Shots taken by my fiancee of myself exploring one of the wards of the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum/Weston State Hospital. You can see our guide MacKayla is dressed as a nurse, she was a great tour guide & we learned a lot about the building. Can’t wait to go back and explore more of the spaces in this building.
Interesting fact: The rooms in the ward are painted different pastel colors. Many of the patients were unable to read and did not know their room numbers. The colors were a clever way of helping the patients know whether they were in the right room or not!

Some pretty rad panoramic photos my fiancee took at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum/Weston State Hospital. Which he was gracious enough to let me rive 3 hours out of the way of where we were to visit!
We arrived about an hour out from closing time so unfortunately, were only able to take the 1st Floor Historical tour. Hope to go back and get more photos and see more of this epic & impressive building!
