After weeks of negotiation I was finally “granted an audience” with the hottest (and most eccentric) rap star in the country, Giovanni. He had the strangest requirements for our meeting; come alone, I had to wear a short skirt and heels, no notebooks or recording devices of any kind, so I had to memorize everything.
After passing through throngs of screaming fans and security cordon, I was let into his dressing room. “Have a seat.” said the security guard by the door. and so I sat down and waited, and waited, and waited. 30 minutes passed, by my watch. I reached over to the table close by and flipped idly through some papers.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING ?!” shrilled the rap singer, standing livid in his purple silk bathrobe. The security guard lunged forward, I was on my feet and overpowered by his strong arms.
“She’s a spy come to steal my lyrics.” the little man accused waving his finger in my face.
“Now wait a second, I…” was all I managed to say in the interim. Before I knew it, the rapper had disappeared back upstairs and I was tied up in a tight little package on the floor by Giovanni’s security thug.
“Your boss is crazy, you know that, right?”
“Yeah, but he pays me and keep me outta jail.” the man said, “Now open up your big mouth, sweetheart.”
“What aremmmpph…??"
He jammed a wad of cloth in my mouth and stretched some medical tape over my lips, making an air-tight seal, gagging me.
Giovanni ignored my venomous glare as he marched past me, nose in the air, "Thief.” he said tartly. I snarled at him.
“See you in three hours.” said the guard as he escorted his boss out the door.
Not if I can help it…

“We have moles in the city attorney’s office, but after the dragnet we put out for you, they were superfluous. We had cops lining up to tell us where the safehouse was located, and when the police shifts changed.”
