He left his dragon killing life behind after finding out the love of his life was a dragonwalker and had begun building a life for themself in some nowhere island far from the village when Grimmel caught wind of a nightfury sighting on their island. He had died defending his wife and newborn son. His sacrifice was not in vain as Valka and Hiccup fled and survived.

So I just reread the “Hiccup: The viking who was seasick” book and since there aren’t any contradictions with the movie universe I always considered as canon in the movie universe. I mean we don’t have a lot of Information about movieHiccup’s childhood so i have a lot of headcanons related to the book:
1. Hiccup being a very frightened kid. Especially of spiders, thunder and sudeen loud noises. I imagine him still being a little scared of these things when he’s older. He tries to hide it from the other riders but i doesn’t take the twins a long time to notice his reaction when a spider near him, to Hiccup ’s cost.
2. Hiccup wearing these shoes when he was little. Idk but I love these shoes for little Hiccup
3. Even though he most of the time is a really shy, polite kid, Hiccup already has the smart, sassy traits he later has in the movies.
4. Stoick doing push ups before breakfast. This is seriously my favourite headcanon.
5. Hiccup is seasick. I’ve already seen a lot of posts and headcanons about that, but i can easily imagine as well that Hiccup is seasick and just hates riding boats but has no problem flying Toothless.
6. Stoick being Stoick but still a great Dad for little Hiccup (just like we’ve seen in the flashbacks in Httyd 3)
Hello, how are your craniums in the heat as summer draws near!
Apologies for the lack of activity of late. A lot is going on in the Den and beyond.
I’m shocked and ecstatic to announce that I will be relocating to Glasgow, Scotland, in the summer as I’ve managed to miraculously obtain a place in the Glasgow School of Art to study Masters of Letters in Fine Art Practice starting in September! This is a massive step after taking nearly two years out of making due to recovery, I feel, despite the up and downs that I will inevitably experience now and in the future, I’m ready to get back to work.
Over the last couple of months I have been doing a series of things with my time, mainly exploring Newcastle with my partner, which has been incredible.
I saw Jeremy Corbyn speak in Hull Zebedees Square and had some encounters with some curious creatures in the Hull area. I also gave blood for the first time, and will most certainly be the first of many!
As you can see, Stoick, Gale, Meadow, Snufkin, Poppy and Daisy are all doing fine, they will be coming with me to Glasgow also so stay tuned for their wee adventures beyond the wall.
I also knitted a jumper…thank you alpacas for your wonderful gift of fleece.
Next up is another Bare All For Polar Bears at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park in July, that I have still yet to start raising money for, but I am planning on making some drawings and selling them to raise money for Project Polar!

Stoick was such a great man, who deeply loved his daughter in law. I picture him as someone who would definitely adore a little girl, so it hurts to know that Stoick never experienced the joy of loving his granddaughter, Zephyr.
I’m honestly quite proud of this one!! This zine is very big, and the mods gave us a lot of words to work with, and I think it turned out very well!! I hope you guys like it too!!
There are so many AMAZING art pieces and fics in this zine, for all the movies, and even the show and the books!! I can’t help beaming at all the wonderful pieces everyone made. If you like httyd, I really don’t think you’ll regret buying this!!! It may be one of the last zines of this caliber made for it!!
