Colfax, Louisiana, is obviously a town that has always believed in locking miscreants up. The top photo is what remains of the town’s first jail. If you look closely, you can see that it was originally built with horizontal logs that were later covered with vertical lumber. It was replaced by the brick structure in the second pair of photos, which was the second jail. The second jail was replaced by the building in the bottom set of photos. You can see the foundation from the old courthouse and its vault in front of the third jail. These days, there’s a new courthouse and jail in town.

Dorchester District Court in the Snow ❄
Another beautiful moment worth capturing at Face Value. The front of the Courthouse with it’s Roman-like columns showing strength. The snow covered bush dripping with frozen condensation. A mighty tree stands as snowflakes kiss the image. What we have here is a well rounded capture of a snowy New England Scene if I say so myself. Dorchester, Massachusetts

Dorchester Court House Snowfall ❄
As the light but large fluffy snowflakes descended towards the ground I became enthralled. I suddenly realized the geometrical compositional balance and had to take a shot. The way the shapes and lines layered together called for a photograph worth snapping in this winter storm. Dorchester, Massachusetts
