#bitter reunions

LIVE

Sometimes I really hate how Vlad and Danny’s meeting turned out, so I try to reimagine it.

Here’s a quick rewrite that I wrote in class like two months ago.

Danny blasted the birds with a grin, “Had enough yet?”

Suddenly, as the birds are about to strike, their eyes widened and they flew away as fast as they could. “What the…?” he wandered.

When a big shadow loomed over him, Danny turned around and came face-to-face with what scared the birds. It was a ghost, a vampire-looking one too. He had black hair shaped black horns with scary pupilless red eyes and blueish skin and fangs.

…Yeah, he really couldn’t blame the birds for running from that.

“Oh whatever, I was aiming for the birds, but you’ll do-“

“Care to tell me why you’re trespassing my territory?” The ghost asked, unimpressed.

“Huh?” The words died in Danny’s throat, and so did the ecto-plast he was forming.

The ghost sighed, “This is my territory, boy. My haunt, you’re trespassing. I don’t take very well to that.” He explained, “But seeing as you’re young -and probably new- I’m willing to let you go with a pass.”

Hishaunt? Uh-oh, this is bad. He knows trespassing another ghost’s haunt is a big deal. One problem though, he couldn’t leave, not with the party being tomorrow night.

“I thought this was Vlad Masters’ castle?” Danny tried.

The ghost laughed, “Oh, you are new!” Suddenly, two black rings appeared around the ghost’s waist. Two painfully familiar rings.

Danny’s eyes widened. It can’t be…

Before his eyes, the ghosts clothes turned into a business suit, blue skin became tanned, black hair was replaced with silver locks tied in a ponytail, and a second, a very familiar man said before Danny.

“When you’re done staring you can begin to leave.”

Danny dropped to the ground in front of him, after a few failed attempts he finally managed to find his voice. “You’re… half-ghost?”

Vlad raised an eyebrow, “Was that a lucky guess?”

Dennis looked into his eyes and let his own transformation wash over him.

Now, Vlad was the one staring, “Oh… that explains it.”
