Since Dirtboss was a character created specifically for Animated, a post of @iliterallydecepticanteven ’s has got me thinking. It’s the aftermath of season 3, the Constructicons are working on Earth to keep from getting arrested, eventually adding Bonecrusher, Scavenger, Hook, and Long Haul to their group. Dirt Boss still acts as their terrible foreman, and despite all the jobs they get hired to do, he’s just as bad as ever. The rest of the workers begin to grow closer, spurred on by Mixmaster and Scrapper’s friendship. There’s a whole episode’s worth of the team getting up to shenanigans together and bonding as a crew, only for Dirt Boss to barge in and start berating them all for slacking.
Then a sympathetic human (with somewhat poor explanation skills) suggests that they form a union. After explaining what a union is (“it’s like… you’re all part of the same thing. You protect each other! He can’t get to one of you if it’s all of you!), the Constructions enthusiastically agree!
What I’m getting at here is that they literally unionize against Dirt Boss by learning how to form Devastator, who then punts Dirt Boss into Lake Michigan.
YES. PUNT DIRT BOSS
TFA post-season 3 AU where the Constructicons are still on Earth and (somehow) getting along and they make the rest of their members so they have a full gestalt. But instead of trying to find and rejoin the Decepticons, they open a construction company in Detroit. On a technicality, they’re aligned with Earth and thus can’t be taken into custody by the Autobots. Their days are spent being hired for construction and demolition jobs, mostly working in conditions that are unsafe for humans, like demolishing buildings that have asbestos or lead in them and building underwater or in areas of high radiation. Their biggest concerns are OSHA showing up unannounced and fining them for violations and remembering to attended the monthly union meeting.
