Apparently the people at ASOS also found Brenda’s Pigskin Prom dress as fashion forward as I did.
Now it’s just a matter of finding the right hiking boots and socks to complete the ensemble.

Last night I chaperoned prom, which seemed the perfect occasion to wear my second best online purchase ever. It was also the 13th anniversary of the end of Beverly Hills, 90210. Sadly, not a single person recognized my dress. The best comment came from a student who called it “futuristic.” 1991 was so ahead of its time. Another student told me, with great sympathy, that she heard they just canceled 90210 and she was very sorry.
At least I found pantyhose stuffed in the back of my sock drawer. I think they really made the outfit.

Today I went to see a student presentation about black holes in our Advanced Physics class. All I could think of was Beverly Hills, 90210, and Brenda’s double date with Jason and his friends.
Friend: So, what exactly is a Black Hole?
Brenda: Well, I guess the easiest way to explain it, without a working knowledge of fourth dimensional geometry, is that it’s just… A hole… That’s black.

The nice thing about the College Board’s decision to return to a 1600-scale on the SAT is the fact that youth can aspire to earn the same score as Brandon and Brenda Walsh (1190, in case you were wondering). If you’re not quite so ambitious, Kelly Taylor earned a 1050. I do think Mrs. Teasley could have done a bit better in the episode and encouraged Donna to look at test-optional schools, but I still consider her my role model.
