Ich habe wieder ein neues Produkt in meinem (noch) kleinen Shop. Den praktischen Bondage-Verbinder mit zwei stabilen Karabinerhaken und einem Ring in der Mitte. So kann man perfekt die Manschetten verbinden und zur Führung des Subs eine Leine oder einen Kurzführer fest machen. Ihr bekommt das Teil aus Gummi oder Leder von mir angefertigt.

I thought I would share some of my initial thoughts about my biothane choke collars and leash from the Discerning Specialist shop because I love them so much!
I tested both the slim collar and the standard size collar because reasons.

Lifting my new gear out of the box I was surprised how much weight it had to it! It feels beefy and bossy, and I can tell right away it will hold up to any amount of rough handling I could get myself into. I was pleased that it has the look and feel of leather. It has a matte appearance and its soft and very flexible. Its embossed with a light pattern that gives it a nice leather texture without looking super fake or like it’s trying super hard to trick you into thinking its leather. The edges are clean and rounded and there’s also a nice little groove detail on the outside that feels very on brand for the DSG style (the inside that goes against your skin is all smooth).
SLIM COLLAR
Since I wear my slim choke collar the most, that’s the one I tried first. I noticed right away it’s heavier than my leather slim collar so I weighed them. Both the slim and the regular sized choke collars have a noticeable weight increase
Leather slim collar: 3.5oz (100g)
Biothane slim collar: 4.8oz (136g)
Leather standard collar: 5.3oz (150g)
Biothane standard collar: 6.4oz (181g)
The choke collar design is pretty honed in by now, so I was mostly focused on testing the difference in material and how it feels.
Putting on the slim collar and attaching the leash I noticed right away the more substantial weight of the collar supported the leash better. I don’t normally love to walk around all day with a leash hanging from the slim collar from it because I get free low key chokes all day just from the weight of the hardware. It was easy to forget that the leash was attached to the slim biothane collar.
Pulling on the leash get the same sexy choke results that I get with the leather collar so that’s all good. I was concerned that maybe it might be harder to pull on, but the rolling buckle makes everything slide nicely. I notice that the biothane material doesn’t shift on my neck much on its own, but it’s not so sticky that you can’t easily move it.
After wearing it for 4 hours or more it seems to pick up some oils from my skin and it slides a little more. This doesn’t impact the function or feel, it’s just something I noticed. Probably nobody else will even notice this as most people don’t wear their gear as long as I like to wear it. When I slept in the slim biothane collar I expected it to be kinda hot and sweaty, but I’m happy to report it wasn’t. It didn’t affect my sleep at all.
I really loved the slim biothane collar! It definitely feels heavier and more substantial than my leather collar but it doesn’t change the overall experience of the choke collar. It’s a fantastic alternative for someone wanting a more economical choke collar or for someone thats seeking vegan options.
STANDARD COLLAR
Next I tried the standard collar. The difference between the slim and the standard collar is very noticeable to me when wearing it! I don’t think I notice the difference as much with the leather versions. You might be able to blind fold me then trick me into thinking I have the slim leather collar on when I have the standard leather collar on, but you can’t do the same with the biothane versions.
It’s not the kind of collar I can put on and forget that it’s there so I wouldn’t choose it as something I wear all day long. That being said, it feels very bossy which makes it perfect for a session with lots of heavy bondage. I think the rowdy sub boys will really love this one a lot.
The choking function of the collar works the same as on the standard leather collar and there’s no pinching or any remarkable difference to speak of.
Still worried about it becoming sweaty and uncomfortable I wanted to test and see how the material feels when I got sweaty, so I wore it all day while cleaning the house and doing chores. I dont sweat a ton, but it was a hot day and I was definitely sweating while scrubbing the shower. I didn’t notice that the collar felt overly oppressive or that it contributed to me feeling hot, and it didn’t feel sticky at all. If anything the oils on my skin made it slide around even better.
Speaking of the shower, while biothan is waterproof, the strap keepers on mine are leather (for both the slim and the standard) So, no showering unless your design has all metal keepers. At the time of writing this I don’t know for sure what the final decision will be, but keep in mind of you have a strong feeling about one over the other can always have your collar made how you want. At this point I think there may be some downside to having the metal keepers as they don’t slide into them as smoothly as they do the leather keepers.
As far as complaints go, I only had an issue with the larger collar. I found some uncomfortable edges on the inside where the edges were folded in and it was rubbing my neck weird. Since my complaints, adjustments have been made to make it more comfortable, and the problem seems to have been solved. The edges are now smooth and nothing rubs on my neck.
The other minor flaw is that there tends to be some teeny bits of fuzz in the buckle holes from the internal webbing. Ken is working hard to find a solution to the fuzz in the holes, but it seems to be a pretty standard result for everyone working with this material. It doesn’t hinder the functionality of the collar, it’s just something you might notice if looking closely. It doesn’t seem to go away with a lot of use, but it doesn’t get worse, either. To be honest, I don’t think most people would even notice it, but we are ultra picky.
LEASH
Next I tested out the leash. It’s about 12inches long including the snap, so it’s good for leading sluts around, and it compliments the choking feature of the collar nicely.
I’ve actually been using my bdsm leashes on my dogs for various things, and this leash is great! It’s totally waterproof and worked out great when I took my dogs to the lake. I’m actually considering have a few longer leads made for my dogs, lol. It’s a great material for pets!
I think it looks really sleek and clean, and totally completes the look so I suggest getting one with the collar. The hardware really adds to the high end feel of it, and of course it’s like SUPER durable.
My only suggestion is to make sure you lay it sort of flat to store it. If you just throw it in a bag and forget about it for a week, it won’t want to lay flat for a little while- but with use it will return to the expected shape.

Since I’m mostly a leather girl I didn’t think I would love biothane as much as I do, but its turned out to be a pretty versatile material!
It’s nice and thick so it holds up to any play session, and it has a sexy weight to it that makes it feel high end, and bossy. I like that it doesn’t have a strong plastic smell like a lot of synthetic material has, and you don’t have to break it in like you do with leather. It’s easy to clean and never fades or changes shape so it always looks brand new.
It’s a great option for the vegan folks, and I think the latex people would enjoy it, too!
