“And as a lonely single man in your 40s, might I suggest internet dating? Or a cat!”
The show had a lot of inconsistencies, but I can’t quite understand why the decision to completely change Maddie’s design. The first one was the most adorable, but I guess evil villain needs an evil-looking cat. I don’t need to tell you now which one was the first design now.
This is the ending, ya’ll! Thank you so much for reading this comic, I’m so happy to read your responses and comments, likes, and reblogs! ( ; ///w///; ) I learned a lot of things drawing Phantom in the Mirror, especially since it’s so different from my usual style. I’ve had this comic in mind for a few years now, so I’m glad it’s out lol.
Sometimes, the mayor would call Phantom a menace, trip him down pretending it was an accident, and try to get him in trouble for the smallest things.
Other times, he would shoo away reporters that made him uncomfortable, check up on him after fights, and hands him money telling him to ‘go eat something you look pale’.
Sometimes I really hate how Vlad and Danny’s meeting turned out, so I try to reimagine it.
Here’s a quick rewrite that I wrote in class like two months ago.
—
Danny blasted the birds with a grin, “Had enough yet?”
Suddenly, as the birds are about to strike, their eyes widened and they flew away as fast as they could. “What the…?” he wandered.
When a big shadow loomed over him, Danny turned around and came face-to-face with what scared the birds. It was a ghost, a vampire-looking one too. He had black hair shaped black horns with scary pupilless red eyes and blueish skin and fangs.
…Yeah, he really couldn’t blame the birds for running from that.
“Oh whatever, I was aiming for the birds, but you’ll do-“
“Care to tell me why you’re trespassing my territory?” The ghost asked, unimpressed.
“Huh?” The words died in Danny’s throat, and so did the ecto-plast he was forming.
The ghost sighed, “This is my territory, boy. My haunt, you’re trespassing. I don’t take very well to that.” He explained, “But seeing as you’re young -and probably new- I’m willing to let you go with a pass.”
Hishaunt? Uh-oh, this is bad. He knows trespassing another ghost’s haunt is a big deal. One problem though, he couldn’t leave, not with the party being tomorrow night.
“I thought this was Vlad Masters’ castle?” Danny tried.
The ghost laughed, “Oh, you are new!” Suddenly, two black rings appeared around the ghost’s waist. Two painfully familiar rings.
Danny’s eyes widened. It can’t be…
Before his eyes, the ghosts clothes turned into a business suit, blue skin became tanned, black hair was replaced with silver locks tied in a ponytail, and a second, a very familiar man said before Danny.
“When you’re done staring you can begin to leave.”
Danny dropped to the ground in front of him, after a few failed attempts he finally managed to find his voice. “You’re… half-ghost?”
Vlad raised an eyebrow, “Was that a lucky guess?”
Dennis looked into his eyes and let his own transformation wash over him.
Now, Vlad was the one staring, “Oh… that explains it.”
I think it’s pretty safe to assume that Vlad hates Christmas as much as Danny, if not more. He spent about 20 Christmases all alone, a lot in a hospital too, why wouldn’t he hate it?
Him and Danny could bond over their hate for Christmas
Perhaps at some point after they find out about their shared “interest” they decided to help each other. The holidays were a nightmare for both of them and they were going to help each other get through it
I mean, the truce will already stop them from fighting, right?
An idea I had for how they would do that is, pretend it’s not Christmas. Danny would spend the holidays at Vlad’s mansion, and the two would stay there and never get out. Vlad probably has enough entertainment in his house that neither of them would want to leave, so they’d just spend the time and forget it’s Christmas. No outside world, no Ghost Zone, just them.
Another thought is Danny and Vlad doing a gift exchange in hope to lighten up the mood. Vlad would get Danny something expensive he can’t afford, like a telescope Danny always wanted. And Danny on the other hand would get Vlad something money can’t buy him. (Whatever that would be)
Maybe the two even taking a trip to get away from their lives, wither it was somewhere in the Ghost Zone or the human world
There’s so much potential for those two bonding over their shared hate for the holidays
