• When he first met you, Makoto couldn’t help but be attracted to your gentle, sweet nature that comforted him always. Whenever he felt sad, disappointing, or angry, you’d come to his need and whisper things. Things that put him at ease.
• Although he’d never feel that way about you, he saw you as his greatest ally. His best friend.
• But… that’s not what you wanted. At all. You loved him more then anyone else, you were willing to do just about anything to make him like you! You were so certain he’d fall for that charm, so when he didn’t… It was devastating. But… you’d continue to love him, continue to be there for him. You had convinced yourself that, in some way, he’d come to love you the way you loved him.
• Your devotion to him was almost as obsessive as Toko’s. But unlike her, you didn’t make it apparent as to not scare him off.
• Which is why he never caught on to your - now looking back at it, obvious - issues.
• You always managed to disguise your prying in a tone so sweet, syrup practically dripped from every word.
• “how was your day? Anything interesting happen?” “What’re you up to today? Wanna hang out! I’d really like too!” “Did you hang out with anyone new?”
• Makoto would always answer your questions honestly.
• “It was fine, I guess.. not much really happened but I did finally beat that level!”
• “Yeah sure! I’ll be right there”
• “uhh, not really… W-well uhm…there was this o-one person…”
• Huh-
• It didn’t take much time to know he was crushing on someone… It was apparent in the way he grew awkward and stiff in his speech. And how you could practically feel the blush irradiating off his words.
• And every word he said regarding them felt like a skewer through your body.
• You loved him so, SO much that it hurt…so why?
• Why was he making you suffer more?
• How much more of yourself do you have to strain, just for him to mumble a simple…
• “I love you”
• But, you wouldn’t allow this to penetrate your facade. Instead, you made it seem like you were happy for him
• “Wow, makoto. Sounds like you have a crush~” you’d tease him, hiding how bitter those made your mouth taste
• “H-hey! That’s not it!”
• “Yeah yeah, lover boy, whatever you say~ careful though, don’t want a flagpole shooting up if you hug them, eh~?” That definitely made him stutter, more then before especially. What a cutie..
• After this, makoto began seeing you a lot more then usual. Sure, I mean, you did hang about him a bunch, but recently it had been more frequent.
• He never suspected anything though, you just wanted to hang out is all. Besides, you were his best friend! Why would he suspect you?
• It didn’t take long for you to discover the person he was crushing on, due to his many mannerisms you had studied down to a T practically giving it away.
• That, and he just (reluctantly) told you.
• Now, to get rid of them. That poison in the lake..
• Don’t worry! You’d never kill someone, no no! Although…
• With the plan you’d put in motion, you’re sure that death may of been more merciful..
• A week or two passed, and Makoto noticed changes in the person he liked. They were more gloomy, reserved and even a bit fidgety now. Contrasting their once outgoing and laid-back nature.
• He began noticing how people looked at them too. Disgust, anger, spite, or pity were a common expression thrown their way. And soon, bullying was happening as well.
• Vicious rumors had been spreading like wildfire about them, quickly destroying their reputation and likeability and ultimately alienating them.
• What was gossip quickly turned into truth, and that was all you wanted. Everyone believed it, even Makoto did, and soon they came less and less to the public.
• Until eventually, they stopped coming entirely.
• This was all you wanted! Now, it was just you and him. No one else that could get in the way.
• The plan work worked more perfect then how you wanted it though. It seems your lies grew to the bounds of the internet and cyberbullying quickly began spreading through their daily life. Even when they left, they weren’t safe.
• It didn’t shock you much when their body was found in their residence. Gently swaying side to side as they hanged from the rope tied around their neck. Face deathly pale and nails stained with their blood.
• What a loser, even in death they couldn’t do it right. Hah!
• This didn’t effect you much, if at all. It actually felt very rewarding for you, knowing your actions pushed them over the edge.
• The same, however, could not be said for Makoto.
• He was extremely shaken up by the discovery, and a part of him felt like he could of helped them.
• He could of saved them. He saw what was happening, and he didn’t do anything. Why?
• Why didn’t he help them, when they needed it the most? Why was he such a coward?
• Taking note of this, you quickly sprung into action. Bashing away those hideous thoughts.
• “Makoto, don’t think like that! You couldn’t of prevented this… They..they did this to themselves.. they just couldn’t take it anymore… I’m sure they’re happier where they are now, and from what I’ve seen, they wouldn’t of wanted you to be sad!”.
• Although he still blamed himself. That brought him some comfort, especially from you.
• But… This wouldn’t be the last instance something like this would happen…. It was one of many, in fact.
• A disturbing number of people that use to buzz around the ultimate lucky student slowly began distancing themselves from him and the school, one by one each abandoning him and succumbing to the relentless bullying. Much to his grief.
• Yet every step of the way, you stood alongside him. Reassuring this was never his fault, and that he didn’t deserve to blame himself for it.
• Maybe that’s what gave you away. How you always stuck with him thick and thin. How you crept your way into practically every moment of his life now.
• Slowly, he began to realize the seeds of ignorance you’d sow in him. How you’d tell him they weren’t worth his time anymore, how they were idiots to abandon someone as sweet and as caring him.
• And how you’d never leave his side. That you’d be with him every step of the way.
• Makoto confronted you about his suspicion, although instead of replying with a harsh or demanding tone, the words came out with a softness.
• Even if you were the cause of why students had been dropping like flies…he still cared about you deeply. And even if he was angry, he could never bring himself to truly yell at you.
• Your expression at his accusation was obvious confusion “uh, what? Why would I be the one making them leave?” You’d say, your voice evidently laced with pain.
• Makoto quickly apologized for hurting your feelings, but continued on about his impending suspicion about you, and how he felt like something was just…off
• The last thing he wanted was to lose you. You were there for him, you cared for and about him when no one else would. You always took care of him, and he didn’t want this to the be the case but…
• No, you couldn’t allow this to happen. You worked too hard and came too far for him to just do this to you. You! Of all people, he was suspicious of you!
• The one who was always there for him!
• The one who wiped away those that always threatened to spill whenever someone he cared for disappeared!
• The one would risk both life and limb just to see him smile!
• Why?! Why did he always do this?? Why did he always make you suffer so much.
• Makoto saw a new side of you. An aspect of yourself that triggered an almost primal instinct of his to leave. Run away as fast as he could. And yet he couldn’t. His legs remained perfectly positioned, much to his inner agony. He feared what he saw.
• And what he saw, was anger.
• You were angry at him, angry at yourself, angry at the world. Oh, why couldn’t he just love you! Why?! Was it that hard to do?
• You didn’t care anymore, you decided that if he wasn’t going to make the first move, you would.
• Gripping firmly onto his stiff hands, you began to confess your feelings. You told him everything: how you had loved him since an early age, how just being near him was enough to get you started in the day and ready for anything. You told him how he made you feel like an entirely new person, and that your life, once boring and plain, had a burst of colour every time you were near him.
• You even started diving into secrets, your mind so wrapped up in finally being able to do this just letting them slip.
• You added how you’d sometimes take things from him while he wasn’t looking. At first it was regular things he’d never miss like an empty soda can or a video game disk that was broken. Then, as it continued, the context got more intense.
• Like how you sometimes snuck into his room whenever he wasn’t around (it was pretty easy to get in to considering his family really liked you, and that you’d lie and say you were grabbing something for him) and that you started taking more private things from him like his shirts, pants….undies. anything that remotely smelled of him placed you in a high you hadn’t felt before.
• You even touched yourself with the toothbrush you took from him while also inhaling his scent, pretending he was the one doing all of that to you. Even now, the thought made you quiver even now.
• Makoto was completely awestruck. He was frozen in place, overwhelmed and unable to process what you just told him. A part of him always knew you liked him more then a friend, and perhaps a tiny bit of him was feeling the same way due to recent events.
• But whatever chances of love that were there had completely vanished and turned into air. What resided now was terror. He was afraid of you, and what you would do to him.
• And he was wise to think that. While you felt relief to finally be able to say all you, your heart was still whirling in anger. Yet instead of shouting at him, you calmly–and eerily lovingly– said this.
• “you make me feel whole, you make everyday to me more lively and worth loving! I love you, Makoto Naegi. I love you so much… That it hurts… It hurts so much sometimes, but I persist, for you! I want to revolve my everything around you! Please, please accept my confession..please?”
• He hated how his face burned red for a split second, but quickly that sinking feeling returned to him, and appropriately, he shakily refused your confession. And with some trembling force, he pried his hands from yours.
• “i-i’m sorry s-s/o… But… I don’t love you like that… And I can’t just forgive what you did. Because of your actions, a good person lost their life! You even made all my friends disappear! I…i-i-i can’t LOVE someone like that- like you! You…” And that’s where everything blurred for you..
• What…what did he just say?… “Ican’t love you?”…. Huh… But…
• Makoto felt a dark aura disperse from your body as you became stiff and quiet, like a stone statue. Your eyes grew a shadow darker, amplifying to your intimidating appearance as your once bliss smile dropped into a devastated frown. The mixing energies of your being and your expression made him gulp from terror and guilt, and send a shiver running down his back.
• You don’t remember much of what happened afterwards, but you were aware enough to know your body began moving on its own and towards the boy who made your heart beat faster. Even now, you loved him… But now, you also despised him. For being so…selfish. after all the time and effort that was sacrificed for him, he still didn’t love you… Well, you could fix that. You tried the subtle approach, but perhaps a more “direct” method was needed to drill that thought inside his head. Maybe that’s what motivated your body to move on its own.
• You faded in and out to what was happening at that moment. You remember makoto attempting to run but being cut off when you grabbed him and brought him to the ground. You remember him shouting in an attempt to alert someone about his attack. And then, you grabbed something solid and hard, and bashed it into his head.
• He survived thankfully, but he was knocked out cold and bleeding profusely. On top of that, you were sure someone could of heard what was happening. At that point you were panicking, but were composed enough to come up with a half-assed solution. Although it seemed impossible, you had hope it would work…
• And work, it did.
• Makoto found himself in a weird building, one that wasn’t too familiar to him. He couldn’t remember what happened, his mind twisting in pain as he rubbed the bandaged area that had been struck by a rock. “A rock? I was attacked..?” And then that’s when everything flooded back to him. How you entered a blind rage and began to attack him, bringing him to the ground and easily overpowering the boy before knocking him unconscious.
• He tried moving to at least get a better understanding of where he was, but it’d prove futile due to his arms and legs bound to a chair. He tried shouting, but it was useless due to the gag in his mouth which.. he had justed noticed was there. Makoto did everything he could to try and get out of his confinements, pulling and pushing his limbs as much as he could yet only achieving a slight *rattle* from the bounds.
• His fear would only increase when the sweet honey suckle voice that once brought him comfort, but now only pure terror, bounced from the buildings walls. You smiled gently at makoto in a manner that seemed like it was almost mocking him. You greeted him like you did everyday previously; warmly and with a fun energy! You hoped he slept well, and you informed him he’d been out for quite a bit, and that you fixed that little bump on his head! Though, he didn’t need to thank you. Not like he could!
• You then told him you had brought him to a special place where no one but the birds and bugs outside would disturb them! You also told him not to worry about his school life or family, you had already taken care of it! You said to your hostage that he’d been staying here for a bit until you had made him love you.
• Makoto didn’t know what to do, and he was scared beyond anything he’d ever felt. What happened to you? What happened to the S/O he use to know? Was it all just a facade?… Oh god, what were you gonna do to him?
• Noticeable sweat drops and a purple hue took over his expression, pure fear etched into those darling features of his which you came to adore. You told makoto that, if he behaved and began to love you, that nothing bad would ever happen to him. you wouldn’t touch a single hair on his ahoge, so long as he said these simple words.
• I love you.
• And yet, even then, makoto couldn’t abide to your rule. Upon taking off his gag, makoto tried to reason and plead with you to let him go, that even if he was captured he’d never tell anyone about it; and that even if you were an insane person, you were still his friend! And that you could get better! And-
• *SMACK* You slapped him across the face and shoved the gag back into his mouth. You had enough with this “friend” nonsense, and you weren’t insane! What was he even on about? Was he trying to make you hurt again?… Well, it wasn’t gonna work. Now, it was his turn to suffer. To hurt him like he hurt you until he learned to love you as much as you loved him.
• You disappeared for a moment, and in that time frame makoto soaked in what had just happened. You smacked him?! You really smacked him! And it wasn’t like it was painless either, the red print on his cheek said otherwise. Tears threatened to topple over at that moment, the fear, pain, anger; betrayal, guilt, regret all getting the better of him. His thoughts were brought back to earth when you returned to him brandishing a fresh set of sterile, sharp tools that glistened in the rays of sun that managed to seep through the building.
• You expressed an awed grin as you brandished a sharp tool towards his neck, pressing it against him until a small line of blood began to ooze down. Makoto’s eyes were filled with immense terror, and the colour that remained had completely drained from his face. He was shaking intensely and you swear heard him take a hard swallow. God he was adorable, even now. You didn’t want to hurt, you truthfully didn’t… But playing nice wasn’t going to get you anywhere, so hurting him was a necessity. He would scream, yell, cry, beg, but it wouldn’t deter you from your mission of love. Even if he feared you in the end, even if he hated you by the end, if it meant you’d get to keep him now and forever… It’d be worth it.
• Makoto’s spirit and willpower were completely destroyed by you. He couldn’t remember anything really, blurring in and out of consciousness as his body was assaulted nearly daily now. He couldn’t think of anything but the pain that irked his body and his mentality. It hurt everywhere, it even hurt breathing now. Why were you doing this to him? He just wants to go home, he just wants to see his family again… He just wants the pain to stop. Please… Make it stop.
• What remained of the past makoto had been largely snuffed out, replaced with a shivering scared young boy instead. A nice, obedient boy, one who’d obey you without a fault. It honestly worked much better then you thought, and you were amazed at how quickly the personality of someone can change. You were sure he wouldn’t try anything, now that his energy and motivation were depleted, so you released him from his bounds and carefully took him out of the chair. Makoto wanted to fight back, thrash and run for the doors, but he just… couldn’t. His body and his mind were too out of it for him to do anything.
• All he could do was writhe in pain. Emotional, physical, mental, it all hurt to the point his tears began running down his face again. You gently wiped away those tears, caressing his hair and telling him how much of a good boy he was to endure all that. You spoke to him in that sickly sweet tone he came to fear, as it always meant something awful was about to happen to him… But, he didn’t try resisting anymore. It was pointless.. but he craved that kindness you once had. He hated himself for still wanting to see the good in you, he hated how much he still cared about you… And he was scared that a piece of him did eventually come to love you a tiny bit. He wanted to suppress these feelings, all of them and just let the anger remain… But he was so, so touch starved for any kind of kindness or humanity that his body couldn’t help but weakly curl up to your warmth, as much as he hated.
• Your heart pounded as he did this. He was starting to love you! You were the happiest person on earth! All that work and effort had finally paid off, makoto, your love, FINALLY returned your affection! You could just throw him in the air and hug him until his ribcage broke, but couldn’t do that right now because there was a high chance his ribcage would actually break in his current state.
• You were quick to nurse him back to a stable condition, how you did this completely mesmerized him. When did you even learn this? How long were you planning to kidnap me? So many thoughts, so little answers. For the first few days of his slow recovery, makoto tried thinking of a plan to get out and return to his family, then when that was done he’d have you put away somewhere. Far, far away from him where’d you rot.
• But every time he tried thinking of a way of to get away from you, his heart would coil with guilt almost instantly and his train of thought would be derailed. Why was he feeling this way for you? You kidnapped him! You hurt him! Why should he start loving you?…
• Why was he starting to love you?
• ….and then, time passed. Makoto was fully healed physically, although he still was not nearly as stable mentally or emotionally, but that was fine. He was quiet now, and you missed his voice sure but, he’d come back around eventually! So you spent a few days alone with him, bringing back some stuff for you two to do and munch in an attempt to bring out some remnants of his past self a bit. it didn’t help much as makoto only did things whenever you told him too, but eventually he started doing stuff again. He ate whenever he needed, and cleaned himself when it started getting bad, and as a reward you’d smother him with kisses, hugs, and buy him one of his favourite things for every little achievement he unlocked! Makoto couldn’t explain what he was feeling for you, or maybe he just didn’t want to accept it. He was still scared, still so angry with you or your selfishness… But he craved you. He craved your affection, your love.
• And then more time passed.. makoto was allowed to go back to his family once he had been fully trained. But he couldn’t stay away from you very long, spending a night by himself felt so… Odd for him.. after all the time you two spent together, without your presence near him he felt absolutely alone.
• This emotional dependence on you caused him to fumble even basic day to day tasks. He was so use to the lack of people that the sudden amount of eyes on him made his anxieties spike. It felt like someone was wrapping their hands around his neck, squeezing the air right out of his lungs. He needed you so, so much right now. He needed you to tell him how good he was, he needed your love.
• When he finally does get to see you again, he’s practically in tears and sobbing profusely. He missed you so much! Where did you go? Why weren’t you responding to him? You were his world, and you completely left him! He just clung to you for the most time, refusing to release in fear you’d drift away again. He wanted to hate you, he really did, but only a small bit was allowed to sink through as the rest simply roared for you.
• You were makoto’s crutch for stability. Honestly, you weren’t too upset about this. If anything, it made you feel needed from the one you love most and that’s all you ever wanted. He finally realized… That all he ever needed was you, and whatever you did to him back then was only for him to get a clearer view of his future.
• And you finally got your wish, with teary eyes that could flood an entire desert and a heartbroken, desperate.
• “i love you, S-S/O!”
• Finally… Finally, he had said what you always wanted. You practically melted into his being as he muttered those words, you had never felt such a wash of pleasure come over you! He said what was needed, and you returned it in full! You two devoted time to each other, and you loved each other through thick and thin.
• Makoto’s independence had completely evaporated when you had tortured him daily back then, and his emotions were completely erratic. You controlled him, you kept him in check, and you loved every second of it.
• Finally… The man you loved, was yours.
• Forever ♡

Sorry if it was a bit rushed near the end! It was going on for too long, so I just needed to hurry it up! I’m going to make them smaller in the future, so please enjoy this…. whatever!

Prompt: How would Kaede react to her s/o being the mastermind and they casually tell her that they killed Shuichi with the ‘first come first serve rule’ because he’s too smart for the killing game and felt that he was too close to her as well?

• Shuichi had been found, dead, in the kitchen. The scene was brutal to say the least. A large knife had slit his throat and stabbed him in the abdomen.
  
• Nobody really knew what to do. None of them actually expected a murder to occur.
  
• Which brings up another good point: which one of them had done it? Shuichi hadn’t done anything harmful. He’d been nothing but supportive, if not rather quiet.
  
• Everyone was on edge, knowing that someone standing among them had done this. Many were crying for a life lost. For Shuichi’s lost life or for the realization that they might lose theirs. Who knows which.
  
• Kaede was crying the hardest; after all, she had the strongest bond with him at that point.
  
• You turned to her and quietly asked if she wanted to go to your room to try and calm down, and she agreed. She saw no risk in going with you since you were comforting her, and also since everyone else saw the two of you leave together.
  
• You had got back to your room and shut the door. Leaving no room for her to speak, you told her the truth. “I killed him.”
  
• ”Wha— what are you talking about??” quickly turned into “WHY??? WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS???” Kaede wanted to run out and tell everyone, but you were blocking the door.
  
• You gave her a quick rundown of what she needed to know. Shuichi was the biggest threat. You were in control of this game. You enjoyed their suffering. You ended your explanation saying that sure, she could try to tell the others, but hoe suspicious would that look? There’s no reason you would confess so openly and it would look as if she was trying to pin the blame on you.
  
• With that, you left the room to go “investigate” with everybody. Leaving her on the ground, sobbing over the loss of both Shuchi and who she had thought of as a possible lover. You.
  

Prompt: 
Can you please do a scenario where Shuichi and Maki were poisoned and Himiko’s trapped in a situation where she can only one of them with a antidote and leave safely? Himiko angst would be great.

Response: Time for that good good angst. I’ll write this as a base start, with two different endings under the cut!

Oh no. Oh God no. This wasn’t supposed to happen; the three of them were supposed to get out alive and see the world and try to recover from the horrific images of their dead friends that they had been forced to witness. But the rules of the game still applied: to an extent. Only two students could leave. The gender of the two didnt matter now, or at least Himiko guesses since there’s a 50/50 chance of two girls or a boy and a girl leaving. She is unclear why she gets an automatic pass, and she really wishes she hadn’t. Because sure, she gets to live, but what does that matter if her friends can’t leave with her? The scenario is simple, typical, even, to a horror movie. Shuichi and Maki have been injected with a deadly poison, and Himiko has the antidote. But there’s only enough for one person to be saved. Her racing thoughts are cut off by Shuichi.

“Himiko…” he groans. The poison is visibly discoloring his skin, along with Maki’s, and they all know that a decision has to be made quickly. “Himiko, save Maki and get out of here. She can protect you more than I can.”

“No! Save him, what use am I to you anyways? Shuichi is more resourceful!” Maki yells.

Himiko is distraught. She’s sobbing and can barely form coherent sentences. “I don’t want to choose! Why do I have to choose?! Please… there has to be a way to get us all out of here. We’re a team, remember?!” She looks around the room they are in; the only room that wasn’t destroyed by Kiibo.

“Himiko, please.” The discoloration is spreading across Shuichi’s arm and, presumably, his chest. His movements are sluggish along with his words, but he nudges Himiko towards Maki. “Get her out of here. For me.”

Maki, rather shakily, takes a step towards Himiko. The skin by her collarbone is changing tone. “Choose Shuichi. He’ll help you leave.”

Himiko is left crying between them. She doesn’t want to choose which of her friends die. She cant leave one of them behind. She stares at the both of them with fear. Fear and uncertainty. She can only leave with one.

“Save Maki!!”

“Save Shuichi!!”

She walks towards….

Shuichi

“Im sorry, but I’m choosing you.”

Saihara is handed the antidote. He stares at Maki and opens his mouth as if to interject, but closes it when he sees Maki nod. He drinks what he was given, and cries. All of them cry. What else are they supposed to do? The two then run over to Maki, who is now sitting on the ground looking incredibly faint. Surprisingly, with tears running down her face, Maki smiles. She smiles and says, “Thank you, for listening to me.”

Himiko wails, “Im sorry!! Im so- Im so sorry…” She cant stop crying. She just chose to end her friends life. It would’ve happened no matter who she chose, but that doesn’t change the fact that she did it. Maki extends her hands to both of them. She’s breathing heavily, and ends up needing to lean against Shuichi to stay upright. They, of course grab her hands as tight as they can. Saihara subconsciously notices that Maki barely squeezes back.

“Keep going guys…I know you’ll work towards a better future once you’re out of here,” Maki manages to mumble. “Promise me… promise you won’t forget me. Forget us.”

“I promise,” they both respond. They can’t bring themselves to say anything else. What else is there to say? Not much, they think, so they settle for hugging her and crying.

‘At least my death has a purpose’ she thinks. ‘I’ll tell the others you say hello; if they cant see this already that is’.

Maki dies with a smile.

Maki

“Drink this, please. Please,” Himiko practically begs.

Maki refuses at first, yells to give the antidote to Shuichi, but Himiko stands her ground. She insists Maki drinks it, and Shuichi mumbles words of both agreement and encouragement. Eventually Himiko waits until Maki is protesting and grabs her face, pouring the antidote into her mouth while its open. Maki nearly spits it out before realizing that Shuichi would still die if she did so. So, she drank it.

Himiko has tears running down her face and seems ready to collapse, which may just be the only reason Maki doesn’t start yelling at her for the decision that was just made. Coincidentally, Shuichi also seems ready to collapse. He falls to his knees and starts to cough violently, blood splattering on his sleeve. Himiko runs over to him and rubs his back in hopes he’ll stop coughing, while Maki has to half-crawl half-scoot over to them since she’s too weak to stand anymore.

Shuichi can barely hear himself think over Himiko’s apologizing. She wont stop saying “Im sorry Im sorry Im sorry”, and Maki stays silent but lays him down so his head rests in her lap.

“You are forgiven,” he says.

Before he can no longer feel his heartbeat he thinks, ‘I know you’ll move forward. Make me proud.’

Neither.

She stands still, contemplating the bottle in her hands. She can’t choose. She really can’t.

So she chooses the unforeseen third option: neither.

The bottle is dropped from her hands, and the fragile glass breaks upon contact with the floor. Himiko is faintly aware of both Maki and Shuichi yelling at her, but in the moment, she can’t find herself to care. By doing this she chose to save neither of them. Both of her friends will be gone, but at least she didn’t have to make such a hard decision. The situation is out of her hands. Literally.

“HIMIKO WHAT THE HELL???” Maki yells. Or rather, she’s been yelling since the bottle broke. Shuichi is yelling too.

Himiko turns towards Maki, trying to formulate a response. But how can she? How can she explain that she knows she just caused their deaths, but she couldn’t choose which deserved to die. Because neither did. Neither did but both are going to now. Both Shuichi and Maki mean the world to Himiko after everything they’ve been through. But both are equal to her. Not one is above the other. She just couldn’t make a decision like that.

Shuichi, as observant as he is, can only guess how Himiko is feeling, and what she meant to do. He, in a sort of twisted way, can see where she’s coming from. He’s still pissed because she, by not choosing which to kill, effectively chose both of them to die. But he’s certainly not as pissed as Maki is.

“HIMIKO, ANSWER ME! WHY DIDN’T YOU SAVE HIM???” The yelling is still from Maki, who is, understandably, losing her cool since both she and one of her friends are about to die.

Himiko is still lost, trying to clear her thoughts, trying to figure out how to explain.

Shuichi answers for her. “She did what her instincts told her to do. She had to make a choice, and this is it. There’s no reversing her choice, just accepting it.”

Maki stops yelling and really looks at Himiko.

Himiko is a complete mess. She seems to have really just processed what she did. She falls to her knees and wails even louder than when she cried at the end of the third trial. No one can hear anything over her sobbing, including Himiko herself. She’s scared and lost and holy shit she just killed both of her friends, is she really any better than any of the previous killers? She doesn’t think so in this moment.

When she stops sobbing and looks up, she’s the last survivor of the killing game.

That sounds rude but there’s no better way to phrase it. I’m just going to assume you’re going through some stuff, and I very much hope that you are able to seek medical help if you’ve had thoughts of doing this or have done something such as self harm. • He has twelve sisters; one of them has bound to had pneumonia before. He reassures you by staying level headed and generally being a voice of reason.
  
• When he notices you crying, he pulls you in for a hug and just holds you for a while.
  
• Once you’ve tried yourself out, he reminds you that it’s better to keep looking foreword, and that your brother will be okay.
  
• He asks what you would like to do, and responds in kind. Want to watch movies? Play video games?? Go for a walk??? He’s ready to do whatever you’d like to distract you if you need.
  

Kiibo

• Shuichi calls you and begins to speak in a rushed, quiet voice. He explains that he’s being followed by two suspicious looking people, and that he’s calling you in hopes they’ll leave him alone.
  
• He tells you his location, which is about 6 blocks from your home. You and Kiibo, who had been watching movies at home, tell him you’ll meet up with him.
  
• When you two arrive, he’s found with his phone broken and some broken bones. He’s conscious, but clearly in a lot of pain.
  
• Both you and Kiibo rush over to him, and you call the cops and an ambulance while you sit next to him to comfort him.
  
• It’s kind of a miracle Kiibo didn’t shut down he was so startled, but he notices you crying and offers his hand to hold since your other hand is being squeezed by Shuichi.
  
• Kiibo tries to comfort you as much as he can when the police get statements from the three of you, and he assures you that Shuichi will be alright soon other than a few casts.
  

Kokichi

• The two of you were returning back to your home after a date. It’s raining pretty heavily, so Kokichi is gonna stay at your place for the night.
  
• When the two of you walk in, the place is trashed. Everything is knocked over, and there’s glass shards everywhere by a broken window. Most concerningly, there’s blood trailing to the kitchen.
  
• You two rush in only to find Shuichi on the floor. No visible wounds, but he’s clearly the one bleeding.
  
• You run over to him while Kokichi calls an ambulance and the police. Shuchi doesn’t respond, and you’re too afraid to do anything more than grab his hand and kneel next to him.
  
• Kokichi hugs you from behind while you wait for the authorities to arrive.
  
• Later, when Shuchi is taken to the hospital, Kokichi is too shaken to really say anything, but he knows you’re hurting more than he is, so he holds himself together
  
• He holds you for as long as you need, and is attentive to any requests you make. The way he acts during this time is such a stark contrast to his usual self, it almost gives you whiplash tbh. He goes back to minor pranks to make you laugh once you learn that Shuichi is in stable condition.
  

Ryouma

• The whole class was hanging out at the beach for the day since it was the middle of the summer.
  
• It was so hot in fact, that Shuichi had a heat stroke and had to go to the ER. He’d be fine in time, but it was terrifying to see him blackout.
  
• Needless to say, everyone is pretty nervous about what just happened, and everyone disperses for the day. Kaede asks you to give her any updates to his condition, and everyone gives you their reassurances and a lot of hugs before they leave.
  
• You and Ryouma decide to sit at the beach under an umbrella while you calm down and process what just happened.
  
• He notices that you’re quietly crying, and he asks if you’d like a hug.
  
• He lets you know that he’s confident in your brother’s condition, and that hell be okay in no time. Usually he doesn’t like to be held due to his height, but he’ll make an exception if it brings comfort to you.
  

Gonta

• Shuichi had been tracked down by a past convict he had found guilty.
  
• He was found passed out with serious stab wounds, and was subsequently rushed to the hospital.
  
• INSTANTLY TERRIFIED. HES CRYING WITH YOU.
  
• You two call the authorities, and once Shuichi is in the ER you both just break down with each other.
  
• You have to comfort him just as much as he comforts you. It actually kind of distracts you from the state your twin is in, so its not necessarily a bad thing.
  
• Once he’s calmed down a bit, he suggests going outside to sit and just talk about nothing for a while since fresh air might help, but he’s willing to do whatever makes you happy.
  

Korekiyo

• Shuichi had been punched and knocked out cold. No terrible injuries, but he is laid down on a couch for a few hours.
  
• Luckily Kirumi put a cold washcloth on his forehead and got everyone to leave you alone with him since you were, reasonably, freaked out.
  
• He’s not at all nervous until he sees you crying.
  
• He remains calm and gives you the blunt facts: your brother is breathing, with minor injury, and he’ll wake up soon.
  
• Might not be the best comfort, but he believes that hearing the truth outright is reassurance to you.
  
• He’ll sit and hug you if you request it. Need a distraction? He’s all too willing to tell you a story and pet your hair till you’re calm.

• He takes a surprisingly long time to figure out how to tell you. He honestly probably gets a lot of opinions on what to do from his D.I.C.E. members, before he finally works up the courage to tell you.
  
• He confronts you alone, and looks,,,, kinda scared?????
  
• He beats around the bush and stalls before blurting it out. He just stares at you while you form your response.
  
• If you reject his feelings, he tries to play it off as one of his lies, but he acts differently around you afterwards.
  

Korekiyo:

• He would initially assume that his sudden realization is just a spur-of-the-moment ordeal. He’d assume he was caught up in a weak place, and you kindness towards him set off a response of affection.
• He’ll ignore it for a while, but after a month or two and he’s still overanalyzing everything you say and do, he starts to think that maybe he actually does like you.
• His first thought of action was to do nothing, and just ignore it and continue staying friends, because he’d rather have your relationship be stable and not as fragile like a couple, but he starts coming up with weird ideas to start being with you more, which can either come off as very forward, or like he doesn’t care.
• His composer will always stay calm and collected, but he’ll act a lot more clingy than he use to act, following you around and making sure you’re okay and safe wherever, and I mean wherever you go.
• He himself will never confess, but when confronted he’ll gush out a monologue about his feelings.
• If he’s rejected, he’ll act normal the next day and pretend everything that happened didn’t, in hopes that things will be normal
• If he’s accepted, he just kinda stands there in awe and confusion cause he didn’t actually expect you to say you liked him too. He’s happy though

Rantarou:

• Definitely the calmest out of all of them. He kinda just goes with the flow with life, so if he catches feels for you, he’ll just straight up say it.
• For him, trust is the most valuable part of a relationship, and the main part of your relationship is trust, so naturally, he’s confident that even if you don’t like him, it’s cool! No big deal.
• However despite this, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t get flustered easily.
• He wants a good time to actually tell you, instead of just blurting it out, and between the time when he develops feelings, and when he tells you, he acts very on edge and very flustered.
• He gets the worst case of butterflies, and he can’t help it! And because you guys are friends he can’t just say no to hanging out, especially when he likes you!!

• He gets a text from you?? You’re left on read. You see him in the halls??? He’s fucking RUNNING. You try to talk to him??? Sorry uh,, Ranstoner is calling
• He panics, he doesn’t process anything that’s happening. Every surviving brain cell in his head just dies on the spot, like he just doesn’t know what to do.
• He’ll immediately distance himself from you, but if you looked over at him, you’d see him staring at you with a look of both awe and seriousness. You’re just, so perfect!!!!!!
• He asks The Friends for advice, Kaito and Rantarou are NOT helpful, considering they’d just tell you on the spot, Kaede gives him good advice, but does Shuchi have the heart to carry it through? nah
• And even though he never asked, Kokichi would run and tell you for Shuichi, and Miu would totally start planning y’all’s “activities”.
• It’s incredibly obvious that he likes you, so confronting him about the issue isn’t hard… for you. For him, he’d probably just gush out a string of words saying his feelings and how he wants to do dirty things to you like hold your hand and love you unconditionally.
• if he’s rejected, he’ll apologize for the inconvenience and not speak to you for a few days. However he’ll reassure to you prior that you didn’t do anything wrong, and that he needs time to recompose himself.
• if you accept the boy, he’ll faint. Everybody is proud of Shuichi, but Shuichi is now left of “what now”. But despite his shaky demeanor, he’s a lot happier and less stressed as he was before.

Kiibo

• he knows what love is, but he’s yet to have experience it, so when his circuits start heating up too much, and he suddenly loses his train of thought, he instantly runs to Miu in fear of a bug with his programming.
• when Miu states everything’s fine, with a mocking comment about how he’s “getting way to worked up over you ;)”, he goes back like everything’s normal
• and naturally he’s like totally in love with you, but he doesn’t actually realize it?? So when his circuits get even hotter and he starts sweating and his motors start running on overdrive he goes back to Miu for another check, which she explains to him that the feelings he’s experiencing mean he’s in love with you.
• after what she said, he’d think about it for a while. Loving somebody as a friend is different than loving somebody as a partner, and he grew to feel embarrassed thinking about the fact that he loves you as a partner, he wants to be with you.
• after some thinking, he decides to go and tell you straight up, because you deserve to know.
• if he’s rejected, he’ll be pretty bummed, he’ll mope around for a day or two, but he’ll slowly learn to accept it and move on. He’ll tell you it’s okay that you don’t like him back, but he’ll still be on edge for a while
• If you accept him he’ll smile wider than ever before, and straight after ask “okay what now”. He will proudly hold your hand in public!!! He is so prideful, it’s unbelievable, but he’s a soft boy so everybody is happy for you two.

• O H. OKAY.
• He tries to play it off, be suave, and pretend that the comment doesn’t affect him but really??? He just died a little inside like what a compliment.
• He probably tries to compliment you back in a similar flirty manner but just stumbles until you tell him that you know what he’s trying to say and that you appreciate it.
• Like 3 days later in the middle of a normal conversation, without warning, he’ll look at you and just ask “okay but,,,, what kind of porn do i look like i act in???”

Kuzuryuu

• Externally he blushes a bit and kinda plays off the statement as if he isn’t effects.
• Internally?? “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!”
• Like he will be thinking about that for days and it gives him a boost in confidence for a while.

Gundham

• Hides under his scarf like his whole face you cant even see his eyes he just,,,, covers his whole blushy face.

• He looks at you like you’re insane for a second, but then he starts to smile.

• After everything is resolved, Komaru and Fukawa realize that they can’t just leave these kids all alone.
• Starting with Monaca and Kotoko, since they were in the building with them, they set out to find all of the kids in the destroyed city.
• I bet neither of them trust Monaca at first. Especially Fukawa. But Komaru manages to convince her that, yeah, she’s kinda a brat and has done a lot wrong, but she was a scared and confused kid who had to deal with Haiji, of all people.
• Fukawa finally agrees to take her with them, but constantly keeps a close eye on her.
• Kotoko is easy to convince to travel with them. After all, she had already tried to help Komaru, and she had been betrayed by Monaca. She needs a place to go.
• That being said, she doesn’t speak to Monaca much for a while. She’s still hurt by what was revealed and the lies Monaca told.
• The next person they find is Nagisa. Fukawa and Komaru are pretty relieved that they found him next since he’s most likely able to keep Monaca under control. Although he is weary around Monaca due to the whole, you know, kiss thing.
• That being said, he takes while to be convinced that Komaru and Fukawa are not the same as the adults he hated so much, and that the children of the city will not need a paradise of their own if they can be taken care of by someone who treats them with the proper respect they deserve.
• Nagisa easily becomes an older brother figure to Kotoko, and a little brother figure to Komaru.
• They actually find Jataro and Masaru at the same time.
• Things become very active and energetic with Masaru around. He has too much energy to handle. Komaru loses track of him so often, Fukawa has taken to finding him a lot. The two of them see it as hide and seek eventually. Masaru runs off knowing Touko will try to find him, and Touko times how long it takes to get him.
• The current record is when Touko caught him in only 1 minute and 17 seconds.
• Jataro agrees to go with everyone, but it takes a lot of time and help to get him to react with anything other than hatred when he is complimented.
• The kids are eventually brought to the future foundation with Komaru and Fukawa. Everyone knows who they are and is pretty weary at first, but everyone comes to tolerate them at the very least.
• Nagisa gets along with Togami with their similar personalities, but they don’t actually talk much. They just find each other as a nice break from the chaos around them.
• Asahina and Masaru absolutely love competing with each other. They are both filled with so much energy, you can find them running around playing tag quite often.
• Jataro and, surprisingly enough, Kotoko like to hang out with Hagakure. The three dont have too much in common,but they find his presence relaxing and fun to be around. Kotoko is still very weary though.
• Monaca doesn’t have a particular favorite to be around, but Naegi is usually the one most willing to watch over her.
• Overall, the kids and Touko and Komaru end up living together with the others stopping by often to babysit or just hang out.

• Nagito doesn’t even have to bring himself down for you to do this; you do it whenever you feel like it because you love him so much.
• Your wings are so soft, and the feeling of your feathers against Nagito’s skin soothes him instantly.
• He finds himself subconsciously petting your wings anytime he can.
• Sometimes your feathers accidentally brush against his nose and make him sneeze, but you think it’s super cute.

I know that I was pretty MIA during the last few months of 2021, and I’m super, super sorry about that. Writing honestly felt more like a chore rather than something I did because I enjoyed it…but my New Year’s Resolution is to write more, and I’ve been writing outside of this blog recently and enjoying it, so I think I’m ready for my grand return!

Kokichi is still my favorite DR character to write, so let’s kick off the new year with a Kokichi scenario! :D

What a year it’s been, huh? You took a sip of the drink in your hand, reminiscing on the past twelve months. There were plenty of ups and plenty of downs, but here you are at the end of the year, surrounded by all your friends. And while 2021 was pretty unpredictable, there was one constant in your life you would be forever thankful for, and who made the year a bit more bearable for you.

“Oh, s/o~!” Kokichi called. Speak of the Devil.

He ran up to you and wrapped his arms around your waist, clinging to you like a koala. You kissed him on the forehead. “Hey, Kichi.”

“God, it’s been a crazynight! I think I might’ve drank too much wine.”

You rolled your eyes, yet you still smiled a tiny smile. You played along. “Guess I’ll be driving you home, then.”

“There’s ten seconds left, everyone!” Angie exclaimed.

All eyes turned towards the clock. Kokichi let go of your waist, opting to hold onto your hand. You squeezed his hand gently. Ten seconds soon turned to five, and the whole room began the countdown.

“Five, four, three, two, one!”

While all your friends were cheering and wishing each other a happy new year, Kokichi took your face in his hands and slammed his lips onto yours. The kiss was short and sweet (most of his kisses were), but it still left you seeing stars.

Kokichi giggled as he broke the kiss. “Happy New Year, s/o!”

“I…y-yeah. Happy New Year, Kichi.”

God, you loved this boy.

• Weeks, perhaps. Months, if you will.
• Sayaka thinks they’re all funny, even the really bad ones she’s heard before.
• “Sayaka,” you call, “what did the dolphin say when he made a mistake?”
• “Hmm…” She rests her chin on her hand, thinking. “I don’t know, s/o! What didthe dolphin say when he made a mistake?”
• “‘I’m sorry! I didn’t do it on porpoise!”
• Let’s be real, that was one of your worst ones, but she laughs all the same.

❈ Maki Harukawa ❈

• This girl might just steal the cheetah cubs’ title of ‘Cutest Thing You’ve Ever Seen.’
• At first glance, you might not take her as someone who’s particularly fond of animals, but hey, she likes them better than children.
• The little animals like her, but Maki tends to lean more towards larger animals, like tigers, and lions, and bears (oh my!).
• She watches you nurture their cubs, maybe pitching in a bit every now and then.
• “How come your animals are so…well-behaved?” she asks.
• “Well, Maki,” you say as you give a brown bear cub head scritches, “they don’t call me the Ultimate Zoologist for nothing!”

• If he has nothing better to do, and if your boss allows it, he’ll come with you and watch you work with the kids. They seem curious about him.
• “Are you Miss (l/n)’s boyfriend?” a little girl asks.
• “Ah, yes, I am! What’s your name?”
• The girl stares at him. “Why is your hair so white?”
• “Kiki!” you exclaim. “Goodness, you can’t just ask people why their hair is white! Okay?”
• “…I’m sorry, Miss (l/n). Sorry, Miss (l/n)’s boyfriend.”
• “It’s okay, Kiki, we made it right. Why don’t you go and play with your friends?”
• You faced Nagito as Kiki gleefully skipped away. “I’m really sorry about her, babe. For the record, I think your hair makes you look even more handsome!”
• He chuckled. “Oh, s/o…you’re too sweet.”

❈ Sonia Nevermind ❈

• The kids at your daycare ship you so hard.
• To tell the truth, they didn’t actually know that you were dating.
• But they thought you’d make a cute couple, so they all worked together to get you two to confess in increasingly cartoon-ish ways.
• Some kids picked dandelions outside and gave them to you, telling you to give them to Sonia.
• They planned a fancy dinner for you both, fit for a princess like Sonia, complete with plastic play food and grape juice that your waitress spilled all over the table.
• And one time, in December, one of the children stood on a (very unstable) block tower and held a mistletoe above you and Sonia’s heads.
• Of course, they almost fell, but luckily, you managed to catch them before the tower toppled.
• Imagine all the cheers when you give your girlfriend a quick peck on the cheek,
• Now imagine the dead silence when you tell them you and Sonia have been together for years.

❈ Gundham Tanaka ❈

• If there’s one thing kids love more than ice cream, it’s small animals, and your boyfriend happens to have a whole menagerie of them.
• A few kids were a bit scared of him at first, but once they found out he had hamsters, they were all over him.
• They’re very curious about him, they never stop asking questions.
• “How did you get your scar?”
• “Why are your eyes two different colors?”
• “What are those bandages for?”
• “Did Miss (l/n) give you that scarf?”
• Most of their questions were answered, but you didn’t have the heart to tell them that Gundham’s scar is a tattoo and that he wears colored contacts.
• But the kids were too busy playing with the Devas to care. ^w^

• “Looks like he died while trying to drink this entire pool. Fucking idiot.”
• The whole ‘drinking the entire pool’ thing becomes somewhat of an inside joke among your fanbase.

❈ Kazuichi Souda ❈

• Everybody point and laugh at the scaredy cat.
• Except you wouldn’t do that, you love him. ^w^
• Kaz tries pretending he’s not scared so he can impress you, but you and your audience see right through him.
• He’ll leap into your arms at the first sign of danger.
• But if anyone in chat teases him for it, you make sure to tell them off, even if it’s only in a joking manner.

• You assure him that you know what you’re doing and it isn’t a big deal, but he still can’t help overthinking.

• If anyone on Earth needs a stuffed animal, it’s Nagito.
• He definitely likes the softer ones. But then again, who doesn’t?
• Lucky for him, practically everyone in your collection is soft. There’s Seafoam, Mango, Winter, etc.
• Nagito really loves Mango. He says he reminds him of his childhood dog.
• Since he’s said that, you’ve gotten a lot more dogs in your collection.

❈ Hajime Hinata ❈

• This man said that your teddy bear was cute once, and now his room is full of teddy bears that you bought for him.
• Something about Hajime just reminds you of them…maybe it’s simply because you love him so much.
• He’s not complaining, though. Seeing the bears sitting on his shelf or his bed makes him think of you.
• He isn’t very creative when it comes to names, so you come up with all of them for him.
• “And so he has been baptized before the Lord,” you say, clutching a small, brown bear. “BongWater.”

• Korekiyo is a great storyteller, constantly telling you tales of a ritual gone wrong in some far away land.
• But due to your short attention span, you always somehow just zone out while Kiyo’s talking.
• He tries keeping ramblings brief, but that doesn’t usually work out.
• You think it’s kind of cute, though.

❈ Rantaro Amami ❈

• Rantaro has a pretty long attention span, unlike you.
• He’ll sometimes tease you about it, but he never does it maliciously. And he’ll stop if it makes you feel bad.
• Rantaro will read up on ways to help you lengthen your attention span. Now, he carries gum with him everywhere for you.
• “I heard that chewing gum can help with your attention span, so you may want to keep some around you.”
• “What if it doesn’t work?” You tilted your head.
• “Hey, it can’t hurt, can it?” He gave you a peck on the forehead. “Remember to drink water, too. I love you.”

• Her hugs can get very tight, but that’s just because she wants to make sure you know how special you are to her.
• Cuddling, though, is a bit of a different story.
• She gets quieter during cuddle sessions. She really just wants to savor this moment with you.
• Ibuki always strokes your head as she sings you to sleep.
• She giggles quite a bit, though. You make her feel so giddy!

❈ Kokichi Ouma ❈

• Kokichi is the Ultimate Supreme Leader! He doesn’t frequently acknowledge life’s softer passions, unless it’s with a gibe or a sneer.
• That being said, cuddling with you is…nice.
• He often falls asleep during cuddle sessions.
• He’s big spoon no matter whether you’re taller than him or not. He insisted.
• He isn’t exactly sleeping, but he nuzzles the back of your neck as he tries to fall asleep.
• You smile. Kokichi seems to act like a different person whenever you two are alone.
