• • •as the camera began rolling, the brunette’s expression lit up, fingers moving to brush away a strand of hair ― a nervous tick, she noted in her mind. “ah, hello ― my name is choi yoojung.” she introduced with a soft voice and a gentle smile. if one looked close enough, they could see her smile twitching with her nerves. “i’m eighteen and was born here in korea in changwon ― and i…” she paused, her eyes settling in the lens, licking at her lips before she let out a small chuckle and shrugged. “i’ve danced all my life. i love singing, rapping, dancing ― performing. i suppose you hear this all the time, but i love being on stage. believe i was born to be up there ― to perform. and i hope to prove that to you, given the chance.”

• • •yoojung pouted her lips in thought, running a hand back through her hair. “i’ve always wanted to be on stage, really.” she replied sincerely. “when i was younger, i used to do dance competitions ― both individual competitions and group ones ― and it was just. amazing. to be on stage is like a whole new world, something that not everyone gets to experience in their life. so to be able to do that as my career? it would be…amazing. again.” she chuckled clasping her hands together in her lap before taking a breath. “i also…want to make an impact on other people. all these stars that i’ve listened to all my life ― they’re important to me. and they made me into the person i am today. they comforted me when i was sad or angry, but they also kept my spirits up whenever i’m already on that high road. and i want to be able to do that for someone. i want to pass on what i’ve already learned from idols in order to make other people feel that same happiness, no matter the situation life puts them in. there’s always reason to go on, you know?“

→ sorry, this is for what again? { / with arms crossed, yoojung blinks as she leans forward in her seat to stare at someone behind the camera. a low response barely picks up on the audio, then yoojung nods and relaxes into her chair, seemingly satisfied. } i’m choi yoojung. seventeen years old. second-year at seoul school of performing arts. some people know me by the name yuji–well, actually… maybe not that many people… i’m an aspiring rapper, and i’m gonna make my name known for that, so look out for me, ‘kay? { / she looks up behind the camera again for some kind of confirmation. } i guess this is the part where i brag about everything else, isn’t it? { / she crosses her legs. } i don’t know what you want to hear. i’m just a girl with a dream. { / she shrugs } i’m in a dance studio too, i guess, and i got accepted into my school for dancing, but who wants to hear about that?

→ i don’t want a lot, but i guess it ends up being a lot… { / she uncrosses her arms and wrings her hands unconsciously. } i want to be able to write music that means something to someone–more than the “oppa, love me!” songs… i want to talk about real things people go through, but i don’t know where to begin. i’m not that great at writing…not yet anyway. { / she makes a face then sighs. } anyway, like i said before, i want to be known as a rapper. wouldn’t that be cool? i think i’ve got the potential.
