My dad used these cameras, along with the full accompaniment of studio and dark room trappings, to run a small photo business in the 1970’s. They then took lots of photos of his new family in the 80’s, and were secreted away by me on adventures as I learned to take photographs in middle school. On my most recent trip to visit, he asked if I wanted to take them - YES. Is this a trick question? One of them even had a roll of film in it from nine years earlier. Shooting with these cameras and lenses again feels so natural and satisfying. #objectsofaffection

Finally!!! @bluemooncamera came through with some @filmferrania P30 film! Funny enough, I’ve been wanting to shoot this film for a while, and hadn’t been able to get my hands on any in NYC, atleast. I’ve decided to pair it with my very beautifully brassing(would you call this brassing?) Hasselblad Xpan! I can’t wait to see the results! I want to develop it in @ilfordphoto Ilfosol 3, can’t find any instructions on it, anyone have any tips to shoot and develop this film?

Pocket Noir. Perfect Art Deco compact folding viewfinder for silent street photography. 

Kodak Flash Bantam. Introduced in 1947 by Eastman Kodak U.S.A.

Features a 48mm f/4.5 coated lens. Takes 828 film or converted 35mm. 
All of the focusing is done by eyeing distances (scale-focus) similar to zone focusing. 

I find a few of the Bantam series models at antique shops around the country. From my experience they go for around $40-60 in stores, but can be found at lower cost on internet auction sites. 

This beautiful machine does not rely on electronics or batteries; lending to it’s years of reliable use. 

Grab a light meter, your trench coat and maybe, for a moment, you will find yourself on a foggy street in 1947. 

Repost from @_davidfortner_ Some of you may have noticed that I have a new addition - the Minolta Hi-Matic 7S II rangefinder. I put a roll through it earlier and I’m on the fence with it. While it’s a nice camera, I probably should’ve waited, but that’s just not my style. I ended up shooting it in auto today since I didn’t have my light meter with me. Most shots were between 5.6 and 11 which is supposedly the sweet spot for this lens. Guess we’ll find out next week sometime. If I don’t like the results, expect it to be for sale/trade.
