Man it has been a while. But I’m excited for the @monthoffearart party that’s about to begin, so I’m back.
Here’s a drawing I did recently! Last month I read “Uprooted” by Naomi Novik and loved it (I actually read it twice in a week, it was great). This drawing is of the main character, Agnieszka. I really loved and identified with her story and character. And, y’know me, I’m a sucker for a Baba Yaga tale.
Here’s drawing I created for 23rd CSP contest. It was quite challenging for various reasons, but mainly because I almost never draw backgrounds, especially interiors. If you want to see some close-ups, check out my instagram
I decided to draw something digital for once because I found a different drawing program (Autodesk Sketchbook, it’s free and it’s COOL) than SAI which was. a giant pain in the butt for me and drawing anything took so long and looked kind of. weirdly flat in my style and I couldn’t make it work exactly the way I wanted. for some reason I thought that sketchbook is only for ipads and things (maybe it used to be only for ipads? idk) but it’s NOT and I couldn’t be happier because it’s really neat and the brushes are nice and everything makes sense as soon as you open the app, it’s easier to turn the canvas and zoom in. there’s so many nice texture brushes that work really nicely with my style (I could probably get the same textures in SAI but there would be much more fiddling involved than with sketchbook because the brsuhes are Right There) and I just really really REALLY love it and enjoy it and recommend trying it :D
