Frank Black (aka Black Francis) made a name for himself with the band The Pixies from the mid-eighties until their break-up in 1993. The band therefore rides a thin line between ’80s and ’90s alternative music and helped move the sound of alternative music away from the new wave of the ’80s to the more hard rock sound of the ’90s.…Thankfully.
