Alessandro Cattelan introducing Måneskin on XFactor Italy in 2017:

Alessandro Cattelan introducing Måneskin on Eurovision 2022 in front of the world:

I don’t think you realize how much Alessandro Cattelan is a national treasure and how we will protect him at all costs till the end of our days

I can confirm this is 100% true. Was talking to an Italian colleague about Eurovision today and after discussing Supermodel we talked about the rest of the show and he straight out fanboyed about Alessandro Catalan for like 10 minutes, going on and on about how great was. All ready to accept zero shit about about that man.

It’s true. Our treasure since 2002 ❤️‍

(he also has his own talk show…and I think as a society we should progress and broadcast it on a continental level)

everyone’s like “see ukraine won because of pity” … as if that was a problem. like the songs a banger but even if other countries felt bad for them and voted so???? your point being? the countries being destroyed and ppl die because of the war CANT they have at least a little happiness?? what’s so bad about that??? there is literally no other country that deserved that win more

QUOTE, QUOTE, QUOTE!!!!!!

Eurovision has been here for more than 60 years, it was here last year, it was here this year, it will be here next year and probably for the next 60 so CALM YOUR TITS, YOUR COUNTRY HAS PLANTY CHANCES OF WINNING.

Some people need to get back in check with reality, the shit they’re writing about Ukraine OVER A FUCKING SONG COMPETITION. SHIT BEING WRITTEN TO A COUNTY AT WAR FOR A FUCKING SONG…A SONG!!!!!!

Besties, you need to come back down to earth and look at the real problems, so sorry your favorite song didn’t win ‘cause European PEOPLE (‘cause it was the public vote in case you forgot) wanted to support artists from a country at war and who wanted to bring a bit of a distraction to their people from catastrophic times through music… “they made it political” BABE EUROVISION WAS BORN FROM POLITICAL REASONS, WHEN HAS IT NEVER BEEN????? (Plus Ukraine ALWAYS does well and it’s always a good contender for the podium so it isn’t as if they gave the victory to an awful random song ‘just because’…it was good, better than many of the other favorites)

Am I the only one here not surprised at all that Spain didn’t win?

I mean I knew it was gonna do well and it’s totally deserved, would’ve been a great winner but c’mon by now we should’ve learned that whenever someone gets labeled as the “sure winner” and it’s taken for granted …then it never happens.

Source: I’m Italian so I KNOW, TRUST ME!Måneskin were the triumph after years and years of being the favorites with no results

Already seeing a lot of insensitive comments online

I feel like this year overall was quite the downgrade compared to last year which was so full of iconic performances and songs with high quality productions. This year it was all a bit more bland and average, nothing too spectacular with the performers, there were only an handful of songs that stood out from the crowd for uniqueness and quality and Ukraine was definitely one of them (alongside Spain and Portugal in my opinion)

Of course I was rooting for my country but being realistic I didn’t expect for Italy to win a second time in a row so I’m happy for this victory. Let’s be honest, say whatever you want but it was one of the most memorable songs this year had to offer, it had it all from the cultural representation, the sound, the production, the performance, the native language, the catchiness, the visuals, the looks, Ukraine ALWAYS does well and always brings high quality contestants with no exception this year…Ukraine and Spain were the real contenders from day 1.

Not saying the other songs were bad but sadly I do feel like there was a lot of mediocrity this year, sorry to be harsh but I really don’t understand where the hell Greece, Sweden, the UK, Moldova and many more were coming from with all those points and praising, they had “ok” songs but nothing more than that.

Yes, it is an historic win and it’s stupid to deny it but doesn’t change the fact that regardless of the situation it was always one of the best songs and definitely a contender for the victory….quality music won, that’s it.

(And to be fair if you think this was done for political reasons only I’m pretty sure this is gonna do more harm than good…Europeans tend to easily get a “enough activism for today” vibe so I hope people understand that this is nothing more than a nice distraction but that nothing really changed overnight and this means close to nothing to what truly needs to be done)

Can’t believe this year’s final is only 16 minutes long

“Omg they’re queen baiting” “they seem so romantically involved” “they look like a couple”

Meanwhile Alessandro being 3 seconds away from committing murder to the little brother he never had and never asked for:

*Israel killing and persecuting thousands of Palestinians*

Eurovision: ‍♀️

*Israeli singer giving a kiss on the cheek to the host of the show*

Eurovision: Absolutely unacceptable behavior, YOU MUST BE PUNISHED AND DISQUALIFIED‼️❌‍♂️

Are you really European if you’re not having an Eurovision viewing party tonight???
