no u don’t understand. imagine you and mikey taking care of emma & draken’s baby so they can finally have a day off parenting. mikey loves children and he’ll gladly spend the whole day playing and napping with his little niece/nephew, but he cannot take care of children for shit. the baby starts crying? he’ll start panicking after a while because what does it want?? is it hungry? is it sleepy? or worse- does it have a full diaper?
he can deal with feeding it baby food (even if it ends up creating a huge mess in the kitchen and on the baby) but no one prepared him for changing a baby’s diaper. sure, emma showed him how it works more than once but suddenly he forgot all about it and just looks at you with panic in his eyes. you consider letting him suffer for a while but u feel bad for the baby so u take over and take care of that poor child to finally make it stop crying.
mikey just looks at you with heart eyes while you calm the baby down, glad that u came with him.
once again thinking about uncle!mikey. him meeting emma and draken’s baby for the first time and just not knowing what to do with it because what does he know about babies??? nothing. so emma is trying to teach him how to properly hold a baby but mikey is struggling so much so she ends up scolding him, “it’s not that hard just hold your arms like this and take extra care of the head!! i swear to god mikey if you drop my baby the next thinking dropping is your-” but draken interrupts her to remind her that their baby is still present and although basically brain afk they should keep the positive vibes around the little human. as soon as the baby starts crying out of hunger or smth mikey panics and emma takes her child away from him to take care of it.
he might need a lot of practice but mikey is super excited to spend time with his little nephew/niece in the future.
