My little bit of content for SWAW Day 3 - “friendships”

Sloane and Uwu! I’m not the best at digital art, but I really enjoyed doing this cute little doodle - hope I did our lovely Sloane justice!

Sloane and Nadia geeking out over Leonardo Da Vinci

(Faceclaims:

Nadia Park - Cassie Ventura

Sloane Washington - Nelly Muse (museuniform))

Headcanons:

• Sloane and Nadia find out they both are Leonardo Da Vinci fans, shortly after the dust all settles (post Eros takedown)

• But for very different reasons! Nadia geeks out over his artistic technique, Sloane over his many inventions and esp his anatomical drawings!

• Hayden let slip once that Sloane had copies of the 70s documentary “The Life of Leonardo Da Vinci” in Nadia’s presence…and the rest was history.

• What followed was one of the rare nights Nadia joined Hayden and the MC for documentary night.

• The other two would later say that listening to Sloane and Nadia discuss made it sound like they’d watched two films on the same subject!

• Nadia convinced Sloane to watch Ever After: A Cinderella Story with her a few weeks after that. Historical inaccuracies aside, it was fun to watch and a lot more fun to pick out references.

Nadia when she sees the last scene, where Leonardo Da Vinci shows the heroine a portrait of her (it’s actually La Scapigliata/Head of a Woman): He never actually finished that.

Sloane on seeing the scene where Leonardo Da Vinci tries to walk on water: You won’t believe how much he loved water! (this leads to a full-15-minute absolutely-unprepared speech on water flow and pressure, hydraulics, and the geometry of flowing water*. “Whoever said you can’t be eloquent should listen to you describe water!” Nadia said).

• Both women attended an exhibition on his work in NY and got lost in different parts of the museum for half an hour. Neither of them realized they were lost until Steve and the MC found them, gazing at a design of a flying machine, and The Virgin of the Rocks, respectively**.

• Nadia when you ask her to explain the sfumato technique:

• Sloane when you ask her to talk about the Codex Leicester:

BOTH when you ask them how Leonardo Da Vinci made connections across disciplines:

Day 2 - “Science Queen” (Women in STEM)

“A few months into college, I realized that I was more interested in the machines we would use than the actual regimen.
I spent countless nights in the library studying the aerotrim, picking it apart in my brain. The ARED too, which helps astronauts prep for zero gravity.
So I changed course. Did more in-depth studies. Quantum physics, electrical engineering, the works.
I was contacted by Eros personally after my thesis on induction algorithm and machine learning was published.”

✨As a child Sloane coded a robo-dog toy.
✨ built her first computer with spare parts in childhood.
✨ made a fake ID at sixteen to see a tech entrepreneur speak.
Some fun facts I found about our dear Sloane, it’s very special to have someone like her featured in a game, because Sloane can be an inspiration to many girls who like her love science, programming, coding, astronauts, math. And that’s beautiful because we know that Sloane had a lot of childhood heroes that always inspired her, and knowing that she may have inspired a lot of girls out there makes me very happy and very curious to see how Sloane would react to being the heroine of so many young women around the world.

Sloane Washington moodboard for @sloanewashingtonappreciationweek day one: character appreciation

sins-of-arcanum:

Let’s not forget that Sloane Washington provided amazing representation for how her sociability is archetypal for how some highly intelligent and neurodivergent people behave in real life and therefore deserves all the love

Rebel Goddess: An Appreciation of Sloane Washington

(Screenshots from Abhirio’s YouTube channel)

As many of us know, this is Gertrude Sloane Washington in her first ever diamond scene with us. It is the first time we get to know her better outside of our dating of Hayden, and the first time we can really romance her. We learn about her love for science, her mother Kim’s encouragement of her talents and interests, and how her bond with Hayden developed (before we find out that Sloane is in fact Hayden’s Handler). But the very important takeaway from this scene, is always her story about Orion, which later becomes an important clue in breaking into her Eros computer.

There are numerous iterations of Orion’s story - especially of his death. In some he is stung by a scorpion, in others Artemis’ brother Apollo has a hand in his death, and at least two versions have Artemis herself kill him. So it’s not only important to explore why the above version is the story Sloane - our resident astronomy buff - chooses to tell, but why this particular variation is important.

Day 1 - Character Appreciation

@sloanewashingtonappreciationweek@lizzybeth1986

I can’t narrow down my favorite Sloane scenes, so I’ll share some childhood headcanons instead.

  • I’m fully convinced that she’s watched the 1980 version of Cosmoswith Carl Sagan about 10,000 times.
  • She was definitely the kid who stuck glow-in-the-dark stars to her bedroom ceiling and they were as accurate as she could make them.
  • Sloane still has that robot dog she made for show-and-tell all those years ago.

Day 1 - Character Appreciation (fave scenes, character traits)

“This is the Captain speaking. I mean, this is Sloane speaking. Who’s also the Captain. Please prepare for take-off!”

I wanted to choose my favorite scene for today and it was really hard to choose one. But then I remembered the scene where Sloane saves the entire group by FLYING A REAL PLANE FOR THE FIRST TIME!
I know it’s a super short scene in chapter 10 and in chapter 11 we have a diamond scene with her that’s super cute and we find out more about her passion for space and get a chance to say she’s a great pilot.
What I love about the end of chapter 10 is that Sloane had already saved Hayden, saved everyone in a car chase and at the end of the night she became the captain of a plane. For me it was the beginning of Sloane’s growth, even though that night she said “I don’t do heroics” That same night we saw Sloane being the heroine.

A/N:Yesterday, I received a piece of artwork I commissioned from the insanely talented @misadrawss of Damien and Emilia together. It made my wheels start turning, and inspired this little one-shot.
