he’s waiting by the street that leads to the carnival, waiting for you as you walk down to the venue and it’s just like he texted you. He’s standing at the same spot he told he would and wearing the same clothes he said he would. and a smile, a smile that can light up planets of planets. He suggested the carnival date after you told him you’d never been to one??? and yeonjun is so desperate to change that.
So he takes you to all the major booths, the cotton candies, the aiming game where he tells you he’ll get you the plushie and he ends up failing once, twice, a lot and instead you get it when you try and you give it to him. (which you tease him a lot about but stop when he gets very pouty) (also he won’t admit but he lowkey loves the plushie you won for him that he’s carrying around rn)
Next is the ferris wheel, which Yeonjun reluctantly comes along with you (you remember him texting you about how his friends call him “the king of heights,” this is certainly not how you imagined said king. but he cutely pretends to be brave until the wheel almost midway and he nervously attempts to hold your hand.
and you give in and intertwine your hands with his, (at least the ferris wheel paid off, yeonjun thinks as you walk off the wheel).
Lastly you get ice creams, cue him hyping mint choco a lot then being super bummed out because they ran out of it :((( you end up having vanilla because well, vanilla is the greatest (second greatest, yeonjun interrupts) ice cream flavour.
and he walks you home, which to be honest makes you sad because you didn’t want the night to end yet :( this was the best first date you could have ever asked for <3 and despite yeonjun’s anxiety, you end up scheduling a next date right before you go home.

You chuckle to yourself as you shove your phone into your coat pocket, making your way to your living room to close the blinds before leaving your apartment. Today was the day Soobin was going to meet a friend he hasn’t seen for a while, and of course he asked you to come along so he wouldn’t be alone, plus he’s been attempting to play cupid with each of his friends that he had introduced to you so far.
Valentine’s day was around the corner and it gradually started to lose its meaning to you after you broke up with your long term boyfriend, Choi Yeonjun. He was the most selfless, laid back, understanding, not to mention absolutely attractive boyfriend—well ex-boyfriend now. He was your first legitimate relationship along with many other firsts, so undoubtedly, you were deeply attached to that relationship. You were certain that you would be comparing every guy to him, even though no one had been able to top him.

Yeonjun had always found you to be a little interesting. He imagined this conclusion occurred when the both of you were bright-eyed six year olds still new to the wonders of the world.
It was at this time, six years young, when you became enamored with limes and lemons. While other kids your age were invested in dolls and toy cars and legos you had taken an interest in fruit. It was weird.
Even still, Yeonjun would listen to you drone on about them, how they were a little “family”. He assumed it was your observant nature paired with your kind heart that enlightened you to the fact that limes were given less love than their lemon counterparts. It was then that your fight began, you were determined to bring limes out of the lemon’s shadow.
Yeonjun was drawn into your affair with limes when you made him your business partner in your limeade stand: step one of your plan to give limes the love and respect that they so desperately deserved.
And though you did sell a decent amount of limeade, it was because the adults who passed by saw a kid passionate about their stand and didn’t want to ruin the dreams of what they thought to be a young budding entrepreneur.
The limeade itself was awful.
It took Yeonjun one sip to realize that you definitely did not know how to make it. The bitter taste that stung his tongue was enough to make it clear you didn’t put in nearly enough sugar. Somehow, and at the time he had not been aware why, the smile on your face and the twinkle in your eyes made the limeade taste just a little sweeter.
