Is SUCH a beautiful shot, such an interesting parallel. Because we have Drago and Stoick, Drago’s Bewilderbeast and Valka’s, kings and warriors and a bloody fight to the death. Only one victor can emerge.
And only one does.
And you have Drago flying off on Toothless, and Hiccup grieving his father, another beautiful parallel, because Hiccup has lost two people he loves and admires and he’s hurting and doubting, and you might even say he’s been weakened. But he overcomes his grief, and Toothless overcomes the Bewilderbeast’s control, and they’re able to do this because they love each other so so much. They’re stronger when they’re together.
And then you have Toothless and Hiccup absolutely WRECKING Drago’s shit, coming out the victors–Drago gets his arm blasted off and the Bewilderbeast gets its tusk blasted off.
This whole movie is just a masterpiece of parallels and I love it so much.
