LIVE

I make this ultimate Chainmaille wallet chain by hand. I start with raw wire and end with a prefect weld to fuse every link into place. This thing is ready for decades of heavy use. This is the toughest Chainmaille on earth and I guarantee my welded chains for life.

I made this one from Stainless Steel wire. The clasp is a solid 316 Stainless swivel clip on I use a solid Stainless Steel slit ring on the other end where your wallet attaches. This wallet chain is ready for anything and will never tarnish or rust.

I made this Infinitized necklace from 2,208 handmade links of 19 gauge Stainless Steel. It’s a Euro 4-in-1 tube that is twelve rows around. I made nine of the rows from smaller links and three of them from slightly larger links. Doing this makes the whole thing have a natural curve to it, it wears like it knows what to do on your neck, which makes it SO COMFY! In other news, The Portland Saturday Market is closed now because of the fires in Oregon and our last week of the year this year is going to be Sep 26th anyway because COVID-19 made it so that we didn’t have enough vendors to stay open. Long story short, Saturday Market is where I make my living, and even after we reopened this year it was down 75% for me, now I’m out of work again until we reopen in March 2021. Due to trust and love or due to stupidity and hubris, my spirits remain high! By the way, I do custom work and I sell on my website, nudge nudge

I made this delightfully luscious 25 inch long continuous necklace from solid 14K Gold! The pattern is called GSG. I started with raw gold wire, wrapped the links around a rod, cut them with a jewelers’ saw, and then hand assembled them with pliers taking the time to even weld each one using my nifty pulse arc welder as I went. This necklace FEELS LIKE GOOD MAGIK, and it is! ‍♂️ I’m discovering that I love working with gold, so if you happen to be in need of a custom solid gold chain that is handmade and heirloom quality, slide into my DMs

This one is special. I made it custom for one of my favorite people to make things for. It’s solid 14K gold! For my gold work, I hand form and then saw cut each link, and then as I assemble them, I weld each one using a pulse arc welder. This is my favorite work to do precisely because it takes the most time and skill

Psst, I’m about to start in on another solid gold piece for someone and I already can’t wait to show it off! These sorts of custom orders are what is keeping me alive through these tough times for small businesses like mine, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU ALL!

Woweee! I made this one for my mom. It’s about 1,000 links made from super thin 22 gauge Fine Silver. I made it using Euro 4-in-1 with a smaller link diameter for the rows along each edge. In addition to all that, I welded each link using this pulse arc welder I just got. IT IS SO PRETTY AND COOL!!! Thanks @maryditson for bringing me into this world ❤️

Here’s a wild one I just finished! It’s a solid copper 4-in-1 t-shirt I made for a very cool electrician. To make it, I used scraps of 4/0 copper wire (19 strands of 12 gauge in each) that he provided! The process was like this. I un-spiraled the wire strands, wrapped each around a 1/2” diameter rod, cut the links by hand from that coil, and then assembled all 4,000+ links. This beast weighs about 28 pounds!

I made this SUPER SNAKEY Six Sided Full Persian necklace from 1,134 handmade 22 gauge Stainless Steel links. So tiny!

I’m running a wild sale online right now because now is a super good time to support us small local businesses if you can! I’ve been selling my work (mostly at markets and events which are now not an option) for over 20 years‬ ‪and if I may be frank, this is the first time I’ve ever been scared for the future of my business. It is the first time I’ve been not sure if I can make it through. I am scared that after the health crisis, many otherwise viable small local businesses will never recover.‬ ‪I know this is direct, but if you have been thinking about buying something from me, now would be the time! Plus my stuff is cool and it would mean a lot to me personally. Stay safe and look out for each other ❤️

To make this stacked Byzantine ladder curve to fit perfectly around a neck, I make the outer sections from larger AR links and I double up the connector links (the horizontal ones) and then make the inner row from my normal Byzantine (two parallels) size. It woooooorrrrrkkkkssss!

This is as thin as I go. It’s a perfectly tight Byzantine necklace made from 24 gauge Stainless Steel. To make the links for this I wrapped the wire around a piece of 16 gauge wire

I love this wildly chunky double wide Byzantine bracelet! It’s got some little tricks to make it all sit right. The first trick is to make the center links of the parallel sets a smaller AR than the ones that sandwich each of them. This makes them all know where to be instead of bunching up all weird, like they do otherwise with three link Byzantine. The other trick is to connect the two Byzantine strands through the four apposing cage links so that they all point symmetrically together towards the center of the connector links. When you do these two tricks together, the smaller parallel links also provide just enough extra space needed for the connector links ‍♂️

Tiny Japanese 12-In-2 bracelet made from 22 and 24 gauge Stainless Steel! To make the 24 gauge links I wrapbthe wire around a piece of 16 gauge wire

Also I’m drooling RN

Look at this wild one made from the beautiful Japanese Twelve In Two pattern. It’s special though. To make it curve perfectly to a point at the center, and lay flat all around, I used two wire gauges (19 and 18 gauge, both Stainless Steel) and seven different link sizes. Stoked on how well it worked!

I made this two row wide Japanese Helms Weave necklace from 19 gauge Stainless Steel. I make the point by running the pattern diagonally and then using smaller AR rings for the inner row of captured links. This makes the inner row slightly shorter so that the whole thing curves just enough to make it lay flat around a neck.

It feels really good to be back in my workspace making chains! This one is a Full Persian infinite necklace (no clasp) I made wonderfully bulbous by using five different wire gauges and six different link diameters! I love it!

I love making Micro Maille! This one is a classic Byzantine necklace I made from 22 gauge Stainless Steel. To make these tiny links I wrap the 22 gauge wire around a piece of 14 gauge wire.

I made this wild necklace from 20 & 19 gauge Stainless Steel. I used all sorts of random arrangements of Japanese 12-in-2 and just kept tweaking things here and there until it looked good. I think it turned out looking great!

I had this design stuck in my head for months and the only way to get it out was to make it. It turned out way cool so I think I’ll be making a bunch of crazy Chainmaille lights!? I made this first one from four different wire gauges, 11 perfectly graduated link sizes, all arranged in an expanding tube of 4-in-1, with one large loop of wire holding the center out. I’m so stoked on how this turned out! I’ve got it all set up as a hanging pendant light with a nice 40W clear bulb and simple 10 foot cord w/ a built in switch.

Feels good to be back after I got to finish my 2018. and start 2019, with a well earned break! Well, a break from posting at least, ‘cause I never really stop making stuff I’m back at it now though! Here’s this crazy four row wide GSG necklace I particularly like! To make it, I used both 18 gauge and 19 gauge Stainless Steel wire, from which I made four different link diameters, and then arranged them to make the pattern curve. All this is to say, it lays naturally, perfectly, flat around your neck. I sure do love a clever trick!
