped you a lot with practicing your lines and emotions for specific scenes and you bonded over so many things you two had in common. even off set jeremy still acted like your father so practically everyone knew how close you two were. if sarah is considered your second mum, you’d say jeremy is your second dad.

“so i heard sarah bailed on your birthday date today,” he says as he helped you put on the necklace, smiling fondly when you looked down at it happily. “thanks a lot, jeremy. you really didn’t have to,” you hugged him tight, the man chuckling as he hugged you back.

“and sarah didn’t bail. she just has errands to run all day. can’t blame her, she’s a busy woman.” you told him. “yeah yeah, anyways, how ‘bout i take you out instead? a birthday lunch and a day out with your favourite cast mate?” he wiggles his eyebrows at you, a smirk playing on his lips.

“you don’t have anymore scenes to shoot?” you ask. “i do but i have plenty of time before then.” he replies. you agreed happily and he tells you to meet him outside the set in an hour so you two could change out of your costumes.

-

“you ready for the best day ever, kiddo?” jeremy asks as you entered the passenger seat. “best day ever? then shouldn’t we invite the rest?” you teased, buckling your seatbelt. “hey! i’m pretty fun too!”

you chuckled at his childishness. “i’m kidding, you are fun. now let’s go already, i’m starving.” you complained and he started the engine, letting you play whatever songs you wanted as background to your small talk.

you had lunch first at your favourite restaurant but not before you two had a debate of whether you were allowed to because you were supposed to be on a diet during the length of the movie shooting and him ultimately going 'to hell with that diet, it’s your special day’ and then dragging you in. after that, he said he had a surprise for you and told you to just get in the car.

when he finally stopped somewhere, you realised it was a pretty well known hair salon in town and you tilted your head in confusion. why would he bring you here?

“you said you wanted to dye your hair, didn’t you? let’s do it.” he says nonchalantly, unbuckling his seatbelt before you both exited the car. “are you crazy? we’re still in the middle of filming!” you exclaim in disbelief. this man was crazy.

“yeah but it’s not like they can’t just get a wig of your current hair and use that for the rest of the filming. scar and lizzie wear wigs all the time, you can too. now let’s go dye that stupid colour you want!” he cheers, tugging you along with him by your wrist, into the salon. you chuckled at his antics, letting him drag you.

the next hour or two was spent with you worrying that your parents would kill you for this, or worse, anthony or joe. you knew it would be a meltdown for them if you came back with your hair a completely different colour.

jeremy assured you that the russos, as well as your parents, would not get mad at this but you were pretty sure you’d get an earful from both pairs. you made him promise that he would talk to both parties that he was the one who convinced you to do this. but once your hair was done, all worries flew out the window as you admired your new hair.

“you look great, kiddo. this colour looks good on you.” he looks at you with a fond smile, trying to resist the urge to ruffle your newly done hair but failing. you pouted at him when he did so, reaching up to fix it again. “sorry, y/n/n, couldn’t resist,” he states, pinching your cheek.

“alright, next stop now, let’s go!” he pulls you by the wrist once again and you let him, used to him doing this already. the next time he stopped, you damn right almost had another heart attack because again, this man was crazy.

he did not just bring you to a nail place. surely he isn’t about to let you get your nails done, right? the russos would have your head and his too if you were to get them done and casually get back to the studio.

“no.” you said firmly, crossing your arms over your chest as you stayed seated in the passenger seat. “c'mon, y/n/n,” he whined, throwing a tantrum outside the car door as he tried to get you to leave the car.

“no, jeremy, they’ll literally send me back here to get it off because in case you forgot, in all my scenes, i don’t have fancy nails.” you reasoned, noticing that jeremy has now moved to your side of the car and the passenger seat door has now been opened, the man continuing to make a fuss closer to you now.

“no they will not, i’ll make sure they don’t. c'mon kiddo, it’s your birthday, let’s have a little fun!” he says but you were still unsure about the whole thing. “i don’t know..”

“okay fine i guess i’ll tell you this now. they didn’t want to tell you until later today because they wanted it to be your kinda birthday present but your avenger suit has changed. it’s not like the one in the last movie, it’s got gloves now! and the rest of your scenes excluding the last few ones are all in your superhero suit right?” your eyes widened at this new information, a smile growing on your lips.

“wait, for real? are you sure they’re not just fingerless gloves?” he smiles down at you. “yeah. i planned this day well, okay? put some trust in me, geez,” he sassed, moving out of your way as you finally exited the car.

“this better not be a joke, renner, because if it is, i’ll have your head.” you threatened jokingly. “yeah, yeah. oh also, can you just pretend to be shocked when they tell you about your suit upgrade? because i really wasn’t supposed to tell you this.” he scratched the back of his head awkwardly as you walked two walked into the nail salon.

the entire time, he awkwardly sat at the side, waiting for you to be done. when you were though, he quickly got up, as if he had been restless sitting down the whole time.

“they’re pretty,” he says as you walked back to his car. “yeah, i really like them. haven’t had my nails done in a long time.” you replied, getting in the car and waiting for jeremy to get in on his side. once he did, he immediately started the engine and started driving back to the set where he had to continue shooting and where you knew sarah would be waiting for you.

it was after many different topics and finally arriving outside the set did you decide to get a little emotional. “hey, i just wanna say thanks for today. i thought i was gonna spend the day alone watching netflix all day like some loser but you made this day really enjoyable. you have no idea how much this really means to me, thank you so much jeremy. i love you.” you pouted at him, trying not to cry. “aw kiddo, of course. you’re an important person to me. couldn’t let you be a loser on your special day,” he teases, bringing you into a hug where he didn’t miss his chance to ruffle your hair.

once you let go, he kept an arm around your shoulder as you both walked in. he opened the door for you both and you almost jumped in place.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”

your jaw dropped at the sight in front you. every single one of your co-stars, along with some crew members were wearing party hats holding up a banner that said 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Y/N’. sarah was in the middle, holding a huge birthday cake with a smile on her face. you slowly walked towards her, hand over your mouth in shock.

sarah gave the cake over to robert before opening her arms up for you. you gave her a tight hug. “you didn’t have to do all this,” you say, letting go of her. “jeremy and i planned this right when your mother called beforehand and told me they couldn’t come in time.” she explained.

you turned to jeremy who had been standing next to you the whole time, giving him another hug which he happily accepted. “you guys didn’t have to.” you told them, trying not to cry at the thought that these people loved you enough to do this for you.

“but we wanted to. and the rest wanted to join in too. now before you start bawling your eyes out, let’s get this party started!” he cheered.

“but before that, make a wish, kiddo.” robert tells you after evans finished lighting up all the candles. you closed your eyes, making a wish and blowing them all out. everyone cheered before walking away to grab food or to talk to others. or in your cast mates’ cases, fighting over who gets to give you your present first.

“you knew it was my birthday!” you exclaimed when you locked eyes with evans, who was in the middle of a brawl with both mackie and robert. he laughed out loud. “yeah! i did! your lie couldn’t fool me, child!” he says dramatically, before being pushed aside by robert.

you laughed as they continued to fight right in front of you about who you love more and therefore getting to be first to give you their gift. they even managed to slip in a few compliments about your new hair, while they were literally fighting. you watched in glee, realising that even if your biological family couldn’t make it for your special day, you still had a second one to make it special.

Ok so I’m noticing that when I write fics, I tend to focus on my OCs a little too much.

I was reading through the different variations of my Tony Starks daughter fics, and while I still do enjoy them a lot, I think it might be harder for others to because I have six different OCs in it that are used heavily.

Does anyone have some advice for this?

Opinion I might expand on if I can fully gather my thoughts:

In x reader fanfiction (especially marvel cause that’s mostly what I read), there should be more reader characters from rural areas / the countryside.

Can someone please help me find a bucky barnes series where the he and Sam get taken by hydra and the reader is there and they end up saving her and bucky finds out from Bruce that she’s his daughter.

What About Me? | Wanda Maximoff x Reader

ANGST
Wanda Maximoff x Reader, Avengers x Reader
Reader pronouns: She/her
Summary:After the events of almost destroying the multiverse, [Y/N] was accidentally forgotten by everyone instead of Peter. Watching her teammates and her girlfriend, Wanda, have fun without her breaks her heart.
[F/C] - Favorite color

[Y/N] depressingly glooms inside of her apartment. She hates herself. She hates Mysterio. She hates the multiverse breaking apart. She misses her friends, the Avengers. She misses Wanda, her girlfriend.

Oh, Wanda. [Y/N] missed going to classes with her along with Pietro and Peter. She misses her warm hugs and breathtaking kisses. She misses those red fiery glowing eyes whenever they’re fighting an alien monster or a Hydra agent. She misses her cooking sessions with Wanda, and Vision. She misses how funny it is to look at Vision’s face whenever he’s third wheeling to anyone in the team.

Suddenly, [Y/N] felt hungry. Maybe she has been coped inside her new apartment for hours. Lazy to stand up, she used her powers to open the door of the refrigerator with flick of her wrist, [F/C] mist showing around the handle. Having telekinesis and energy manipulation is definitely the best thing ever. She can just move things using her mind without having to stand up.

Maybe it has been making her lazy recently. Although, she tries not to use it in public to avoid drawing attention.

The refrigerator is empty. [Y/N] groaned. She’s gonna have to buy groceries and eat outside instead. She quickly changed using her powers again and stood up to get her bag and apartment keys.

Before she leaves her apartment building, she made sure she locked all her door locks inside using her powers again. Being an Avenger made her quite alert and panicky when it comes to security. Wouldn’t want a random Hydra agent barge in her apartment.

She walkes in the busy street of New York, finding the nearest mini-grocery store shop as possible. However, it took her a while to find a mini-grocery store. Her apartment is too far away. She frowned. This street is way too familiar.

She looked up and sighed, “Of course.” It’s the Avengers Tower.

Trying not to mind it, she entered the store and went to buy whatever grocery she probably needs in the future.

After sometime, she has finally finished getting all the things she need. [Y/N] walked to the counter, eyes focused on the grocery basket she’s holding until someone accidentally bumped into her causing [Y/N] to let go of the basket.

What-

The person that bumped into her was laughing but immediately died down when they knew they accidentally knocked someone.

“Oh, I’m so so sorry. Here let me help you.” A familiar voice was heard.

Wanda.

[Y/N] doesn’t care about the groceries in the basket anymore. She stared at Wanda as she helps her gather the fallen items. “Really, I’m truly sorry. I didn’t see where I was going.”

[Y/N] didn’t say anything and continued to gaze at her. Her eyes darted at the back of Wanda, seeing Pietro and Peter stand awkwardly behind her, watching everything unfold.

Pietro and Peter. Her other two best friends in the Tower. She misses them so much as well. She misses the pranks the four of them pull to the Avengers. She misses how chaotic and loud it would get in the Tower whenever the four of them are together.

[Y/N] slowly stand up the moment Wanda stood up and reached out her grocery basket to her. “Thanks.” The only one word she could mutter right now. She could feel Wanda staring at her.

She’s so beautiful. [Y/N] badly wants to embrace her, kiss her, and tell her everything that happened. If only Wanda could read her mind, she would understand. But she can’t, [Y/N] somehow has the power that no one or nothing can ever read her mind.

Their awkward silence was interrupted when Peter suddenly gasped, “No way! You’re a Star Wars fan?!”

[Y/N] was confused at first, “Oh!” She looked at the shirt she’s wearing. A Star Wars T-shirt, gifted by Peter Parker himself. “Yeah, I…uhhh…this was gifted to me by my best friend.”

“Your friend made a good choice for the t-shirt.” Peter ecstatically replied.

She then looked at Pietro and noticed the bracelet she made for the four of them. She quickly glanced at Wanda and Peter’s wrist too, the bracelet was there as well. I’m glad they still wear it.

“So…what’s your name?” Pietro asked as he smiled. Oh, he’s definitely flirting. Peter then elbowed him.

[Y/N] laughed. “My name is [Y/N].” Internally, she’s dying. She didn’t see the day that she has to introduce herself again to her best friends.

Pietro was about to reply back until Peter cut him off. “So, you seem like our age. What school do you go to?”

Oh right. College. University. She almost forgot about that stuff. If it’s not too late, maybe she can send in her applications late.

“Actually, I was supposed to go to a Uni or a college but I forgot to submit my application.”

Wanda laughed, “How can you forget submitting?”

[Y/N] shrugged, “I don’t know. It must’ve slipped out of my mind since I was dealing with some…personal problems.”

“Oh, I’m sorry.” Was all that Wanda could mutter.

“Don’t be. Besides, I don’t think college is for me anyways.” For the first time in her entire life,  [Y/N] hates that she has psionic resistance. She can’t turn it off. Even though its a great advantage because no one can read her mind, it’s also a great disadvantage that Wanda can’t look through her mind and know everything that happened.

[Y/N] suddenly pretended to be in great shock and made her jaw dropped, “Wait a minute, you guys are the Avengers!”

“Busted~” Pietro sang and the four of them laughed.

[Y/N] realized that being a sudden stranger to them is so awkward and doesn’t know how to continue a conversation because their old conversations are always about stuff that no one but them knows.

She could already feel tears starting to form in her eyes, “I’ll get going now. Don’t wanna impose in your Avenger stuff.”

Wanda stared at her until she replied back, “Yeah, okay. Then, we’ll see you around.”

“Yeah, see you around  [Y/N]!” Peter said.

[Y/N] turned their back on them and went towards the cashier to pay for the stuff she bought.

She went back to her apartment to place down the grocery bags she bought.

She quickly turned invisible and went outside her apartment to fly towards the tall Avengers tower. Going to the floor that they all used to hang out together, she hovered outside the window and wondered what could they be doing right now.

This may seem weird or creepy but she just wants to see them for the last time.

She arrived at the scene at the exact moment. Wanda, Pietro, and Peter are already inside the tower and talking with the other Avengers.

A bittersweet smile formed in [Y/N] ’s face. The people who she can see are Wanda, Pietro, Peter, Tony, Natasha, Steve, Clint, Bruce, Thor, Bucky, Sam, Loki and Vision.

Some were goofing around the kitchen table, some were having a laugh in the living room. The others are watching TV. Peter is currently running around the tower as Loki chase after him.

It’s a shame she can’t hear what they’re all saying and talking about. It would be a great joy to hear their voices once again. But then again, it is her fault that things are this way.

Tears continue to fall as she watches Vision come closer to Wanda and kiss her. She doesn’t know how the two got close and started dating but she is both angry yet happy. Angry because the love of her life is with someone that isn’t her. Happy because Wanda is happy. Wanda’s happiness makes [Y/N] happy.

Looking back, she suddenly felt grateful and joyous of all the things she experienced with them. At time of joy, they are all together. Even at times of despair, the Avengers are unbreakable. They always find a way to console each other and help those who were fallen.

As for someone who also has the power to turn invisible, she doesn’t really feel invisible whenever she’s around Wanda and the Avengers. They made her feel at home and at peace, even though their life consists of fighting villains and bad guys all the time.

Her new home might look peaceful since she is living alone. But it’s not the same as it was before. She has no one to bicker with, train with, or share a laugh with.

[Y/N] was accustomed of the living with the Avengers. A life full of adventures, chaos, and a bit loud environment. The recent events have made her realize how super grateful she was for having them.

[Y/N] realized that she has been hovering in the air too long that she can feel the tears dry already. She wiped the remaining ones and left.

Maybe it is best if they just forget her forever. As long as her family is happy, then she’s happy. It only hurts to always know that they’ll never remember her ever again.

My Father’s Daughter pt 4

Summary: Chaos ensues at the Stark Tower and some difficult decisions are made by the Stark family.

Hi guys! thanks for reading again. Sorry if it seems a little rushed but I’ve been super busy lol. But tomorrow’s my birthday so I get some time off!! yay!! lol. Anyway, thanks for reading again and thank you all for the support, it means so much to me!

Tony really didn’t know what to expect when he went into that kitchen.

He hoped that Pepper had just messed up dinner but of course was proven wrong when he got a fist to the face.

Great.

He could hear Pepper fighting as hard as she could, managing to take out a couple of intruders. He wasn’t as worried, as he knew his family was very much capable of taking care of themselves.

He activated his suit, allowing him to see through the smoke that covered his kitchen.

He could see at least ten men through the smoke. Two of them fighting with Pepper, and three coming his way. The rest were heading into the hallways. He shot the two that Pepper was dealing with, and turned his attention to the three approaching him.

“So, here to talk to me about my extended warranty?” Tony asked in a bored voice.

“We’re here for the girl Stark.”

Tony’s blood ran cold.

“She’s a little young for you, don’t you think?”

The man he was talking to threw a punch.

“You can’t hide her forever. We will have her."The two behind him tried to smash a chair over his head but ended up getting blasted. He turned to the one that was talking, only to get a chair smashed over his head.

"That hurt.” Tony said in a bored voice, then shooting him, “Not.”

He then turns to Pepper, “Hi honey.”

“What did you do.”

“Why is it that you always think I did something”

“Cause you always do something!” Pepper shouts

They stop their banter when they hear shouting from the living room.

“Oh no” Tony says making his way to the commotion.

In the living room, you were ambushed by five men. They were chuckling as their leader cornered you.

“So, this is the little Stark. What a pretty little thing~”

You cringe at his coos as you back up more, “ You know, I don’t think you’re my type.”

And with that you punch him in the face, taking advantage of his surprise. Then you swipe your foot, knocking him over and kicking him unconscious.

There was a brief moment when the remaining four looked in surprise. They were told that this would be an easy grab once Tony was taken out, but it seems that they were mistaken.

“You can’t win this Stark. Just come with us.”

They all rushed you at once, but you just smirked. You dodge the closest one to you and punch the second one in the gut. You’re grabbed from behind, but you headbutt him, causing him to let you go. You shake off the pain that bloomed in the back of your head and swung your leg up, kicking him in the face.

“Come on boys, put up a bit of a fight would ya?” You laugh.

The three men left looked enraged as they jumped at you again. You wrap your body around the one who pointed his gun at you, using his outstretched arm to maneuver yourself, wrapping your legs around his throat and throwing him to the floor with a hard thud.

“Huh..Aunt Nat made that look so much easier.”

“You little BITCH”

You turn seeing the two men left running at you. You run at them, kicking in one mans leg hearing a sick crunch and his pained screams. You then dodged what looked like a stun bullet that was aimed at you, letting it strike the man on the floor.

But before you could get the last guy, you hear the screech of your fathers suit and see the last goon fall to the ground. You look up to see your disheveled parents.

“What took you two so long.”

“We stopped for some coffee.” Your father replies,“ Are you alright?”

Pepper runs up to you and examines you, smushing your face.

“Ma, im okay really.”

“Huh.. looks like you’re staying in those lessons with Natasha.”

You roll your eyes, letting your mother baby you.

“Oh my.” You hear a voice say.

You all turn to see the Wayne family gathered at the entrance of the living room.

“Y/n did you do this?” Bruce asks, eyes calculating.

“Uh…yeah I train sometimes.”

“Tony what just happened?” Christine asks.

“They wanted Y/n.” Tony says grimly,“ For what I don’t know…but they know where she was. What time she’d be home and what room she was in.”

“So it’s safe to assume that they have been watching your family for a while.” Bruce adds

“Yeah…”

There was a tense silence

“So what? Are we going to the Malibu house?”

“No. No that address is easy to find. It’s public information.” Tony says with a frown, “ We can’t risk it.”

“Dad, I can take care of myself. You saw that.”

“I won’t risk it.” Tony says louder, “ I won’t risk you.”

“So what?” You ask, “ All our houses are public information. They know every place I might be.”

Jason speaks up, “ Well, not everyplace..”

You turn to him, “ Excuse me?”

“I’m just saying, if you came back to the manor-”

“No way.” You cut him off, “ No way, I’ll stay right here thank you very much.”

“That’s not a bad idea Jason.” Bruce says, “ I highly doubt these people would think you would be staying at the manor. Plus it’s out of the city.”

“Yeah and out of the question. I’m not going.” You say stubbornly.

But then Pepper turns to you sadly

“You should go.”

You feel your heart drop. MInd racing as you stutter out a

“W-what?”

Pepper goes on, “ If they watched us, they saw that Christine wasn’t in the picture, it wouldn’t make sense fo ryou to go to her home.”

“Mom..” You say, feeling betrayed, “ What are you saying?”

“I’m saying you need to go to Wayne Manor. Until we figure this out.”

You look at your dad, “ Dad, this is crazy.”

But Tony only looks at you sadly.

“No.” You say,“ No. NO. I can’t leave you. Don’t send me away!”

“Y/n, it’ll be alright! We’ll have a great time.” Christine says trying to wrap an arm around you, but you recoil from her grasp.

“I don’t care. I don’t want to go to Gotham.” You state, “Who voluntarily moves to Gotham anyway! There’s some sort of disaster every week!”

“Hey the local law enforcement works very hard to keep it at a two week minimum.” Jason says with a smirk, earning a slap upside the head from Dick.

“Y/n it isn’t safe. Right now it’s just us. The team is on different missions and what happens if I get sent on one?” Tony tries to reason, “ I can’t risk anything happening to you.”

“I’ve been kidnapped before.” You state.

“ANd that was the worst moment of my life. I won’t let it happen again.” Tony says softly.

“With her?” you ask, voice breaking,“ You’ve asked me for a lot of things dad. But this…”

You wipe a tear harshly, “ I can’t be around you right now.”

And with that you push past a glaring Damian and Cassandra, making your way to your room.

Pepper sighs, “Let her go. SHe needs some time.”

Then she turns to Christine and Bruce, “ We should discussion this decision.”

Then she marches to the messy living room. Not happy, but knowing this is something she needs to do for her daughter.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In your room, you’re emotions are ineligible.
You feel angry betrayed, and just a mixture of negative emotions.
You couldn’t believe what just happened. You couldn’t believe that your parents agreed to make you go with her. You’d rather get kidnapped by HYDRA than live with her.
You stop your pacing to pick up your phone. You see a few notifications. One from Peter and two from Wade.
Knife Block
“Hey Starky, look it happened again! :)”
*1 attached image*
It was a picture of his severed arm with the middle finger pointing out. You cringe but you were used to this kinda stuff.
Me
“gross man.
You sigh and toss your phone on the bed. Maybe Wade could be your bodyguard. That way you wouldn’t have to live with Christine and her poor rendition of the Addams Family.
Yeah like dad would ever let that happen.”
You frown. WHy can’t she just leave again. Everything was better without her here. And if she wasn’t here, your dad wouldn’t be making you leave.
*Kockknockknock*
“Hey Y/n, it’s Dick”
You stay silent, refusing to acknowledge the man at your door.
“Look, I know that I’m probably one of the last people you want to talk to.” He chuckles, “ But I mean, mom wanted to come up here but I beat her to it so I can’t be that bad.”
You roll your eyes.
“Listen, I know this must be…difficult. I can’t imagine what it feels like. But we’re family now. You can talk to me about anything. I’ll be more than-”
You had enough, so you want to open the door.
“Look. I get it, you’re like the older brother right?” You ask, not giving him time to answer, “ You probably had a billion similar talks with the Brady Bunch out there, but I’m not one of them. So cut the big brother schtick.”
Dick deflates, knowing that this wasn’t going to be easy.
“Y/n, I need you to understand something. Us finding out about you wasn’t any easier on us. But, despite the hostility from Damian and Cass, the rest of us are trying.” He frowns before tentatively placing an hand on your shoulder.
“I promise, that your stay at our house won’t be as miserable as you think.”
And with that he smiled, squeezed your shoulder and walked down the hallway. Leaving you to your thoughts and wondering what hallmark movie he thought he was in.
My Father’s daughter pt 3
Tony Stark x daughter!reader
Summary: Back at the Tower, Y/n has a talk with Pepper.
a/n: ohhh another part finished!! some new characters will be revealed next part and i’m so great full for @social-media-imagines-by-me fir helping me create them
You were furious.
You stormed into your room and slammed the door, finding satisfaction in the loud bang it produced. You then ripped through your drawers and closet, pulling on some work out clothes and some gloves. You then marched out of the room, slamming the door again, startling Sam and Bucky who happened to be passing by.
“Geez kid, slam it a little harder I don’t think it fell off the hinges yet.” Sam jokes, but you were in no joking mood so you swirled around with fire in your eyes.
“You okay doll?” Bucky softly asks, pushing a frightened Sam to the side. You sigh, knowing it’s not fair to take out your anger on them.
“Sorry Sam, it’s just…my biological mom is here and wants me to move in with her.”
“Oh…” Bucky says, not good with things like this, “ Do you want me to like…kill her or…”
“NO” You laugh, “ It’s just I haven’t seen her in nine years and she has the audacity to come up here like it’s nothing?!”
Your anger returns, “ She thinks that just because she pushed me out of her vagina”
The two men cringe at the words
“That she can just claim me? That’s not how it works!” You shout, “ And, she brought her fucking husband. The man she left us for! Who does that?!”
Bucky looks at Sam, mentally asking him what they should do. Sam just rolls his eyes and turns back to you.
“Come on kid, it looks like you wanna punch something.”
and with that he lead you to the training room where Steve was training with Peter.
“Come on queens, you gotta stay on your feet” Steve k=jokes as he, again, trips Peter.
“Mr. Rogers, do you think we should take a break?” Peter pants.
You stride pass them, not bothering to say hi. They look at Sam and Bucky for an explanation and just get a shake of the head.
“Hey Y/n that’s my punching” Steve started to say when he saw you throw a hard punch to the bag, “Nevermind…”
You ignore the group behind you, opting to pummel the poor punching bag in front of you.
Your mind flashes back to your mother and her words.
“A girl needs her mother”
*punch*
“Oh petal I wanted to call”
*punch* *punch*
“Come to Gotham. Meet your siblings!”
*BANG*
You look down to see the punching bag flew off the hook and is spilling sand on the floor. You were confused, as you knew you weren’t strong enough to do that, not even when you were angry.
“Wow, I guess Cap didn’t secure that hook again.”
You jump, not expecting someone to be there, as you heard Sam, Bucky, Steve, and Peter leave. You turn to see Pepper there looking at the bag in surprise. You sigh, stepping away from the mess and taking off your gloves. You make your way to the bench and take a swig of water.
“Did you need something Pep?” You ask, avoiding eye contact.
“Well, i was just wondering if my kid was okay. But given the fact that you punched that bag like it would restore your honor..”
You knew you shouldn’t have showed her Avatar.
“I’m assuming your not.” She finishes.
You give her a half smile, looking down at your hands.
“Y/n” She says, “ Talk to me.”
You finally speak, “Why now?”
Pepper frowns, understanding that small phrase, ’ I don’t know.“
"She’s not my mother.” You state, “ She…she might have been once but now?”
Pepper nods,“ I love you.”
You smile, the words reassuring you, “ I love you too Pep.”
“Come on, your messing up your manicure.” She says with a smile, standing and extending a hand towards you. You feel your demnor soften and your mood lighten. Pepper always managed to make you feel better.
“Yeah okay..thanks.” You say, taking her hand and letting her pull you from the bench, “ Are you hungry? Cause I am>”
“Y/n we just ate!”
“Like an hour ago”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Days went by and you hadn’t heard a peep from Christine. It was like she went off to lick her wounds and just decided not to reach out again.

Which didn’t bother you one bit.

But apparently the universe wanted to fuck with you because when you came home from a day out with Peter, there was your mother, Bruce Wayne, and all six million of her fucking kids sitting on the couch.

“What the fuck?” You say causing the attention to turn to you.

“Language” Peter says, You smile softly at him before then turning to glare at Tony.

“Don’t look at me, it was your moth-uh Peppers idea.” Tony stumbled, looking rather uncomfortable sharing a drink with the man that his…wife? girlfriend?… whatever she was left him for.

“Pep what?” You asking, softening your glare because you’d be damned if you disrespected her.

“I just think it’d be best if we clear the air and get everything out on the table.” Pepper said in that tone she uses when she’s dealing with difficult people or the press. You called it her CEO tone.

“Now, go take your bags upstairs and wash up. And I’ll pretend that you aren’t an hour late”

“It was Peter’s idea…” You mumbled and walking to the stairs that lead to the bed rooms.

“It was not!” Peter shouts following you to the rooms to help with the bags.

Christine watched as her daughter walked out of the room, playfully arguing with Peter. It was as if she were a whole different person, carefree and playful. Totally different from when she was glaring and stiff when talking to her. It broke her heart hearing Tony refer to Pepper as her Mother rather than Christine. But what did she expect?

Damian scoffed catching her attention, “Mother I do not see why you’ve dragged us here, that girl didn’t even acknowledge us.”

“Damian, enough” Bruce said, not looking away from his awkward conversation with Tony.

“Gee if only I could do that with our kids.” Tony mutters into his drink.

“Does Y/n argue often?” Bruce asks trying to engage in conversation.

Tony laughs before fondly speaking, “ Sort of. She isn’t the type to back down when she thinks something is right. There was this one time I caught her arguing with one of my business partners about his "condescending tone and misogynistic attitude”.“

”“And did she apologize after?”

“Hell no. She glared at me and told me apologizing just for his ego would be demeaning her experiences as a woman. Although to be fair he was an asshole.”

Bruce chuckles, “ She sounds like a well rounded young woman. How old was she then?”

“Ah about 10, it was funny seeing this little girl argue in a Justin Bieber shirt argue about the patriarchy with a full grown man.”

Bruce and Tony shared a laugh, picturing the scene.

“You must be very proud of her.” Bruce mentions after they quieted down. Tony let a small smile escape.

“ I am. She’s had a rough life, and I…” Tony trails off, “ She means everything to me. Without her…I don’t think I’d be the same person I am today.”

And with that, Tony downed his drink and stood, “ Want another?”

Bruce smiled and accepted, watching Tony leave. He can tell that the man was close to his daughter. A bond that formed due to a loss, they both grew from it and grew closer. He understood, thinking about his own children.

Pepper and Christine were having a somewhat similar conversation, although it was a little more tense.

“So…Pepper-”

“Virginia.” Pepper said, cutting her off.

“Excuse me?”

“My name is Virginia. Pepper is a nickname my family calls me.”

“Oh. Okay, Virginia, how long have you known Y/n and Tony?”

“Oh about nine or so years. I was promoted to assistant when I saw how much of a mess Tony was.” Pepper said casually.

Dick and Jason tensed, overhearing the tense conversation between the two mothers. But before Dick could interrupt Jason sat him back down.

“I wanna see what happens.”

Christine continued, “ And when did you become a..more permanent around the house?”

“When I saw that Y/n the one taking care of Tony.” Pepper said in a serious tone, “She was the one making sure he didn’t choke on his vomit and eating cereal as his flings walked out the room. Then he got kidnapped…and y/n was alone. So I made sure she’d never be alone again.”

Christine heart sank. She knew about the whole kidnapping thing. Why she didn’t step in, she doesn’t know. It’s just another thing she regrets to this day.

Before Pepper could continue, she heard two sets of footsteps and voices

"All I’m saying is, if he looks at me funny, I’m fighting him and that’s that.”

“Yeah maybe not the best impression on…” Peter cuts off when they reach the living room. Eyes again on the two of you.

“Let’s get this over with.” You muttered, saying bye to Peter and making way over to the couch to sit next to Pepper.

“Y/n!” Christine says happily, “ I’m glad you’re here. We brought you something!”

She pulls out a box and she carefully hands it over to you.

You look at it suspiciously before getting a nudge from Pepper.

“Thank you.” You grit out. Earning a glare from Damian and Cassandra.

You open the box to see…cupcakes.

“They’re the peanut butter strawberry cupcakes you used to like. Remember? I used to bring them when I came to see you.” Christine says, trying to bring up good memories.

You frown and close the box, “ I’m allergic to strawberries.”

Lie.

Pepper casts a glance towards you, “They look lovely, let me take them into the kitchen, I’ll check on dinner.”

And with that she takes the box and leaves into the kitchen. Leaving you and Tony alone.

“So…Stark” Damian started fixing his gaze on you.

“Yes, Wayne?” You said, matching his energy.

“What exactly is it you want from my mother?” He asks, earning a groan from his older brothers.

“Well, I’d appreciate it if she left me alone.” You say with a straight face.

Christine frowns but before she says something Damian speaks up again.

“Tt, all this drama for the likes of you? It’s honestly disappointing” He drawls, trying to get under your skin.

“Damian!” Christine scolded.

“Well, I apologize for not meeting your standards. I’d try harder if I cared what a toddler thought of me.”

Jason let out a surprised chuckle while the rest of the family looked on in shock. Tony just rolled his eyes.

“I do not understand why Mother insists on rekindling her relationship with you. You obviously weren’t worth the effort the first time around.” He spits, causing the rest of the family to gasp.

You however, just laugh, “ When you figure it out, let me know. It’s probably the same reason she puts up with you.”

Damian glares, about to start in again when Jason cuts him off “ Shut up Demon. She got you man.”

“Tt”

“I’m Jason, and anyone who can out that brat in check is good in my book.” He says sending you a smirk.

You smile back, “ I’m friends with Loki and Wade Wilson, I’m hardly affected by anything anymore.” Your dad rolls his eyes again, he’s not exactly enthusiastic about your choice in friends.

You like this one. Probably the one you’re gonna be able to stand in this family.

“Don’t hog her Jason!” Dick shouts pushing him away before turning to smile at you, “ Hi! I’m-”

“Dick Grayson. I know, you spilled your champagne on my dress a few years ago at a New Years gala.” You say, still a little bitter about it.

“Oh. heh, right, sorry about that. Again.” He says sheepishly.

You turn to Cassandra, “ You’re Cassandra. You and your friend cornered me in the bathroom.”

Cassandra scowls and looks away.

Then you turned to Tim, “ And you need to learn how to secure your fire walls better.”

Tim looked at you confused, “Um excuse me?”

You smirked, “ Just a suggestion. I assume you don’t want people to know about your…bats in the attic?”

The whole family froze.

You knew? There was no way.

“Kid, are you hacking again?” Tony said exasperatedly, “ You promised you’d stop after the last time.”

“Hey it’s not my fault Shuri didn’t think about changing her password.” You say defensively, “ and it’s not like you were complaining when you had me hack into SHEILDS databases”

“What was that!?” Pepper shouts from the kitchen.

“Heheh, nothing dear.” Tony shouts back then in a hushed voice scolds you, “ I gave you fifty bucks to keep that a secret.”

“I didn’t say what you had me retrieve.” You said smugly leaning back in your chair.

Bruce didn’t know how to feel.

On one hand, this teen that objectively hates his family, knows their biggest secret. She can singlehandedly destroy their family and expose them. And she has the means to.

But on the other, she’s a perfect fit for their family. She gets along with Jason, doesn’t let Damian get under her skin, and from the looks of it can definitely take care of herself. Only thing is, again, she hates his wife and by association, his family.

“I’m sorry, hacking? You know that’s illegal right?” Tim asks, still in shock that you got past his security systems.

You turn to him and in a bored tone replied , “Yeah? and?”

Tim stuttered for a bit before going quiet with a blush. It was adorable really.

You had to hold back a laugh, it was fun getting this stuffy family all riled up. Especially when you can see the disapproval in Christines face.

“Tony, you let our daughter participate in illegal activities??” Christine asks with a raised brow.

The table goes silent at the tone of her voice. Knowing that when she uses it someone is really in trouble.

But you roll your eyes because how are you supposed to know what that tone means?

“I let my daughter express herself in a …healthy way. She knows her limits.” Tony replies cooly, taking a drink and looking back into the kitchen wondering where Pepper went.

”Obviously not. Tony she has no regard for the laws at all! You think i didn’t see the headlines last year?!”

Ah yes, last year you had a slight scandal where you may have punched a pap for trying to get a picture up your skirt but who wouldn’t?!

“ And you let her hang around criminals and terrorists?!”

You scoff, “ Oh please everyone in the Avengers was a criminal or terrorist at least once.”

“Not helping kid.” Tony says, “Christine, you and your family have no right to come into my home and judge my family. I’ve been civil. Hell maybe a little too much. Mainly because if I wasn’t, my wife—err Fiancée, would kill me.”

You snicker, earning a few glares.

“Look the point is, don’t tell me how to raise my daughter. Especially because I was doing it all alone.” Tony finishes with a sigh.

The table goes silent. You were getting tired of all the tense silences today.

“ Look.” You turn to Christine, “ I get that you probably feel guilty or something because you ditched me. And I appreciate that or whatever.”

You were not good at this.

“ But I don’t wanna live with you.”

Christine looks down sadly, “ Y/n I just…I just want to get to know you again. You’re my baby.”

Before you could answer you heard a crash come from the kitchen and smoke fill the rooms.

“ Pepper?!” You cough, “ Dad what’s happening?!”

“ I don’t know. Stay here” He says summoning his suit.

“FRIDAY?!” You shout, but not hearing the AI.

The Wayne’s all looked at each other in panic. They didn’t bring their suits, thinking it was just a dinner.

You turn to them and shout “ Come with me, and stay low!”

You start to lead them to the stair case, knowing that the rooms were relatively safe.

“Come on!” you yell when they don’t follow you.

Christine stands from her seat and makes to follow you before being stopped by Damian.

“Mother we cannot..”

“Damian, I’ve had about enough of you. Let’s go.” She says sternly and follows you. The rest of the family following behind as Bruce nudges Damian.

“ Come on son.”

“Father we don’t know where she’s leading us.” Damian says stubbornly.

“There’s nothing we can do right now.” he coughs.

The sounds of punching and the blasts come from the kitchen.

“Let’s go.”

They finally join the rest of the family. You have them crouched in the hallway.

“ This is James’ room. Dad had it modified just incase he was ever triggered into the Winter Solider again. No ones getting through this door when it’s locked.”

You usher them in.

“Come on Y/n” Christine says reaching a hand out to you.

You smirk, “ What? and miss all the action?”

You close the door and lock it before leaving. Laughing at their surprised faces.

The room is silent.

“ She’s awesome!” Jason says with a laugh.
