so what is Kingston and Garcias deal actually? their feud started as i was on a wrestling hiatus, can i get a recap?
Their feud started as kind of a silly little one off after Eddie lost to Punk at Full Gear. Garcia interrupted Eddie’s interview for no real reason, and then harranged him when he was getting cake.
During this angle, Eddie had a strange little affectionate “I will beat you up but I consider you my people” vibe with Garcia. It’s like he wanted Garcia to come to his senses and stop being a shithead.
There was some interesting triangulation where Jericho came out to help Eddie from commentary while 2.0 were giving Eddie the beatdown. Eddie rebuffed Jericho, telling him he wasn’t interested in him helping.
They played that angle of “will they // won’t they” (become allies) while they set up fault lines in the Inner Circle (then Jericho’s stable, consisting of Sammy Guevera, Proud & Powerful (Santana/Ortiz), and Jake Hagar). Santana & Ortiz were the first to turn, claiming the Inner Circle was mostly about stroking Jericho’s ego and they were being held back from being tag champs. Jericho claimed this was Eddie poisoning them.
This led up to Eddie facing Jericho at Revolution, which Eddie won. Jericho promised he would shake his hand, but at the event, he refused to do it.
So the Inner Circle fell apart and Sammy went off to do ….whatever that is, Jericho set up to reconcile with P&P, and then backstabbed them, turning heel to unveil the Jericho Appreciation Society of SPORTS ENTERTAINERS ft. 2.0 and Garcia (and still including Hagar).
Since then, and especially since Garcia was named in the original “would recruit for Blackpool Combat Club” list, Garcia and Kingston’s feud has kind of become more and more personal. The core Kayfabe energy is “Eddie is going to throw him in a sack and drop him at Mox’s feet as new shithead son” but tbh the “Garcia wants Eddie to Dom him” energy is also Quite Present. Anyways love that feud :“)

Since they’re the new guys they wanted to gain notoriety by targeting the ”3 baddest dudes on the roster“ and they’re Eddie, Mox and Darby. They attacked Mox and Eddie before the trios match.
So they have targeted Eddie from the start even before they interrupted Eddie’s interview with Tony Schiavone. It wasn’t exactly "for no reason”.
(Sorry I just find it funny how Angelo Parker said that Eddie did not last as long with CM Punk as Dani did.)
