Name: I don’t want to reveal my actual name cause it’s pretty unique and you could probably stalk me on my personal social media… But my Chinese name means “happiness/joy” so you can call me Joy if you’d like!

Ethnicity:My parents are from Hong Kong, but I was born and raised in Canada

Studying/Working?:Going into my last year of high school… Tentatively planning to study psychology in university!

Hobbies:Sleeping, graphic design, reading, bullet journaling, dancing, listening to music

Likes:Drinking tea, studying in cafes, walks at dusk with my mom, sleeping in, spring and autumn, organizing, chocolate, evening/night drives, friends/family

Dislikes:All bugs (ew spiders), math, when people chew with their mouths open

Personality:The mom friend! Major introvert. ISFJ. Christian. People might say that I’m quiet, responsible, serious, kind. You’ll probably find me either studying, sleeping, nagging my friends, or hanging out with my family.

ABOUT ME:

Do you have a nickname? Not really… but I guess some of my friends call me “Mom”, haha. 

Any unexpected talents/hobbies? I suppose one unexpected hobby is that I love playing floor hockey (despite hating all other sports with a passion). As for a talent… I’m pretty good at whistling??? (Wow I’m so interesting this is great)

How would you describe your fashion style? Uh, like business casual except with more jeans. I pretty much only wear black, white, and grey. Sometimes, if I’m feeling adventurous, I’ll wear navy blue! (Crazy, I know.) When it’s warm, you’ll see me in blouses and denim shorts. When it’s colder, you’ll see me in knitted sweaters/turtlenecks and long coats.

Favorite genre of music? I tend to gravitate towards ballads and more emotional songs - the type of music you’d listen to during an autumn walk. I also really like Pop Rock!

Favorite book? Wow, I have way too many favorite books to name one. But my favorite book genres are historical fiction and magical realism (although recently I’ve been reading a lot of non-fiction!). I’m also trying to read more classics. (If anyone is interested in my book recommendations, let me know! I’m always happy to talk about books.)

Favorite film? Hm, I quite like Black Swan. As a dancer myself, it’s interesting to see a take on how the highly competitive environment of professional dancing affects mental health. I also like A Silent Voice! It’s beautifully animated. The aspects of mental health, friendship/family, and growing up really touched me. 

Your zodiac sign? Aries!

Interesting random facts about you? I love cats! I’m perpetually cold, so I’m almost always wearing a sweater/jacket. I actually love wearing my school uniform because I think it looks really nice. I’m trained in various dance styles: ballet, lyrical, jazz, and contemporary. I choreograph dances in my head whenever I hear a piece of music. I’m very very short (~152 cm). I’m the type of person who needs to set 5 alarms to get out of bed.
