As we approach the second anniversary of the Schitt’s Creek finale, I’m revisiting some of my favorite articles:

“Schitt’s Creek” ends with an episode (and a final season) that truly highlights one of its greatest strengths of a show: it’s ability to make its characters grow without fundamentally changingthem.

Dan: I want to give it space, because I do hope we can do something in the future.  I do hope that something crosses my mind that feels worthwhile to explore in terms of–

Google: Feature-length film!

Dan: That’s a lot. But I will say I loved our holiday special, I would love to maybe tack something on down the line.  But again–

Catherine: Purim

Dan:  Purim.

FRANKENWEENIE (Character Posters)

Director: Tim Burton

Writers: John August

Synopsis:

From creative genius Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.

The Second City 50th Anniversary Event in 2009.

I got to speak briefly with both Joe Flaherty and Harold Ramis before the show, and both were apologetic before the performance (Ramis said: “Good luck with the show tonight”).  In truth, they were under-rehearsed (on the panel, Catherine O’Hara revealed that they had put it together via e-mail, with one rough run-through Friday afternoon).
