Centaurs and Lapiths. From the South Metopes of Parthenon, Acropolis, Athens (Greece), c. 5th century BC.
The metopes on the south side of the Parthenon showed the contest between Centaurs and Lapiths. Centaurs were half men and half horse and Lapiths were an Aeolian tribe. The contest was won by Lapiths but there were many Lapiths who were also killed in this battle. Centauromachy was the mythical war between Centaurs and Lapiths.
My entry for this month’s Character Design Challenge, the theme of which is centaurs (one of my favorite things)!
This fine young lady was unlucky enough to lose her legs, but wealthy enough to commission a fully articulated, magi-tech prosthetic featuring inlaid mother-of-pearl, gold plating, and supple leather.

Y’ever notice how mermaids and female centaurs always be making an effort to cover up their lady-chests? You’d think they’d be more concerned with protecting and/or embarrassed about showing their fishy papillae and their enormous horse-holes.
Anyway, I think I’m starting to get the hang of ProCreate.
And on an unrelated [but somewhat revealing] note, I wouldn’t bother watching either of the Percy Jackson films, if I were you. They are NOT good.
