So I just watched the new Leatherface movie on Netflix and in my honest opinion…SPOILERS BELOW

It kinda sucked.
I love and adore the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series so I was stoked when a new movie was announced but this movie really fell flat.
I felt like it was trying to give more fan service then give us something terrifying that the other movies did.
The movie was way to fast passed, I’m almost every movie in the series it takes time setting up the setting, the mystery, the suspense but with this movie…it gave us an old woman getting kicked out of her home by angry young adults when she OWNED THE HOUSE!
and not even giving us time to adjust to that it immediately throws us into the woman dying and Bubba flipping shit in the sheriffs car.
You don’t even really get attached to any of their characters enough to feel anything when any of the characters die, the movie in general just…falls flat. It’s just pushing the narrative of too many mashed stories and trauma. Like with Lila, we know she was in a school shooting but it never really touch’s on it she just gets PTSD when touching guns and has two very quick flashbacks that are blink and you miss it, that’s it.
ALSO HE SHOULD HAVE DIED AT THE END, TWO SHOT GUN ROUNDS TO THE CHEST AND A CHAINSAW TO THE GUT AND JAW?! HELLO!? He also sunk to the BOTTOM of a pool, WE WATCHED HIM BREATHE A BIG LAST BREATH
I’d give it…a 4.5/10
There where still things I love about the movie! The kills where great, the design of leatherface was great and…that’s kinda it.
