Been playing a lot of Terraria with @dogfruit lately! I drew my character to celebrate us reaching hardmode - playing as a mage for the first time and having a lot of fun!

Mimics are tricky monsters that impersonate inanimate objects to trick their prey (you).

The classic mimic has the appearance of a treasure chest, and is often encountered in a dungeon– a suitably ironic trap as adventurers are literally consumed by the object of their avarice.

Yeenoghu is a Demon Lord worshipped by gnolls.

He looks like a giant demonic gnoll (hyena/dog people), and has a three-headed flail. He’s one of the pretty straightforward demon lords, interested in destruction and conquest.

Juiblex is the demon lord of slimes.

Known as the Faceless Lord, they rule over their own slimy corner of the Abyss. The Dungeons and Dragons multiverse is full of slimes, oozes, jellies, and gelatinous cubes, and Juiblex is the epitome and demonic prince of them all.

(I misspelled Juiblex as Jubilex earlier, as pointed  out by the eagle-eyed @thelonelyfront)

A Homunculus is an artificial life form created by a wizard.

This low level magical construct usually serves as a servant or familiar. The newest rulebook has a spell to craft them!

The Grell are awful tentacled brain horrors.

They come from a nightmare dimension called the Far Realm, like a number of the more alien monsters in D&D. Their body looks like a brain, but it’s just a weird coincidence? They fly around and eat people.

Faerie Dragons are small, dragonlike tricksters.

They’re goodhearted pranksters, with a euphoric breath weapon. The newest edition has their color and spellcasting abilities change with their age.

Cyclopes are brutish one-eyed giants.

They are often portrayed as uncivilized, without any culture of their own. I’m a fan of the Pathfinder take on them, which surmises that they ruled over a massive empire in the distant past, but have since lost their connection to this exalted history.

Driders are everyone’s favorite dark elf spider centaurs.

They’re classic monsters for Drow (subterranean dark elf) adventures. Driders are transformed Drow– a punishment from their mean spider deity.

Bullywugs are weird semi-aquatic frog people, I guess?

They’re one of at least 3 frog peoples in the game- alongside the treefrog-like Grippli and elemental chaos native Slaadi.

I don’t think I’ve got to Aboleth yet?

Aboleth are aquatic Lovecraftian abominations.

They enslave other races and draw on a vast racial memory. In some settings, they’re rumored to be older than the multiverse itself.

If you ask me everything gets better with dragons, mermaids and vampires gg.

Wothout the monster aspect: Dwarves and orcs.

Excellent additions. Noted <3

Phoenix always hypes me up. I also like a lot of folklore creatures like changelings, yuki-onna, and alraune.

I would also like to say that you reminded me that I have a huge encyclopedia of magical creatures, so thanks for that! ^-^
