The prevailing thought - even amongst Italy’s contender Mahmood - is that the Ukraine will win as it sends a good message to support the country during wartime. We’ll just wait and see.

Mahmood & BLANCO’s fates will be decided tomorrow, but they’re riding the “Brividi” wave a bit longer: they’ve released a remix to their Eurovision entry.

-Last year’s winners Måneskin released a new single - the Max Martin produced “Supermodel”, which they will perform.

They will also perform a cover of Elvis Presley’s “If I Can Dream” which will be on the soundtrack to the upcoming ELVIS directed by Baz Luhrman (MOULIN ROUGE, STRICTLY BALLROOM, ROMEO + JULIET). The soundtrack - filled with Elvis covers - also features Doja Cat doing “Vegas” which samples “Hound Dog” and Kacey Musgraves who covers “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You.” Their inclusion was fated: Damiano and Elvis share a birthday.

Let’s hope Damiano David , who injured his ankle, and the group, who were rumoured to have been stuck for half-hour in a lift - have a grand time

It’s officially Eurovision week and today was the semi-finals round 1 jury show.

I felt it was a foregone conclusion that Italy’s act Mahmood & BLANCO would get to the semi-finals but they sounded rough at the rehearsals (I will blame it on the fact that they are both on tour and are tired) and just a smidge better at the jury show. Also, their staging isn’t great. I hope they make it.

If not, my support moves to Slovenia’s act LPS.

While the countries are readying to face their Eurovision fates, last year’s winners Måneskin are readying a new single: Supermodel, for release on May 13th.

I’m glad Mahmood and BLANCO are going into Eurovison 2022 with the right attitude. They don’t care if they win. They want to use the stage to gain followers to their music. They’ve won over Italy already.

I hope they gain an international following.

Run towards that fame, Blanchitobebe.

I hope post-Eurovision that they will occasionally release a song together. Their voices meld well.

In a bit under two months Europe (and Australia) will be crowning a new winner of Eurovision.

Yes, the tenure of the Loud Kids - Måneskin - is coming to an end.

We’ll always have Rotterdam Cat Dad! Damiano, Vampire Grandpa! Ethan, Sexy!Sister Vic and Gangly!Bro Thomas.

Don’t worry, they’re not fading away. They postponed a tour and have been hanging in Los Angeles for nearly two months - a situation that disappointed fans who had already bought tickets, flights and hotels. A few fans questioned their motives for postponing the tour. The official line was that the tour was on hold due to the rise of the Omicron variant and most venues were in flux; some fans believed they were recording new material in L.A. and choosing to hobnob with celebs.

Whatever the reason the tour is back on.

Taking stage for Italy in May will be Mahmood & BLANCO;

two solo artists (Alessandro Mahmoud and Riccardo Fabbriconi) who were put together to compete in the Sanremo Music Festival, and winning that, became Italy’s entry.

Their entry “Brividi”.

BLANCO was quickly signed to a record deal after the 2020 release of his Soundcloud EP “Quarantine Paranoid”.

Referred to as Italy’s version of Bad Bunny, like Måneskin, Mahmood was an X-Factor contender (albeit briefly). He previously won Sanremo, thus representing Italy in Eurovision in 2019, placing second.

Here’s an old interview with former UK Eurovision presenter Terry Wogan who reasons why the UK gets little to no votes. He puts it down to bloc voting - or, in this case, Eastern Bloc voting.

There’s a reason why this EUROVISION SONG CONTEST: THE STORY OF FIRE SAGA joke is so funny.

The UK aren’t doing themselves any favours by choosing entries like this 2022 entry.

Singer is superb. Song…not so much.

“Omg they’re queen baiting” “they seem so romantically involved” “they look like a couple”

Meanwhile Alessandro being 3 seconds away from committing murder to the little brother he never had and never asked for:

Not to be bias but CERTAIN eurofans saying Mahmood and Blanco are trying to queerbait over a ballad is so absurd, find something else to try and bring them down ‘cause it’s honestly embarrassing, JUST SAY YOU’D HATE FOR THEM TO WIN OVER YOUR FAV AND CALL IT A DAY.

They’re two of the best lyricist (+producer, shoutout to Michelangelo) we have in our country at the moment who just decided to work together for the Sanremo Festival and with the Sanremo Festival in mind only, nothing more than that. They’re two singers performing a song…you must be 12 to look at two people singing a ballad and by default assume they’re a couple happily in love, like WHAT? It’s a singing competition not a Disney Channel original movie. (nor a reality show for you to speculate over the performers personal life which is none of your business regardless)

And sorry but if you can’t watch two male artists looking at each other while performing a duet they’ve written together without thinking “are they in love?” or “ugh they’re trying so hard to appear gay” I HAVE SOME BAD NEWS FOR YOU: YOU’VE JUST WON THE MEDAL FOR TOXIC MASCULINITY AMBASSADOR, CONGRATS

I know we won’t win again but hope for mahmood and blanco to rank the highest possible
