[3:22 p.m]

yeonjun’s most extravagant form of showing affection is throwing you over his shoulder. he especially loves hearing your protests and squeals when he pats your ass to rile you up.

“jun put me down this instant!” you shout when the taller man tosses you over your shoulder like you’re some sort of rag doll.

yeonjun ignores the beating of your fists against his back as he carries you from the bedroom to the kitchen so he can grab a glass of water.

“don’t fight it, love.” yeonjun laughs at your sigh of defeat, pouring the cold drink into a cup before downing it.

he heads back towards your shared bed, delicately laying you down on your back before crawling up to nuzzle into your neck.

“you’re really annoying, you know.”

“mhm whatever,” yeonjun mumbles, already drifting off to sleep.

———————————————————————

I’m not too sure when it began. Probably around springtime; that’s when he dyed his hair bright blue and drunkenly said my eyes were pretty under the moonlight. Since then, he’s acted as if I don’t exist. Why? Why must my heart yearn for someone who doesn’t give me the time of day? It hurts so much, but I can’t help it. Another day goes by but nothing has changed. Is it worth it?

Is he worth it?

You remember that night so vividly you could convince a random stranger it had happened yesterday.

It was a small house party in the dorm with the boys. TXT had just had their second comeback, and everyone in BigHit had decided to celebrate with a party. You were only there upon Beomgyu’s request; you two had been friends since childbirth and had supported him throughout the entirety of his training. He cherished you as a supportive friend and introduced you to the rest of the boys when he debuted. That’s when you met him.

The first thing you remembered about him was how much he smiled. His eyes formed little crescents whenever his mouth turned up and it took your breath away. You thought about it every night after that.

Squeezing past people – some you didn’t even know – you made your way into the closest bathroom. You close the door behind you and go to open up the window. It was too stuffy in the building currently and fresh air is what you needed right now. Just as you thought you were going to get some peace and quiet, the door bursts open and a blur of blue hair stumbles quickly to the toilet before violently vomiting.

“Oh my god, Yeonjun,” you panic before going over to the door and shutting it and locking it. He’s sputtering and trying to form words and that’s when you knew he was drunk. The boy you like is drunkenly vomiting his guts out in front of you, how lucky. “Yeonjun, are you okay?”

You cautiously pull the hair that’s draping over his face out of the way just as he coughs again. You knew what Yeonjun’s limit was for alcohol and it was clear he was far gone.

“Ergh…” he groans, leaning over. You rub his back reassuringly.

“You’re doing great, Yeonjun,” you say. You crouch down next to him and try to look at his face. “I’m going to get you some water okay?”

He doesn’t lift his head but you can tell he’s trying to acknowledge you by the way his eyes slowly open. You don’t know if it’s your instincts due to university where you’re surrounded by drunk people all the time or if it’s just sheer devotion for the boy in front of you that has you pulling his face towards yours.

“Do you hear me? I’m getting you water, so stay here.” You get up and go back out into the party, hustling to the kitchen to grab a cup of water.

He let me touch him’ you think to yourself. ‘He really let me touch him, oh my god.’

You return with the cold drink and hand it to Yeonjun who is still leaning over the toilet. His eyes are foggy and he seems dazed, almost as if he was trying to sober up himself.

“Here, Yeonjun.” You hand him the drink. “This will make you feel better.” He glances up at you before taking the cup out of your hand. Slowly drinking, he reaches up to flush the toilet. You sit back against the wall and watch as Yeonjun does the same.

“Why aren’t you out there with the rest of everyone?”

It wasn’t the ‘thank you’ you exactly wanted, but you still accepted it. He was clearly still drunk, but his stomach had settled which was a good sign.

“Wanted some fresh air,” you say, averting his stare. Yeonjun glances up at the bathroom window.

“The window isn’t even open.”

You furrow your eyebrows at his remark. Huffing, you stand up and yank the blinds up and open the window, allowing a cool spring breeze to enter the small space.

“You’re insufferable,” you say, sitting back down in the same spot as before. You blink one eye as the moonlight seeping into the room hits your face. You notice him staring at your half-lit face, and his intense gaze makes you feel uneasy. “What?”

“Your eyes are really pretty.”

The second thing you remembered about him was how careless he was. Sure, he was a year older than you, but that didn’t mean he was any more mature than you. It actually seemed he was less. He had no problem being a pest around the other members – he loved the attention. He always seemed to get in trouble.

You couldn’t help but want to do something. You wanted the best for him, for him to feel and be the best. All the times you tried to be of some sort of help, to try to be a supporting friend, all that effort, gone to waste.

It hurt so much liking him. You wish you didn’t feel this way towards him. How could you like someone who doesn’t spare you a second glance? Nevertheless, you persisted, like a rallying cry receiving no response.

“Yeonjun, you really should wear sunscreen; it’s not good to go outside without it, especially when it’s this sunny out.”

He ignores you, like he always does, brushing past you as you try to dab the protective substance on his skin. You’re almost impressed by the way he dodges your hand without a word, aimlessly pushing you aside to go talk to Soobin. You watch as his expression immediately changes from an annoyed one to an exuberant one as he makes his way over to the tall boy. Soobin glances at you quickly and you avoid eye contact, not wanting to reveal your jealousy to him. Sighing, you screw the cap back onto the tube and place it back in your bag, throwing the sack over your shoulder. You’re ready to leave; all these wasted efforts have made you exhausted. You’re about to exit the building when Beomgyu pulls you aside.

“Hey, where do you think you’re going? We’re about to go outside and take some pictures for the photoshoot. You should come!”

You want to tell him no so badly; that being around Yeonjun was torture and it made your heart uneasy. But you couldn’t tell someone with that precious of a face, no.

“Okay,” you sighed. He pulls your hand outside onto the balcony where the photoshoot was happening. You stand off to the side as the boys take pictures, all smiling and happy around each other. You can’t bear to watch.

You turn away, leaning over the edge of the balcony and staring out into the streets below. In the distance, there’s a playground, and you watch as two children play tag, a girl chasing after a boy and getting so close to touching him, but he slips out of her grasp just in time. You chuckle pitifully at the irony of it all.

“Hey!” Beomgyu takes you by surprise as he bounds up to you and leans against the railing. “What’s eating you? You look upset.”

“Not upset,” you respond. “Just lost in thought.”

“Sad thoughts.” You go silent.

“That obvious?”

“C’mon,” Beomgyu huffs. “You look like you realized you just failed a test.”

“The only thing I’m failing at is life,” you remark, burying your head in your arms.

“Woah there Socrates,” Beomgyu says, “That was deep. Are you okay?”

“I’m fine Gyu,” you lie through your teeth to him. Glancing over, you watch as Yeonjun laughs with the photographer at the silly photos he took of him. “I think I’m gonna go home, I’m tired.”

“Okay,” Beomgyu says, “Go get some rest.” He hugs you and you leave without a word to the others.

It’s late that night when you receive a dreadful text.

Big head: ‘I know you’re not okay, please tell me what’s wrong.’

You read Beomgyu’s text over and over again, hesitating to even tell your best friend about your childish suffering.

You: ‘Beomgyu, you remember that promise we made when we were 7?’

Big head: ‘Woah, something is DEFINITELY wrong bc ur using my government name. And yeah, I haven’t told anyone any of ur secrets so you don’t get to poke my eye out!!!’

You:This is serious dude…’

Big head: ‘Okay, okay, what is it’

You: ‘This is my biggest secret i’m about to tell you yet’

Big head: ‘Oh geez okay. hit me’

You: ‘Promise not to freak out.’

Big head: ‘No promises’

You: ‘BEOMGYU’

Big head: ‘OKAY FINE I PROMISE!!! PINKY SWEAR ON MY MOMMA’

You stare at your phone’s keyboard, fingers not moving, almost as if your body is physically stopping you from spreading your most vulnerable secret.

You: ‘I have a crush on Yeonjun.’

It takes two whole minutes for Beomgyu to respond and you feel like throwing up.

Big head: “Yeah I kinda figured’

You: ‘WHAT?!?!?’

Big head: ‘I could tell. You stare at the boy like he just cured cancer or something’

You: ‘Oh my god. That’s so humiliating….. am I that obvious??

Big head: ‘I don’t think the other guys know,,,, definitely not Yeonjun. I think I just noticed bc i know how ur brain works’

You: ‘So clearly you can tell he doesn’t reciprocate those feelings’

Big head: ‘Jun is a blockhead. He’s oblivious.’

You: ‘No, he hates me.’

Big head: ‘That’s not true :( ‘

You: ‘Yes it is’

Big head: ‘When you come to practice tomorrow I’ll show u he doesn’t hate u!!!’

You: ‘Absolutely not. I go all the time and each time i do he just ignores me like usual’

Big head: ‘C’mon, for me????’

You: ‘You’re lucky we’re best friends or else I would have strangled you by now’

Big head: ‘YAY!!! SEE U TOMORROW’

You go to bed that night dreading sunrise.

The quiet music playing from inside the practice room is deafening to you. It’s stupid, you’ve been to every single dance practice these boys have done since debut, but this time feels weird. You raise your hand to knock on the door. Do you even need to knock? Why would you knock?

“Y/n?”

You spin around almost too quickly, nearly losing your balance. Standing up straight, you crane your neck to look up at the tall brunette boy in front of you.

“Oh, sorry Soobin,” you quickly apologize, avoiding eye contact with him.

“The practice room isn’t locked, like always,” he says. “Here.” He opens the door for you and allows room for you to pass through.

“Thanks,” you mumble, embarrassed. You walk in, where Beomgyu greets you with a bone-crushing hug.

“Hey!” he exclaims, pulling you down to sit near Taehyun and Hueningkai.

“Hi guys,” you smile at everyone, and you receive greetings back from everyone except him. Just an action as small as that makes you already feel as though you made a mistake by coming. Sighing, you turn your attention away from Yeonjun and back to Beomgyu. “What’s been happening?”

“We’re taking a break right now and playing a card game,” Taehyun says. “Wanna play?”

“Sure!” you exclaim, laying down and propping yourself onto an elbow. Hueningkai deals you some cards.

“Yeonjun hyung wanna play?” Beomgyu shouts over to the boy crouched on the ground by the mirror, on his phone. Beomgyu looks at you and subtly winks and you internally flip him off.

“I’m good,” Yeonjun responds, not looking up.

“Aw c’mon you love to play this with us!”

“I said I’m good,” he says more sternly.

“Party pooper,” Taehyun says. Beomgyu looks at you sympathetically. You shrug.

“Sorry he’s in a bad mood today,” Hueningkai says to you. “He’s not doing so well with this new dance we’re learning. He’s been cranky all practice.”

“Oh, well I’m sure he’ll get it eventually,” you say, being bold and speaking up. “He is an ace, after all.”

“You don’t have to talk like I’m not here, you know.” You suck in a breath as Yeonjun responds to you. He looks up from his phone and passes you a cold glance.

“I-I was just complimenting you,” you defend, cursing at yourself for stuttering.

“I know.” He looks back down at his phone until Soobin approaches him. You watch as Yeonjun’s face visibly lights up in his presence.

“Don’t be mean to y/n because you’re having a bad day Yeonjun,” he says to him.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it to come off that way,” Yeonjun pouts, clearly not meaning what he says. Soobin looks at you and frowns; you’re looking down at the ground. Tears prick your eyes as you just can’t understand what you’ve done to make Yeonjun despise you so much.

The choreographer calls all the boys over to continue practicing before you can even play cards. Throughout all of the practice, you sit on the bench near the door, watching silently until the boys go back to the dorms.

You’re sitting on Beomgyu’s bed while he showers when you receive a text.

Soobin: ‘Hey can we talk?’

Your eyes go wide in confusion. What did Soobin want? You didn’t do anything to him. At least you don’t think?

You: ‘Uh sure’

Soobin:‘Come to the studio on the third floor’

You question why Soobin wanted to be alone with you but go anyway.

You take the elevator to the third floor of the BigHit building and enter the studio room down the hall. Soobin is in there, arms crossed.

“Hey… what’s up, Soobin?”

You sit down and notice that Soobin is visibly nervous. Your worst fear washes over your thoughts, and you pray to god that Soobin isn’t here to confess to liking you.

“Um, so, don’t take this the wrong way,” he begins. “Do you have an issue with me?”

You blink, bewildered. Your mouth drops open as you try to search for an answer.

“Wh-what?”

“Do you hate me? Because you can’t seem to look me in the eyes or even glance at me when I talk to you. So if you have a problem with me I want to hear why.”

“Oh my god, Soobin,” you bury your face in your hands and sit down on the couch in the room. “I don’t hate you at all.”

“Then why do you act so weird around me-”

“I’m jealous of you.”

Soobin goes silent. The silence is so loud that hot tears begin to roll down your face. You’re not sad, just tired.

“H-Huh? Jealous of what?”

“Soobin, what I’m about to tell you needs to remain a secret. Okay? I haven’t told anyone this except for Beomgyu, and that’s because he’s my best friend. I’m trusting you to keep this.”

“Oh, uh, sure, you can trust me,” he says, crouching down to your level. You say those same words you told Beomgyu not even 24 hours ago.

“I have a crush on Yeonjun.” Soobin goes silent once again and you break down in tears. You feel Soobin wrap his arms around you in comfort as you continue to spill how you feel. “And he hates me. I envy all the attention he gives you. It hurts me every time Yeonjun brushes me aside and ignores me. I couldn’t even compliment him today without him seeming pissed. I don’t know what to do and it hurts so much.”

Soobin rubs your back as you continue to quietly sob in the recording studio. Thank god the room is soundproof or else the entire hallway would have echoed with your cries.

“I’m so sorry, y/n. I didn’t know you felt that way. I’m sorry for assuming you felt angry at me.”

“It’s okay Soobin,” you sniffle, wrapping your arms around him into a hug. “I could never hate you.”

“Yeonjun doesn’t hate you, you know.”

“Well it clearly seems like that,” you say, sitting up and sniffling. “He’s clearly in love with you.”

“He’s just like that because we’ve been best friends since trainees,” Soobin chuckles. “Plus I’ve told him plenty of times that the excessive affection is annoying.”

You laugh at that. Soobin doesn’t realize you’d kill to be in his position.

“Well I’m glad we cleared this up,” you say, standing up and wiping your cheeks of any sign of tear stains. Soobin does the same, minus the tears.

“Yeah, sorry if I worried you,” he says, scratching the back of his neck.

“You’re fine, Soobin. I’m sorry for acting weird around you.”

“Will you still come to watch us practice tomorrow?”

“Sure,” you say with a smile. “I’ll be there.”

Soobin and you return to the dorms, wishing each other goodnight and parting ways. You take an Advil and sit back down on Beomgyu’s bed, head swirling with thoughts.

“Where’d you go?” Beomgyu asks, blow-drying his wet hair. He always did take long showers.

“Got some fresh air.”

“Okay.” He doesn’t question you this time. “Scoot over.” You make room for Beomgyu on the bed. He crawls under the covers and looks up at you. You don’t even have to ask. “You can stay over if you want.” You let out a sigh of relief.

“Thanks, Gyu,” you say, getting under the sheets as well. “Today has been stressful. I’ll try to think more positively for tomorrow.”

“You’re coming to practice again tomorrow?”

“Yeah.”

“Okay, well I have to get up in a few hours to practice. We have a comeback coming up soon. I probably won’t be here when you wake up.”

“That’s okay,” you say, yawning. “I’ll bring you guys some food.”

“You’re the best.” Beomgyu turns off his bedside lamp and snuggles deeper into the covers. “Goodnight y/n.”

“Goodnight, Gyu.”

You wake up and Beomgyu isn’t there like he said. You shower and get dressed in some of Beomgyu’s extra clothes that he keeps aside for you whenever you visit. After getting done you stop by the local bakery, picking up some cinnamon rolls and macarons before heading to the practice room.

‘Today will be better,’ you think as you’re walking back to the BigHit building. ‘Today will be different, I know he doesn’t hate me, he’s just a little clingy to Soobin, that’s all. Just act normal.’

You walk into the building readier than ever to face him again.

“I hope she woke up in time to make it,” Beomgyu huffs, reaching for his toes. He and the rest of the boys continue doing their pre-stretch before beginning to practice.

“Who, y/n?” Taehyun questions.

“Yeah,” he answers. “She slept over yesterday, so she’s gonna stop by again.”

Yeonjun groans. At this, everyone turns their attention towards him, eyebrows raised.

“Is that such a problem?” Beomgyu questions, annoyance clearly showing.

“Yeah,” he replies bluntly. “Why do you keep bringing her around, she’s so annoying.”

“Wha– no, she isn’t!” Beomgyu shouts. Yeonjun pays no care to him, laying on his back, arms behind his head while staring at the ceiling.

“Maybe to you. She annoys me so much. She never leaves me alone, always having something to say or just trying to be near me. She’s so clingy. Does she think I like her or something?”

“You are so rude, Yeonjun, what’s wrong with you?” Beomgyu argues. “You have the balls to talk badly about my best friend to my face?”

“It’s just how I feel, don’t get so offended.”

“You’re such an ass-”

The choreographer walks in before Beomgyu could continue his rant, a large paper bag in his hands.

“I hope I’m not interrupting, but, this was left right outside the door. Does anyone know who left it?”

“What is it?” Soobin asks.

“It looks like cinnamon rolls and macarons, from the bakery right near the dorms.”

“Oh, I love cinnamon rolls!” Yeonjun exclaims excitedly, sitting up.

You’re running down the street to god knows where. Tears blur your vision as you hurry back to your apartment, you finally decide. It’s getting harder to breathe, as the realization hits you.

He hates you.

Fifteen minutes prior:

You stand dumbly outside of the practice room door, hand outstretched for the door handle, the other carrying the bakery goods you have brought for the boys.

“Why do you keep bringing her around, she’s so annoying.”

Those words play over and over again in your head like a broken record. Not knowing what to even do, you drop the bag to the ground and turn around. Your mind goes numb and your heart takes over your legs, walking quickly to the nearest exit.

The world seems to get fuzzier and fuzzier as you continue your way down the street. Your phone vibrates, but you pay it no mind. You also pay no mind to the constant ringing of your phone, knowing it to be Beomgyu continuously calling you.

He hates you. He made it clear that you are nothing but a nuisance. Maybe you brought it upon yourself, not leaving the boy to himself. It was bound to happen, you guess, that he would snap at one point. This is just a lesson for you to learn from.

Your legs slow down as you reach your apartment complex. Mind now blank, you greet the front desk and make your way to your apartment. Locking the door behind you, you make your way towards your bed, towards the comfort of your bed. Falling asleep, you’re left alone only with your thoughts. Perhaps it’s best that way.

You don’t answer your phone for three days. You haven’t left your apartment in three days. It’s a miracle that you’ve eaten since there’s no appetite left in you.

It’s sad; there’s no will left in you to even reach out to the people you love most. You don’t think that for much longer, as there’s a knock on your door.

Your name goes straight to voicemail after the fourth ring.

“Day three,” Beomgyu mumbles, hanging up his phone. “Without her coming.”

What has gotten into you? You never miss a practice, even in the rain and snow. Why are you suddenly not coming and not answering his calls and texts?

“Maybe she’s sick,” Hueningkai suggests.

“She would let me know if she was sick, but she’s not answering her phone at all. I hope nothing bad happened to her.”

“Who cares?” Yeonjun pipes up, playing a game on his phone. “It’s day three without any distractions, let’s enjoy it while it lasts.”

“You know what Yeonjun?” Beomgyu seethes quietly.

“Hm?” Yeonjun questions, not looking up from his phone. Before he can look up, Beomgyu has him by the collar.

“I won’t hesitate to put you in your place, even if you are older and taller than me! Y/n is my best friend and she won’t be talked about like that so long as I live! So you better watch your fucking mouth!”

“That’s enough,” Soobin calmly pulls a furious Beomgyu away from a bewildered Yeonjun, who, from the look on his face, cannot believe Beomgyu yelled at him like that. “I’m calling the end of this practice as leader. You both need some time apart to think.”

You drag yourself out of bed, not caring about your current state. Making your way to the door, you wipe your face, attempting to wipe the tiredness and tear stains away.

“Beomgyu, I don’t wanna talk right–”

Opening the door, you’re met with Soobin’s tall frame. He looks at you with a mix of confusion and shock, most likely at the way you look.

“Oh, Soobin,” you blink, crossing your arms in embarrassment. “I wasn’t expecting you.”

“I didn’t think you were. Could I come in? I brought you some food.”

You let him in, squashing your previous actions of avoiding human contact. Even though you vowed to yourself not to see anyone, you couldn’t turn down a visit from Soobin. What would that say about your character?

“Sit anywhere you like, I’m gonna take a quick shower.”

Soobin takes a look around your apartment. He knows you’re a clean person, you always cleaned Beomgyu’s room when he was away, to Beomgyu’s dismay. He hated his stuff being touched, and you knew that. However, from the state of your apartment, Soobin could tell whatever made you upset hit you hard. There are trash bags filled with takeout food containers and empty soju bottles laying around the apartment. Tissues are scattered everywhere, and clothes are piled up around your couch, where open bags of chips lay.

“Sorry for the mess.” Soobin turns around quickly at your voice. Sitting down across from him, you dry your hair with a towel. “I’m not usually this messy.”

“I know,” Soobin responds. He huffs before asking you. “I’m gonna be blunt but are you alright? Did something happen?”

Your eyes go wide. You didn’t expect Soobin to be the one worried about you. Should you tell him the truth?

“I– um, I just wanted to spend some time away from you guys, you know? Nothing personal.”

“I can tell you’re lying. You wouldn’t be ghosting Beomgyu like this.”

“I’m not lying!” you lie. “You guys have a comeback coming up, right? I just don’t wanna be a distraction. I don’t wanna be… annoying.” Your words come out bitter at the end. Soobin’s face drops when he realizes.

“You heard him, didn’t you.”

You freeze. Fuck, you made it too obvious. Of course Soobin is gonna figure it’s about Yeonjun, you told him you liked Yeonjun for fuck’s sake. You cover your face as you begin to slowly sob.

“I’m so embarrassed,” you quiver out. “Everyone’s told me he doesn’t hate me, but I heard it straight from him that he does. So what’s the point anymore? I can’t show my face around the person I like because they just despise me THAT much.”

“Hey, listen to me,” Soobin pleads, grabbing your hands. “Why don’t you give Yeonjun a taste of his own medicine.”

“Wh-what?” you ask, wiping the tears that cloud your vision.

“I thought of this on my way over here. We want you to come back, especially Beomgyu, he’s worried sick that you haven’t called him. So, with that in mind, just come back and ignore Yeonjun. Just act like he doesn’t exist. He’s my best friend but he deserves it. He’s been a total ass. Does that sound okay?”

You blink, trying to process what Soobin is trying to ask of you.

“You just want me to do exactly what Yeonjun has done to me for the past 2 years?”

“Yeah, basically. If you need time to think about it you can just–”

“I’ll do it.” Soobin is taken aback at your sudden eagerness.

“Oh, that was quick convincing.”

“If there’s one thing you don’t know about me, Soobin, is if there’s ever an opportunity to be a petty bitch, I never turn it down.”

You visit Beomgyu the next day. Walking into the dorms, Yeonjun is the first you see, to your demise. It’s mentally crushing to see his face, but you remember what Soobin told you to do. You pass by him without so much of any acknowledgment. He gives you a side-eye as you enter Beomgyu’s room, muttering something incomprehensible.

“Gyu?” you ask as you walk in. He’s on his bed, curled up in a blanket on his phone. At the sound of your voice, he springs up.

“Y/n!” he cries out. Scrambling out of his blanket and off the bed, he rushed over to you and envelopes you in one of his famous bone-crushing hugs. “Oh my gosh.”

“Sorry for not answering your calls.”

“I thought you hated me or something,” he sobs into your sweatshirt.

“Oh no,” you wince. “I could never hate you Gyu, I was just… going through something.”

“You don’t even have to tell me,” he says. “I’m just glad you’re back.” You pull back from the hug and grip his arms.

“No Gyu, I want to tell you. I talked to Soobin too. I need to let you in on something I planned with him.”

You tell Beomgyu what you heard that day and let him know of the plan you and Soobin have put in place.

“Oh, that sounds fun. Yeonjun deserves it. Every bit of it. I’m in.”

“Good,” you sigh in relief, flopping back onto his bed. “Because I’m gonna be coming around to visit again.”

“Yay!” Beomgyu exclaims. “I won’t tell Hueningkai or Taehyun by the way, I’ll just tell them you were in a coma or something.”

“You don’t have to do that stupid,” you scoff, punching his shoulder. “Just say I was sick or something. Don’t worry them like that.”

“Aw, you’re no fun,” he whines. He hands you an Xbox controller. “Mario Kart?”

“Duh,” you say, accepting it. “But be prepared to get your ass beat as usual.”

“Don’t plan on it,” he laughs. You’re surprised when Beomgyu grabs your hand. He gives you an endearing smile. “I really missed you, ya know.” You smile back at him.

“You can’t get rid of me that easily.”

You continue visiting their dance practices. Everyone, well not everyone, seems ecstatic to have you back around. It almost feels like a second home, the practice room, and part of you is glad to be back too.

Yeonjun is distant, as usual. But you’re slowly learning to ignore the cold glares and not give him any of the attention you used to give him. In fact, because of the talk you two had, you and Soobin have grown closer. This is probably pissing of Yeonjun, to your delight. Sooner or later, you realize, that ignoring him is becoming a normal daily occurrence.

The boys begin final preparations for their comeback, which includes dying their hair. You’re one of the first people Beomgyu shows, and his freshly dyed hair becomes the only thing he talks about. He even lets you in on a preview of the new songs. You’ve already seen the dance, and you’re super excited for the boys to showcase their new album.

One and a half weeks before the comeback, Beomgyu is having a mental breakdown. Of course, you’re there by his side, helping to relieve the stress.

“I’ve done this plenty of times already, why am I so nervous about this comeback in particular?” Beomgyu pulls at his hair and you’re nearly afraid some will fall out by the way he’s grabbing fistfuls of it.

“Hey, hey, don’t do that,” you grab his bunched up hands. “You’ll be okay, you’ve been practicing for forever.” He lets out a huge sigh. You frown, worried for your best friend. “Here, I’ll go make you some tea to calm your nerves.”

“Thanks so much, you’re the best.”

You walk out towards the dorm kitchen, and unfortunately, Yeonjun just happens to be there heating a bowl of ramen. You almost freeze in your spot but you catch yourself, remembering the plan.

Going in, you don’t spare him a glance as you reach into the cabinet for a tea packet, but you can feel his eyes follow you as you walk in. His arms are crossed, leaning against the counter as he waits for his ramen to cool down from the boil. You grab your electric water boiler you keep around the dorms and fill it with water. As it begins to heat up, you begin to worry as Yeonjun doesn’t leave the kitchen.

As the water begins to boil, you turn around and wait. You mirror Yeonjun’s position, crossing your arms. The silence is deafening as you stare down at your feet.

“My hair is pink now.”

You freeze as Yeonjun speaks to you. He hasn’t spoken to you in weeks, and you’re confused as to why he decides to say something to you now.

“Cool,” you mumble after a few seconds, still looking down. Yeonjun crinkles his nose at your response.

“What? Aren’t you gonna touch it or something like you usually do?”

His response surprises you, and you internally grin. He’s angry. You don’t respond, and the whistling of the tea kettle breaks the silence once again. You grab a mug from the shelf and pour the boiling water into it before dipping the tea bag into it.

“Don’t flatter yourself,” you say confidently as you turn around to walk out. Looking at his surprised face, you glace down at the pot on the stove. “Your ramen is getting cold by the way.” Yeonjun’s jaw drops and you exit the kitchen satisfied with yourself.

You hand Beomgyu the mug when you get back to his room. He thanks you and gladly accepts it.

“Be careful it’s still hot.” Beomgyu takes careful sips and you lean back against his headboard, visibly happy with yourself.

The comeback comes faster than you thought. Sooner or later, you’re watching your best friend and his teammates showcase their new song for their fans. BigHit throws a celebration party as usual, and this time you stay connected at the hip with Beomgyu since he is now old enough to drink. Still, as his sober monitor, you try to interact with the staff and the rest of the members.

You’re having a great time, enjoying the celebration. All of the fun cuts short as you’re harshly pulled away from Beomgyu and pulled into an empty hallway.

“Ow, what the fuck?” you yell, yanking your arm away from whoever dragged you here. Your eyes go wide when you look and see a very intoxicated Yeonjun. He’s pissed.

“What’s your problem??” he yells at you. You’re physically taken aback at his sudden outburst.

“Excuse me?” you exclaim, rubbing your sore arm.

“You’ve been ignoring me for weeks! The fuck did I do to you?” he angrily slurs. You roll your eyes at his obliviousness. Seeing this, he grabs your arm again, drink sloshing in the cup he’s holding in the other hand. “Don’t fucking roll your eyes at me. Answer me!”

“Don’t fucking touch me Yeonjun,” you yank your arm back. “I don’t have time for this. It’s your celebration party for fuck’s sake. Go celebrate. And stop drinking, you’ve had enough, clearly.” You see Beomgyu out of the corner of your eyes stumbling towards the bathroom. You walk away from Yeonjun, but not before he menacingly yells at you again.

“Hah, going back to Beomgyu again I see. You’re so desperate.”

That was the final straw. You whip your head around and look him dead in the eyes.

“I hate you, Yeonjun.”

Tears brim your eyes as you run towards the bathroom. Opening the door, Beomgyu is slumped over on the toilet seat, mumbling to himself.

“Hey, Gyu, I think that’s enough.” You grab his cup and pour the remainder of his drink down the sink. You glance out the window as you rub his back, and the tears begin to roll down your face, as you realize you’re back in the same place as you were at the last celebratory party. Only last time, Yeonjun was in Beomgyu’s position, and it was the last time he had ever said anything nice to you. “C’mon, I think you should go to bed.”

He mumbles in apparent agreement, and you let him grab onto your arm for support. Walking out of the bathroom, you scan the room for Soobin. You find him amongst the crowd, and going over, you let him know you’re heading back to the dorm with Beomgyu.

“Hey, is everything alright?” he asks in concern, noticing your teary eyes. You wince, eyes traveling over to Yeonjun who’s across the room pouring himself another drink.

“Go ask Yeonjun. The plan is finished. I don’t want anything else to do with him anymore.”

Soobin is left speechless and you exit the room and go down to the dorms. He follows your gaze over to Yeonjun and strides over to him.

“Hey Soob– hey!” Soobin grabs the freshly poured drink and tosses it in the trash. “What was that for??”

“What did you say to y/n?” Yeonjun grimaces at the mention of your name.

“What about that bitch?”

“Are you serious right now Yeonjun, right after our comeback you finally decide to become the king of the asses? What’s your problem?”

“What about it? She’s been ignoring me because she hates me, it’s irritating.”

“Quite the opposite, asshole,” Soobin seethes. He turns around, storming out.

“Wait, what?” Yeonjun confusingly shouts at him. Soobin ignores his calls, going down to the dorms to see you.

Once you’ve finally tucked Beomgyu into bed, there’s a knock on the door.

“Who is it?” you ask, praying it’s not Yeonjun. Your tears have finally dried, so you can’t handle another headache, especially since now that Beomgyu is asleep.

“It’s me,” Soobin’s voice calls out. You let him in, and he rushes in, grabbing your arm. You wince and he pulls back, noticing the developing bruises on your arm. “Did Yeonjun do this?” he asks incredulously.

“Beomgyu’s asleep,” you shush him. “Let’s go to your room.” Soobin takes you to his room, where you cautiously sit down on the side of his bed.

“What did Yeonjun say to you? Did he grab you?” Soobin asks worriedly.

“Yeah,” you wince, rubbing your arm. “He just blew up in my face, accusing me of ignoring him, which, I guess he was right about.” You pause as the recent memories come flooding back. “I told him I hated him.”

Soobin goes quiet. Raking his hands through his hair, he sighs.

“I knew he could get mad, but I never thought he would get… violent.”

“It’s okay, Soobin, I don’t want this to affect you and the others, especially right after a comeback.”

“I’ll think of something,” Soobin says, standing up. You put your face in your hands, smearing the remainder of your makeup on them. “He won’t remember tonight though.”

“I don’t care if he does or doesn’t. I’m done wasting my energy on him.”

You stand up and Soobin embraces you.

“I’m not gonna tell Beomgyu this happened. Which reminds me, I should probably get back to him. Make sure he doesn’t throw up in his sleep.”

“That’s fine,” Soobin says, walking you to the door. “I’m so sorry this happened.”

“Well,” you shrug. “It was bound to happen at some point. Goodnight Soobin.’

The following days were tough. No longer were you trying to ignore Yeonjun, you were avoiding him altogether. You let the boys continue with their comeback in peace, silently cheering them from the side. Beomgyu knew nothing of what happened that night, which you were glad for. The bruises on your arm were hard to hide, but thankfully the weather was cold enough where you could wear long sleeves.

You were walking back one evening from Beomgyu’s room towards the exit of the dorms when you saw Yeonjun walking your way. He glanced at you and almost instantly, you turned away and started walking the opposite way.

“Hey!” you heard Yeonjun yell after you, and you began to increase your pace, not caring where you were even going at this point. You hear Yeonjun’s footsteps approaching quickly, and you nearly take off in a jog. “Wait!” Yeonjun grabs your bruised arm.

“Go away, Yeonjun!” you yell, jerking your arm out of his grasp in pain.

“Woah, what?” he questions, holding his hands up in defense. “What’s your problem? I just wanted to talk.”

“I don’t wanna talk to you, Yeonjun. Just leave me alone.”

“Well that’s a first. You hate me or something?” he asks in a joking tone.

You feel something break in you. You don’t know if it’s your heart or your soul, but it hurts so much. The tears return, and you break down in hysterics.

“God, you’re such an idiot Yeonjun!” you cry. You push past him, running towards the exit.

“Y/n?” Beomgyu peeks his head through his doorway at the sound of your voice and immediately takes off sprinting once he sees you running.

“Y/n!” Beomgyu calls after you, and you’re almost to the elevators when you collapse on the ground, clutching your arm. “What happened? Are you alright?”

He notices you clutching your arm and you don’t stop him when he rolls up your sleeve to reveal the bruises on your arm. He looks at you in distress, and when you look at him with tears in your eyes, he knows instantly. You don’t stop him when he takes off back towards Yeonjun.

“What did you do to her?!” Beomgyu grabs Yeonjun by the collar and pushes him against the wall.

“Woah what? I didn’t do anything to y/n I just wanted to talk to her,” Yeonjun defends himself.

“That’s not true.”

The two boys turn their heads towards the new voice. Soobin stands in the hallways, having witnessed everything.

“What? I’m so confused right now,” Yeonjun declares.

“I knew you wouldn’t remember,” Soobin shakes his head, walking towards the pair.

“Remember what?” Beomgyu yells, tightening his grip on the boy’s collar.

“Being drunk off your ass at the party and grabbing y/n while yelling in her face.”

“You what?!” Beomgyu seethes at the older boy.

“Why would I yell at her? She hates me clearly, she’s been avoiding me,” Yeonjun continues defending himself, unaware of his actions.

“She doesn’t hate you, you ass! She likes you! She has since she practically met you!” Beomgyu declares. Both Soobin and Yeonjun freeze as your biggest secret slips past Beomgyu’s lips.

“Wh-what?” Yeonjun stammers.

“Beomgyu, let Yeonjun go.” Beomgyu hesitates, but he listens to Soobin. Yeonjun slumps to the ground in disbelief.

“She likes me…?” Yeonjun looks over towards the elevators where you were, but you’re long gone.

“Yes!” Beomgyu yells again.

“I-I never would have thought that.”

“She’s been showing signs of it for the longest time but you’ve been so blind and ignoring her that she thought you hated her! That’s why she’s been ignoring you!” Beomgyu continues to spill everything. Soobin shushes him.

Soobin crouches to Yeonjun’s level. He stares at the ground with his hands in his hair.

“I fucked up… oh my god I’ve fucked up.”

“What do you mean?” Soobin asks.

“I-I like y/n too.”

“What?” Beomgyu and Soobin exclaim in unison.

“You sure have a hell of a way of showing it,” Beomgyu scoffs sarcastically. Yeonjun looks at the ground in shame.

“Why didn’t you just tell her?” Soobin questions.

“I thought she liked Beomgyu,” Yeonjun mumbles. Beomgyu throws his hands up in disbelief.

“Oh my god, dude we’ve been friends since birth. She’s like a sister to me.”

“She’s just always around you, and you guys always hang out. I guess I was jealous of you two,” Yeonjun admits.

“You’ve never given her the time of day, that’s why,” Beomgyu says. Yeonjun hides his face in embarrassment.

“I hated thinking that there was more a chance of her liking you than me. I tried to convince myself I didn’t like her but I guess I just came off more as an ass towards her. I didn’t want to show any possible interest that would reveal my feelings. And now I’m fucked. She’s gonna hate me forever now.”

“Not if you go talk to her. Beomgyu, give Yeonjun y/n’s address.”

“Hell no!”

“Just do it.”

Beomgyu hesitates but still gives it to him. Yeonjun gets up and turns to Beomgyu.

“I’m sorry man, I never meant for it to get like this. I really like y/n. I just didn’t know what to do about it.” Beomgyu puts his hand on Yeonjun’s shoulder.

“I love you, man, like an older brother. But if you break her heart, I’ll never forgive you.”

“I won’t. I swear on my life,” Yeonjun promises. They embrace, and Soobin places his hand on Yeonjun’s back.

“Go Yeonjun, she needs to hear those words from you herself.”

Yeonjun nods before rushing out the building towards your apartment.

…

Your headache doesn’t seem to go away, no matter how much Advil you take. You can’t believe that happened, and even Beomgyu saw it.

You don’t know what you’re gonna do. You can’t go on visiting the boys while trying not to ever see Yeonjun.

“God, what is wrong with me?” you sob into your hands, more wasted tears towards someone who doesn’t give a damn. “Why is my life like this?”

There’s a knock on your door. You can’t stand the thought of visitors anymore.

“Go away,” you yell at whoever is outside your door.

“Y/n?”

Your blood runs cold as you hear Yeonjun’s voice from the opposite side of your door.

“What the fuck?” You run over to your apartment door and swing it open. “How did you get my address?”

“Beomgyu gave it to me,” Yeonjun says nervously.

“Well tell him he can go fuck himself. Go away means stay away.” You almost shut the door in Yeonjun’s face when he stops it with his hand.

“Y/n please, I want to talk,” Yeonjun pleads.

“No. There’s nothing to talk about,” you say coldly.

“I know everything, please just let me explain myself.”

“Know what?” you snap.

“If you let me in I’ll tell you.” You hesitate before slowly opening the door to let Yeonjun in.

“If you try anything I will not hesitate to call building security on you,” you warn.

“I’m not going to. I just wanna say that… I know what happened at the party.”

“Yeah?” you question, rolling up your sleeve, showing the bruises. “You proud of yourself?”

Yeonjun winces at the sight of them, sick to his stomach that he did something like that to you.

“I’m so sorry. I never meant to hurt you. I never would.” You squint your eyes.

“If you came over to apologize for that, then I’ll accept it if you leave,” you say, grabbing the door handle.

“No please!” Yeonjun pleads. “I-I can’t leave without saying this.”

“Spit it out then, I don’t have time for this anymore.”

Yeonjun is silent, hesitating to tell you his true feelings. He feels so guilty about how he’s treated you in the past that it’s nearly impossible to say how he feels.

“Oh my god,” you roll your eyes, opening the door.

“I like you too, okay!”

Your heart stops at that moment. Those words that you’ve been dying to hear from Yeonjun all these years did not just come out of his mouth. After everything you’ve been through, all the tears spilled, and countless nights of trying to convince yourself he doesn’t care for you at all, and now he tells you this? The door slowly shuts and you wrap your arms around yourself, fearing that this is just another one of his hurtful antics.

“If this is some sick joke then I don’t find it funny one bit.”

“I’m not joking!” Yeonjun exclaims. “I’ve liked you for the longest time, I just didn’t think you liked me back.”

Your legs give out as you collapse on your knees on your kitchen floor. Your hand flies up to your mouth, hardly containing the sobs that begin pouring from it. Yeonjun clambers over, kneeling to face you.

“All these years, you’ve never spared me one glance, not even acknowledging my presence. I tried so hard to give you attention but you’ve always brushed me away. And now you’re saying you like me?”

“I-I thought you liked Beomgyu.”

You gasp and look up at Yeonjun, who’s eyes are glossing over in tears.

“Beomgyu is my best friend! I could never have feelings for him.”

“He said that too, after telling me about how you liked me back,” Yeonjun whispers. You clench your fists as you remember the promise you made with Beomgyu about sharing your biggest secret. “When you were ignoring me I thought that confirmed those thoughts. I didn’t want to reveal any feelings towards you if I knew you wouldn’t like be back.”

“I only ignored you to try to convince myself that you didn’t like me either.” You look away in disbelief.

“Well I guess we were both wrong,” Yeonjun half-heartedly jokes.

You lightheartedly laugh back, the giant weight on your shoulders finally being lifted. Yeonjun touches your knee, and you look up at him. His face shows nothing but pure regret and yearning.

You throw your arms around him, finally able to touch him without the fear of rejection. Yeonjun hugs you straight back, bringing you to his lap.

“I’m sorry I wasn’t straight up with you. I never want to hurt you like that again. I promise to make everything up to you, if you give me a chance.”

You clutch the shirt he’s wearing in your palm, heart at ease knowing that you finally have the chance to start over with Yeonjun.

“Okay.”

His face fills with glee, eyes forming into the crescents that you adore, and he holds you so tenderly that you could live in this moment forever. Bringing a cautious hand to your face, he wipes away your drying tears.

“Even when crying, your eyes are still as pretty as I remember.”

Your heart swells at his words. He remembers that night. The night that changed everything about how you felt for him. Before you can ask him, he beats you to it.

“Can I kiss you?”

You nod almost too eagerly, and Yeonjun cups your face, giving you the most heartbreakingly soft kiss.

“Stay with me tonight?’ you mumble against his lips.

“Of course, for you.”

Big head: ‘Is everything okay over there?’

Big head: ‘Did Yeonjun make you cry?’

Big head: ‘If he did I swear he’s a dead man idc’

Big head: ‘Hello???’

Beomgyu’s texts wake you from your nap. Reaching over from the couch to the coffee table you retrieve your phone, careful not to wake Yeonjun who’s sleeping peacefully under you.

You: ‘Everything’s perfect. Yeonjun is staying over by the way’

Big head: ‘Woah hello WHAT??!??’

Big head: ‘When was this decided??’

Big head: ‘I do not approve of this!!!!!!’

You chuckle at Beomgyu’s replies, sending him one last text before shutting off your phone completely and snuggling back into the warmth of Yeonjun’s chest.

You: ‘night, gyu. We’re gonna chat tomorrow about that so-called pinky promise you made.’

crescents - c.yj | coming soon

I’m not too sure when it began. Probably around spring time; that’s when he dyed his hair bright blue and drunkenly said my eyes were pretty under the moonlight. Since then, he’s acted as if I don’t exist. Why? Why must my heart yearn for someone who doesn’t give me the time of day? It hurts so much, but I can’t help it. Another day goes by and nothing has changed. Is it worth it?

ishe worth it?

he’s waiting by the street that leads to the carnival, waiting for you as you walk down to the venue and it’s just like he texted you. He’s standing at the same spot he told he would and wearing the same clothes he said he would. and a smile, a smile that can light up planets of planets. He suggested the carnival date after you told him you’d never been to one??? and yeonjun is so desperate to change that.

So he takes you to all the major booths, the cotton candies, the aiming game where he tells you he’ll get you the plushie and he ends up failing once, twice, a lot and instead you get it when you try and you give it to him. (which you tease him a lot about but stop when he gets very pouty) (also he won’t admit but he lowkey loves the plushie you won for him that he’s carrying around rn)

Next is the ferris wheel, which Yeonjun reluctantly comes along with you (you remember him texting you about how his friends call him “the king of heights,” this is certainly not how you imagined said king. but he cutely pretends to be brave until the wheel almost midway and he nervously attempts to hold your hand.

and you give in and intertwine your hands with his, (at least the ferris wheel paid off, yeonjun thinks as you walk off the wheel).

Lastly you get ice creams, cue him hyping mint choco a lot then being super bummed out because they ran out of it :((( you end up having vanilla because well, vanilla is the greatest (second greatest, yeonjun interrupts) ice cream flavour.

and he walks you home, which to be honest makes you sad because you didn’t want the night to end yet :( this was the best first date you could have ever asked for <3 and despite yeonjun’s anxiety, you end up scheduling a next date right before you go home.

You wish Yeonjun would simply get lost.

It seemed like the devil himself came up from hell and materialized into said boy. And the boys purpose? To ruin your day, and every single day after that.

Okay maybe thats a bit dramatic, but then again, you’d never be as dramatic as Yeonjun. One time he threw three hundred dollar bills at you and demanded you leave. Or the time he rented your favorite restaurant on your date night and told them not to let y’all in.

He was a pain in the ass, but a creative one, you’ll give him that.

You giggle at the thought, walking aimlessly to the café on campus. You had less than an hour until your next class and didn’t feel like hanging out with your friends in the club room again. You got along with them pretty well, you’re usually not one to pick a fight anyways.

That is unless the fight is between you and a certain Choi Yeonjun. Ah yes, the very bane of your existence, right here in the café you just entered.

Your best friend grins at you as his eyes meets yours, signalizing for you to come sit with a wave of his hand. You almost refuse, figuring maybe its best to save your sanity for today.

You weigh your options, make Hueningkai upset orendure a small coffee break with him and his mostly-enjoyable friends. You look back at the grinning boy himself, and just like every time, you take the bait.

“So she joins!” Beomgyu rejoices, handing you a coffee as your brows furrow in confusion.

“A coffee? For me? How’d you know I was coming?” You smile curiously.

“Kai has your location on and saw you were heading this way so he ordered you a coffee.” Soobin explains, Hueningkai too occupied with his phone to even hear what you said.

“I see,” You laugh, about to bid them goodbye when Beomgyu speaks up again.

“Sit sit, I  saved you a spot right next to me.” He winks, scooting over the café bench to create a seat for you.

“Ah I dont know” You grimace, avoiding eye contact with another boy present. The extremely awkward atmosphere of sitting across from him would make you wanna fall into a hole in the ground. “I should get going! Don’t wanna be late for class!”

“Okay one, you have forty five minutes till class starts. Two, we can drive you back which will save you about ten minutes so you can afford to stay.” Taehyun grins, satisfied with the look on your face.

It was obvious what you were trying to do, but leave it to the boys to not let you go so easily.

“I hate when you make sense” You sigh, sitting down in your ‘reserved’ spot.

“Not as much as you hate Yeonjun” Beomgyu teases as you scoff. The boy across from you just fumbles with his glasses, ignoring everything being said.

“Yeah she hasn’t said a word to him the entire time! It’s like he’s a ghost!” Taehyun teases, laughing as you cringe from being put on the spot.

“He hasn’t said anything either! Yeonjun, are you still with us?”

The two boys banter as you and Yeonjun just silently stare.

Well, more like he stares at you staring at the ground.

“Cut it out!” He whispers sharply, rolling his eyes as Soobin pats his shoulder.

“Anyways,” Hueningkai interrupts, garnering your attention. “We have this charity ball thing that Heejin is throwing for her birthday, and I need a date!” He speaks, turning to make eye contact with you.

“Hey! Not fair! I was gonna ask her” Beomgyu says, grabbing your arm and interlocking it with his.

“She was my friend first!” The younger boy whines, stomping his feet like a child denied a toy in a supermarket aisle.

You smile outwardly but on the inside you were absolutely losing your mind. A charity ball? What was that? You had only seen those in dramas. Girls in poofy dresses and tall heels, guys with suits, and a big cake somewhere that never even gets eaten.

Only to these boys, this wasn’t a drama, this was their real life. Sometimes you wonder how it slips from you that you are friends with some incredibly rich people.

To you, Hueningkai was just a boy you met on the playground when you were six; To others, he was a tech moguls son. First in line to be the next boss of the capital enterprise and a model student.

Sure, your family had money, enough to get by at the least. You never felt jealous nor did you ever allow him to pay for anything. Why would you? You knew your friend couldn’t help that he was swimming in cash, it was a family thing.

The other boys were in similar instances as well.

Soobin’s mom was a badass business lawyer, one of the top in her fields. She was so good she ended up buying the firm she was working for.

Long before Beomgyu was born, his great grandparents invested in a odd mechanics dream. Now he owns seven islands and a yacht big enough to fit a small Texas city population.

Taehyun’s dad was a international world-renowned actor, but that was a story for another day.

Then there’s Choi Yeonjun.

No one really knows where he gets his money, some think he robs banks. some have even gone as far as to say hes in the mafia. All you know is has a big load of cash, and an even bigger mouth to match. In the sense that he never shuts up.

Actually, the fact that he hasn’t said anything to you yet has got to be a new record. By now he’d usually have spat out some weird remark at you.

“Likeshe’d know how to behave at an event like that!”

And there it is.

“What exactly is that supposed to mean?” You fire back, ready to start swinging,

“It means what I just said. Girls like you don’t know how to handle themselves in general, let alone a fancy party”

“A girl like me?” You taunt, standing up.

“Alright that’s enough” Someone speaks as an arm pulls you back. You’re turned to be faced with another boy as an evil plan hatches in your mind.

“Get your dog, Soobin,” You snicker, knowing that comment would set yeonjun ablaze.

“Now you-“

You didn’t get to hear the rest of Yeonjun’s sentence as Soobin drags you out of the cafe. You wave goodbye to the familiar barista on the way out, Soobin’s clutch on your wrist getting even tighter.

As you’re outside you can hear him muttering “One day! One peaceful day! Is that too much to ask?” As you two arrive to his car.

He unlocks it and gestures for you to get in, you oblige, figuring it was the least you could do for ruining his morning. He could get scary when he was mad. He starts the car and then leans back in his seat. All of these signs pointing to you getting lectured.

“Why-“ He starts, before you speak up.

“Soobin-“

“Why,” he repeats sternly, warning you not to interrupt again. “Must you and Yeonjun fight all the time?”

“Ask him,” You respond meekly. “He started it”

“After you pretended he didn’t exist!”

“Isn’t that better than fighting with him?” You squeak, sinking down in your seat.

“I just don’t get it! How did this even all start?” He prompts, you wondering that just as much as he did.

You had all known each other for years, the boys slowly joining you and Hueningkai’s friendship one by one until you were the size you were today.

So where had things gone wrong with Yeonjun? You two used to be so close. In fact, you were closer to him than Hueningkai at one point.

You just remember one day in the school yard, you caught him ranting about how he couldn’t stand you and how annoying you were.

If only he had turned around, maybe he would’ve noticed how you stood there with his favorite lunch you made to surprise him with.

The worst part is how clueless he was to your knowledge, continuing to try to hang out with you despite the things he said. Even telling your friends that you just started ignoring him for no reason. You didn’t owe anyone an explanation, and to be honest, you found the whole situation embarrassing. So you kept the details to yourself, not even telling Kai.

Since then, things went downhill fast.

You had been at each others throats since then, ruining most normal get together’s with your consistent bickering.

Yeonjun started the aggression after he got ‘fed up’ with your behavior. Hueningkai, for some odd reason, thought you two could still get along though. Hence his instance on you all still hanging out. You know he only had good intentions but couldn’t he just let you and Yeonjun be?

“You know this isn’t my fault,” you cross your arms as you look at your lap.

“Jesus christ, you two are going to make me lose my mind.” He responds, putting his forehead on his steering wheel.

You’re about to ask him what he means when you two are startled by a knock on his window.

“Beomgyu!” You smile as Soobin’s window rolls down.

“Oh thank god,” He feigns relief, putting a hand on his chest. “I was scared you guys were like making out or something.”

Soobin groans at the comment as the other boy just laughs, “Whats up?” You ask.

“Yeonjun wants to apologize,” Beomgyu speaks, bringing the older boy into view in front of your window.

You two just stared at each other, you leaning forward and raising your eyebrows, as if telling him to get along with it. You could tell he had no intention of actually apologizing but it’d be nice to get one at least.

“I’m sorry” He sighs, refusing to make eye contact with you. The words had come out muffled and lazy.

Nevertheless, apologies from the boy were rare, his pride always being in his way. So you want to soak this in as long as possible.

The boys must’ve made one enticing deal with him to even get him out here. You knew you were acting a bit immature, but that had never stopped you before.

“I don’t think I heard you, come again?” You smile.

“I said, I’m sorry” He repeats through gritted teeth.

Satisfied, you grin widely, cause screw being the bigger person.

You’re about to respond when he continues,

“That you’re so fuckingunbearable”

Never mind, you take it back. He just knew exactly how to get under your skin. You don’t even think for a split second before moving into a course of action.

You’re livid and you’re going to make sure he feels your wrath, so you do what any sensible person would do.

You attempt to fight him from the window. You almost manage to grab a handful of his hair before Beomgyu pulls him back, You also being pulled to your seat by Soobin.

You’re telling him to let you go but he doesn’t listen, his hand wrapped firmly around your arm. He rolls the window up in an attempt to seal you both off. Good thing you can still give Yeonjun the finger just as well as he can return it.

-

“This has got to end” Soobin stands with his arms crossed at the edge of the couch where Yeonjun lies.

Taehyun and Kai listening as Beomgyu plays some game on his phone, more amused with the whole thing rather than concerned.

“Please just try and be civil with her for once please!” Taehyun speaks up.

“Wait what even happened after you guys ran off to apologize?” The youngest boy chirps in.

Soobin and Beomgyu exchange looks before the latter throws a thick pillow into Yeonjun’s face.

“Yah! What was that for?” He groans, throwing the pillow back as he sits up.

“For not apologizing to her!” Beomgyu explains, actually pissed off.

“You didn’t apologize?” Kai asks as Soobin shakes his head before speaking, “He made another stupid comment and she made a pass at him! I had to stop her from jumping out the window!”

Taehyun bursts out laughing, falling back into the couch as he continues. Leave it up to you to initiate a fist fight.

“It’s not funny! Beomgyu grabbed Yeonjun but the whole time he was yelling ‘Worldstar’!”

“He’s lucky I even grabbed him! With that look she had in her eyes I’m confident she could’ve rocked his shit” Beomgyu retorts.

Yeonjun rolls his eyes as he calls bullshit, though he knows its essentially a fact.

Little did he know that the boys were going to establish a plan.

One that would hopefully succeed and end with you both alive.

But before that, there were more pressing matters to attend to, such as Heejin’s big event.

One that they still hadn’t got you to agree to, seeing as you were somewhat hurt by Yeonjun’s comment. Damn you Yeonjun!

Two days later, Hueningkai stands in the middle of a store (much too fancy for your liking) and presses on about it. He had managed to persuade you out of the house. Which was a bit of an accomplishment in itself.

”Look it’ll be fine, I’ll even buy you a dress!” Your best friend offers, hoping his smile will convince you.

”I just don’t think it’s a good idea..” You speak, avoiding eye contact as he shoves another sparkly dress into your arms.

“Oh come on, I have more than enough money,” he rolls his eyes, “I can buy you one little dress”

Little? The price tag on this dress was no where near little.

“It’s not about the dress Hyuka” You start before the boy cuts you off.

“This is about Yeonjun” he sighs, “Yes I know.”

You know you should jump to deny it, to tell him how wrong he was, but you were never the best liar.

“Which is why you should go,” He says, resuming his browsing through the racks before handing you another dress of your favorite color.

“Look I don’t know what you and him have going on, and he can be a little asshole sometimes I know,” you laugh as he continues, “Which is why you should show him up at Heejin’s”

You know he’s somewhat right. It’d be great to show up all beautiful and stunning to her party. Showing Yeonjun that you could indeed handle yourself at an event like that

Your friend just gives you a thumbs up and drags you to the other end of the store to try the dresses on, knowing you’re thinking about what he said.

Two hours, and one large mango smoothie later, you two finally head out of the mall. You having settled on a gorgeous dress, but not before fighting your friend while paying. You two basically wrestled in the store before he made you a proposition. He’d pay for the dress while you paid for the shoes, all’s fair. You disagreed, feeling you should pay for both things but, you know how convincing this boy is. ‘This is a one time thing’ You had warned, hating him paying for it.

“So you want me to drop you off at home?” He asks, to which you softly nod. “Oh come on! Just cause Yeonjun’s home doesn’t mean you can’t come over!” he complains.

The boys all lived in one fancy apartment, opting to live together before they inevitably split up. How they could stand each other that long? You’d never know.

“I’d just rather not see him right now is all” You shrug, to which he responds “It’s been two days!”

“That’s not even nearly close to the amount of time I’d like to avoid him!”

“Please!” He continues, “I’ll order those pork buns with the panda design on them if you say yes!!”

You could never resist those damn pork buns.

“F-fine!” You hesitantly agree, crossing your arms.

-

“This is mine!” You speak, not loosening your grip on the glass bottle of soda. You had picked out the pack when you and Beomgyu last went on a convenience store run, and you’d be damned if you didn’t get the last one.

“If its yours, why is my name on it?” Yeonjun speaks, gripping the other side tightly. He was standing right behind you, having approached you and attempting to snatch the bottle.

You hadn’t let up though, thus keeping you two in the awkward position of his hands over your body grabbing onto the soda.

“I don’t know! Maybe because you wrote it on there when you knew it was mine!” You grunted, pulling harder. You were mostly correct. He wrote his name on all the bottles the day you brought them over. He just wanted to see you pissed off.

Currently though, he had trapped you against the counter. You hated how tall his stature was, he obviously had the upper hand. Holy shit, had he been working out? Since when was he so strong? You pushing against him hasn’t made him move an inch.

“Why do you always have to fight with me! It’s clearly mine!” He proclaims once again.

“Yah you two!” Soobin appears from the hallway, “Knock it off! I’m trying to watch this show!” He screeches.

Yeonjun, taking notice of how you let your guard down, tugs again at the soda. To which you push back onto him, ready to punch him, that is until the sound of glass shattering registers in your head. It’s too late though, and by then, you’ve already stumbled onto several pieces of glass, and some very sticky soda.

You wince in pain, ready to start yelling. That is, until Yeonjun quite literally sweeps you off your feet. He has you in his arms (geez, when did he start working out?), carefully trying to avoid the mess on the floor. Before you can even protest, he sets you down on the counter, avoiding the shards on the floor. He then quietly proceeds to grab a broom and clean the mess up.

You’re too stunned to speak altogether, trying to ignore your heart beating roughly against your chest. This wasn’t his normal behavior at all, you’d expect him to blame the mess on you and just leave.

You’re drawn out of thought when Taehyun approaches the situation, not even looking slightly surprised. “Where’s Hyuka?” He asks, barely glancing over the mess, as if it was a everyday occurrence.

“He went to go pick up some cakes,” you speak.

You remember how he told you that you’d be fine alone, oh how wrong he was.

“He just left you?”

“The audacity! I didn’t even want to come over in the first place but he bribed me with food.” You roll your eyes, before bring down your hand to clutch your foot. You were met with blood.

Taehyun smiles but then he notices your foot, “Don’t tell me you stepped in it”.

“I did”

“Here let me have a look” He speaks as he lifts your foot up.

“How are you not crying right now?” He trails, visibly cringing.

“What?” You panic, was there a big shard in your foot? How were you going to walk? Did yeonjun seriously just put you in crutches? Okay even you knew when you were exaggerating.

“I’m messing with you” Taehyun laughs, you hitting his shoulder.

You two giggle as he tells you that there’s just a few pieces of glass but that he could get them out with some tweezers. You thank him as he stands to retrieve said tools, ‘my knight in shining armor’ you say.

You were so thankful for your friend, almost forgetting all about the other boy cleaning the mess behind you until he speaks, “You and Taehyun getting close huh?”

“What’s it to you?” You bite back, still pissed off at the altercation.

“He’s my friend.”

“He’s mine too” You retaliate, “It’s none of your business anyways”

“Okay see that’s where you’re wrong”, He argues “It in fact, is my business”

“How?” You challenge, it was unbelievable how fast he could make your blood boil.

“Because Taehyun’s my business..” he starts, “And so are you.”

Ohhellno.

Did Choi Yeonjun, the bane of your entire being, just try to indirectly tell you he cared about you? after all this time? He’s trying to pretend he cares?

“I’mnobody’s business” you grit your teeth, “And if I was, I sure as hell wouldn’t be yours”

“I’m just trying to look out for you.” He explains, digging himself in a deeper hole. When has he ever tried to look out for you?

He hasn’t had one ounce of care for you in a long time and all of sudden he wants to play big brother?

“Look after me?!” You’re full on yelling now, “After you been up my ass about everything for these past few years?”

He stays silent as you press on. “Now you want to act like you care?” You scoff as you hop off the counter, wobbling on your one uninjured foot.

“Tell Taehyun I’m in the living room” You speak, tone laced with venom, not even wanting to look at yeonjun for a second longer.

-

Thee pork buns, a plate of mochi, and a bandaid later, you sit on the couch mindlessly playing on your phone. Kai had returned and taken his rightful place beside you, trying to set up a game on his virtual reality headset.

All was at peace until you spoke up.

You had never confided in Hueningkai about the whole thing, truth be told. The other boys probably had a better idea of you and Yeonjun relationship.

You had held in the bitter taste in your mouth for too long, you needed to make sure he understood the gravity of your dislike for Yeonjun.

“Kai,” You abruptly speak, him looking up to quickly meet your eyes.

“What’s up?” He says, resuming his previous activity.

“Can we talk..?”

After noticing the edge to your voice, he sets the headpiece down and turns to fully give you his attention.

After a few beats of silence he speaks “Is this about the ball? I’m sorry if you felt pressured, i’d never want to make you uncomfortable. So if you really don’t want to go-“

“It’s not about that” You softly cut him off. You swore you heard a quiet sigh of relief as he looks back down.

“Do you know why Yeonjun and I don’t get along?” You question.

The boy just stares blankly back at you, wondering where this is going.

“I used to like Yeonjun, quite a lot actually” You laugh, thinking back to your early school days.

You were used to offering him you lunch when he forgot his, sharing your after school snacks, even small things like lending him a pencil.

You always had his back. So why, the time it mattered most, didn’t he have yours?

“I remember that, you guys used to hang out a lot”

“Yeah well, remember that day we skipped in highschool? When we ran to your house and we ate three tubs of ice cream as I cried over dog movies?”

“I do.., you never did tell me why you were so upset before that though…”

“Well you know how I used to eat lunch with Yeonjun?”

“Yes…” he starts, “Where is this going?”

“I went to give him some food I packed him, and he was talking about me.”

“Well that’s normal, friends talk about friends” he justifies.

“No it wasn’t in that way. H-he called me annoying and said he hated being around me.” Your eyes begin to well, fighting the tears about to fall.

“He said no one really likes me, and that I was just some stupid girl he had to hang out with.” you say, the recalling of the memory hurting as bad as it did in the moment.

You grew quiet as hyuka pulled you into his arms. his larger frame swallowing yours as he caresses your head. Burying your head into his shoulder, words just keep pouring out.

“Why would he do that? He was supposed to be my friend” You sniffle, tears falling freely.

Shhhh, its ok,” He assures.

You don’t even know why you were crying. Maybe it was the pain of losing your best friend at the time ? Or the fact that you had a well unrequited crush on him?

All you knew was that it hurt.

On the other hand, it felt good to get it all out. You had never confronted your feelings head on. It let you release a breath you hadn’t realized you weren’t holding.

Too bad it had to involve you getting snot all over your friends incredibly expensive shirt.

Whatever, you’d deal with that later. right now all you wanted to relish in your teddy-bear like friends comfort. Unbothered.

Well that went out the window the minute Choi Beomgyu spotted you crying.

He started flailing his arms around and accusing the younger boy of making you cry. You just giggled as he denied the accusations, finding the situation funny.

“Well then why was she crying?” Beomgyu asks, interrogating the boy seated next to you.

“There’s only one explanation” The boy talks to himself before pointing at you two.

“You and hyuka have been in a secret relationship for years and you’ve had to break up because he has an arranged marriage!”

Silence fills the room as Beomgyu realizes his conclusion was very very wrong.

“I might have been a bit off..” The boy admits sheepishly.

“Hyuka and Y/n?” Soobin speaks, walking into the room. “I saw it coming”

“Ok no no,” Hueningkai says, standing up. “She was just a little upset over the drama we were watching!”

“Hmm” beomgyu presses on, looking closer at you. “I’ve seen drama tears before, and those are not it!”

“It was Yeonjun”

Another voice speaks, one you hadn’t been aware of before.

Taehyun was sitting there the entire time, out of you and your friends view, in the kitchen. Holding a cup of tea as he stirs sugar into it in an attempt to look busy. You easily call bullshit, he doesn’t even liketea.

Screw their gorgeous apartment, with the thin walls and stupid open concept floor-plan. You never understood why they’d all desire to be in others business that bad anyways. Any little noise could be heard throughout the house (including the time beomgyu knocked himself out on the fridge while sleepwalking

You just sit there, silently praying Taehyun won’t elaborate.

“She was crying because of Yeonjun. The reason they started fighting was because he was shit talking her behind her back.” He speaks, looking disappointed, placing his cup on the counter.

So much for prayers.

“What? But that doesn’t make any sense?” Beomgyu frowns, stomping his feet.

“What do you mean?” Hueningkai reasons, “You know how Yeonjun can be.”

Because he’s in love with her!”

Silence fills the room at the revelation as you all become living question marks.

Beomgyu quickly slapping his hands over his mouth as if the news just slipped.

What !?

Now hold on-

“Why didn’t he tell ME?”

You just sit, your thoughts drowning out their voices. Yeonjun? Choi Yeonjun? In love with you? Yeah right. When pigs fly then maybe you’d believe that.

You call bullshit as you stand from your place, grabbing your shoes as you intend to exit the apartment. You barely make it two seconds when the other boys come running after you, pleading for you to stay.

“You guys are just making stuff up to get us to get along!” You say, frustrated.

“Please just listen to Beomgyu explain! I’m sure it’ll make sense then!”

Make sense? Nothing about this made sense. What, that Yeonjun teased you cause he liked you? He was a grown man, not a child. You didn’t buy it for a second.

Nevertheless, you slipped your shoes off and held onto Hueningkai as he led you back to the living room.

“You have two minutes,” You speak. “Or I’m out of here and we never talk about this again.”

Beomgyu looks taken aback at the statement. And in all honesty, he’s scrambling to explain it in a way where Yeonjun doesn’t come off as a total asshole.

This wasn’t going to be easy.

“Okay okay, so I know this is going to sound bad but, you know how high school boys are!”

“Get on with it!” You roll your eyes.

“The whole reason he called you that is because he didn’t want his friends to think he’d like you!”

“Is it that unbearable for people to think he liked me?” You ask sarcastically.

“No! He just didn’t want you to find out!” Beomgyu informs you.

“Thats really stupid.” Soobin admits, and you agree wholeheartedly.

“He went about it in the wrong way, yes! He just didn’t want to be rejected!”

“So he’d rather hurt her feelings?”

Beomgyu looks stumped at the question before he throws himself on the couch and sighs.

“Yeah he’s an idiot”

You nod your head along but the whole situation dawns on you. Yeonjun liked you? All that time? Why wouldn’t he just tell you?

“He tried to fix things but at that point, he said every time they talked they would fight. But he told me he was okay with that, as long as he was back in her life.” Beomgyu admits, knowing Yeonjun would kill him if he found out he’d repeated it.

However, the younger boy felt it was about time you knew, Yeonjun had kept far too much from you.

You, however, wished you hadn’t heard any of this. You couldn’t believe the time you wasted sobbing over the boy. All because of his stupid actions.

“Beomgyu,” Taehyun starts, “You said ‘In love’ correct ?”

“Yes?”

“As in currently?”

Well shit you think, he still liked you? After the hell you put each other through? All while you were a 110% sure he hated you. This was all too much.

You needed time, and lots of space.

You collect your things, despite protests, and really head out the door this time. They let you go, knowing you needed to clear your head

As you reach the elevator, you’re surprised as it opens just in time.

Only for you to stand face to face with Yeonjun.

-

It’s been a solid week since the incident at the apartment.

Referring to the episode you had as you started sobbing outside the elevator.

Yeonjun, bewildered, helped you into the elevator and even took you home. He didn’t even ask you any questions, just let you sit still as he drove to your place. No words exchanged except for the small ‘Thank you’ you muttered when he dropped you off.

You’ve been thinking of him a lot lately, maybe a bit too much. You look at the corner of your room, the dress sits perched on the chair.

It was the day of Heejin’s infamous social, and you knew how badly the boys wanted you to be there.

Despite you barely talking to them lately, only answering occasional texts and calls.

But could they blame you? You were processing a whirlwind of emotions. At this point, you weren’t even sure what you felt towards Yeonjun. He had hurt you so bad but you knew it was a mistake. Could you forgive him?

Would you be able to keep it together if you saw him tonight ?

You brush the thoughts away as you pick up your phone, making a final decision.

The ringing echo’s in your ear as your friend finally picks up.

“Hey! I was actually-“

“Come over,” You interrupt, hearing Kai’s voice falter.

“I wanna get ready for Heejin’s and I need help” You announce, the boy already celebrating on the other side of the phone.

“I’m so excited! You know you don’t have to-“

“Get over here before I change my mind !”

About two hours after your best friend arrived, you finally deem yourself presentable.

The dress looks gorgeous on you! And the way you did your makeup somehow made you even more stunning than you already were. You were ready, for what exactly? Who knows? All you knew is you were going to have the time of your life in a room full of snobby rich people.

-

The party was shaping up to be better than you expected, a lot more loose than it initially was.

You were having a great time with the boys (sans Yeonjun, which you were thankful for) but it didn’t last too long.

He arrived fashionably late, looking breath taking. But next to him, was a just as breath taking girl. God, she was gorgeous, not even, thats an understatement.

You don’t know why but you felt a bit, jealous.

He approached you and the rest as he held onto her hand, she looked absolutely in love with him.

Great.

You did your best to seem unaffected by the whole thing, I mean, it’s not like Yeonjun had any idea.

So you brush it off and continue nursing a drink that was far too watered down by now. His date wonders off as he talks to his friends.

Pretending you were invisible as well, nothing out of the ordinary.

“You clean up nice” He smiles, before he continues. “I didn’t know you had it in you.”

Beomgyu mentally face palms as he watches the interaction. Geez Yeonjun, could you not be a dick for two seconds?

You ignore him and roll your eyes before speaking, “There’s a lot you don’t know about me.”

He leans in, a bit too close for your comfort, and responds, “Then why don’t you let me find out?”

You physically gag out of reflex, not believing what was happening, before you burst out laughing.

“Goodbye Yeonjun.” You announce before going to the dance floor, hopefully to take your mind off of the interaction.

He was so close to you, his striking eyes, his lips, and his soft hair. All within arms reach, which hadn’t been common for years.

You ignore the beating in your heart as you look back to your table and see the boys arguing: Probably about you being ‘unfit’ to be here.

“Wait, you told her?” Yeonjun yells, baffled; Ready to strangle the lights out of Beomgyu.

“I wouldn’t have had to if you did!” He defends.

“I couldn’t! She wouldn’t even give me the time of day!”

“And who’s fault is that?” Taehyun speaks up.

Yeonjun sighs in defeat, “Mine! Look I know I messed up but.. I didn’t even think she’d find out.”

“Thats not an excuse,” Taehyun responds, “You were so worried about covering your own back that you didn’t think about her feelings!”

“I know, I know” The older boy continues, “I want to apologize!”

“Well this idiotic plan is not making it any better.” Soobin speaks, not believing what Yeonjun and Beomgyu had constructed.

Yeonjun’sdate was just some girl Beomgyu paid to pretend to be the others date. All in the attempt to make you jealous, for whatever reason, but it wasn’t working.

“She doesn’t even care!” Yeonjun looks back at you, dancing with some stranger. “She laughed at me!”

“She laughed at your attempt to flirt.”Hueningkai corrects, knowing you couldn’t stand that cringy stuff.

“I already told you, all this elaborate scheming” He waves his hands, “Is totally useless, just go for it directly.”

Yeonjun literally panics at that idea. Just go up to you? And confess? When you possibly hated him? Yeah… no.

“Kai that plan’s even worse than mine” Beomgyu smirks, “He doesn’t have the balls.”

“Who doesn’t?” Yeonjun turns back.

“You.”

“Say I won’t go up to her and do it right now”

“You won’t”

Beomgyu knew exactly what he was doing; Yeonjun was never one to back down from a challenge. He was hoping the boys pride would work in his favor for once.

Yeonjun hears no more of this before he’s leaving the table, searching for you in the sea of bodies.

You’re lost in your own world in that point, dancing with a boy whose name you haven’t caught. Not that it mattered anyways, you were just having fun.

“Let’s go” You feel a hand grab your arm, turning you to face him.

“Yeonjun?” You say surprised.

“You know him?” The unnamed boy asks.

“N-“

“Yes, she knows me. I need to talk to her.” Yeonjun interrupts you, looking eager to drag you away.

“I don’t think so.” The other boy argues.

“Stay out of this Heeseung.”

“Do you want to go with him?” The male-Heeseung-looks at you.

“Uh-“ You look back and forth. Yeonjun wouldn’t want to talk to you unless it was an emergency. It could be an issue with one of the boys. You couldn’t risk that.

“I’m sorry!” You apologize as you grab onto Yeonjun.

“It was nice to meet you! Thank you for the dance!” You speak as the boy drags you away.

He takes you into the hallway of the venue, away from the loud music and chatter.

Yeonjun was shaking inside, he couldn’t believe he was about to do this. Finally, he was going to let it out.

“Hey,” He speaks, brain scrambling while he thinks of what to say.

“Yes?” Confused, you avert your eyes as you look around.

“I like you.” He admits, scanning your face for any sign of discomfort.

Although to his surprise, you smile. “I know.”

“I know, I just..” He trails. “I had to tell you. Please don’t feel pressured to-”

“I don’t,” You interrupt. “Yeonjun it’s kind of hard for you to expect me to like you back given the circumstances..”

“I understand completely” He speaks, and he truly did.

“But I did,” You say unexpectedly. “In fact, I think I loved you.”

Yeonjun’s shocked at that statement, and so are you. You never thought you’d be here, telling him this, especially under these circumstances.

Not with the future being uncertain, and your past being so brutal. You didn’t know where things would go from here, and if this all was even a good idea. But what is life without risks? You had to take this chance.

“If I loved you back then, I believe I can again.”
