This summer I collaborated with illustrator Erin Wengrovius to produce a fashion editorial for The Spoilers Hand’s fall issue, a whimsical mermaid inspired shoot photographed on location in New Jersey with Erin’s custom sea inspired illustrations. The process and collaboration was a fun experience and the end result is beautiful. Enjoy!

Towards the end of summer I drove up to New Haven Connecticut to visit a friend from college and check out some current photography exhibits. New Haven, the cultural capital of Connecticut and home of Ivy League college Yale is quite the poppin off town. Catering mostly to the college demographic the town is filled with vintage stores, coffee shops, and museums galore. The coolest in my opinion is The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library. Not only is the stuff in it cool, but the building itself is an architectural beauty.

This past summer I was able to be a part of Chris & Chandra’s DIY backyard forest wedding in Upstate New York. The two have been best friends for years, meeting in college and growing together for the past eight years. Chris & Chandra were married amongst all their friends and family in Chris’s parent’s forest backyard, where the ceremony and reception all took place with zero electricity. The centerpieces, boutonnieres, rings, bouquets, lights, and invitations were all made by hand by the couple with love and care. It was an elegant event in the forest filled with live music, camping, community, nature, and love.

This wedding season I decided to incorporate new custom wooden boxes for delivering all the photo goodies to brides and grooms in. Well, they’ve been a hit, and I am going to keep them around. They are simple and beautiful with an easy slide off lid that comes printed with a wedding day image on the top. They come filled with proofs, a thumb drive, and thank-you cards, but can be used for storing wedding day keepsakes or keeping on the coffee table. So pretty!
