Week 6: Curiouser and Curiouser…
Taken: 2/5/15

I’ve been playing around a lot with my fixed lens. It’s definitely something to get used to since I don’t have the capability to zoom in or out, I have to move myself if I want to create the shot I’m looking for.

This is Lisa (queenkhaleesa) and she asked if I could take her portrait and I was like hell yes. I’ve become more open to people now that I’m a photographer, I’m nowhere near a pro but I am more confident in my abilities and it’s starting to show. I’ve had a few friends and co-workers ask me to shoot pictures for them, for their families, I’m shooting an engagement session next week in fact!

I’ve also decided to share more photos on this blog, I’ll still post one every thursday but I want to share others I’ve taken as well.

Thanks for the support everybody!

Week 5: Model Toys
Taken 1/27/15

I won’t lie, trying to figure out something new to post each week has been a slight struggle. But that has also been what’s made this project so fun.
I go onto a lot of Photography websites and other 365 projects and I found a story about a Photographer mom who started posing her children’s toys for photos. I have this Wall-E Toy from way back when the movie came out, my younger brother wanted to throw him away but I kept him and he’s come along for my many adventures so far.

I’ve also been having fun learning more about my camera and it’s functions. I tried experimenting with the white balance to get these photos and I’m really happy with how they turned out.

Week 4: And Introducing….
Taken 1/21/15

The idea I had for this week was Wes Anderson. I really like his style of filmmaking and how the scenes are set up very symmetrical. This is actually somewhat challenging for me since I rely usually on the rules of thirds for my pictures which I think makes them more…alive? But I enjoyed doing this setup and will probably use this type of staging again.

What has been nice so far for this project is the support I’ve gotten from friends in my life, Like for instance they being willing to pose in Grocery stores or just stare me down through the lens at midnight.

Also this was using my new 35mm Fixed lens, Love it.
