So, planned on posting art everyday this year, hehe, buuuut, demands on work have decided otherwise. So, I’ll post as I can. Anyway, been messing with Procreate a lot! Think im loving it even better the clip for the iPad! did this yesterday between work. don’t fancy myself as a colorist, but I plan to fit more in as time permits. Anywho, enjoy.

I am so excited to share that my piece Trainee on the Night Watch was selected to be included in Infected by Art Volume 10! This is the third year I’ve been able to have a piece included in this beautiful book of fantasy-inspired art, alongside some of my literal role models, and I’m really proud and happy to share the work I’ve been doing!

A new painting! Successfully finished to round out this year, that’s right, it’s Beka Cooper from Tamora Pierce’s Terrier, one of my all time favorite heroines! I’m still not 100% satisfied with the background, so we’ll see if I make any adjustments in the future, but I’m very pleased with the mess of characters I threw at myself! .

Finally finished: Ser Willimet Keswick and his faithful steed Lexington! Another one of my favorite characters from the Glass Cannon Podcast to round out your collection! I’m so happy to add Will to the lineup; what can I say, I love a nice lawful good character. Although I think of all of the characters I’ve done, Lexington may have been the most fun to paint! .

“You know Pocahontas. She has her mother’s spirit. She goes wherever the wind takes her.”

Wingapo! Here’s my version of the beautiful Pocahontas from the 1995 Disney movie “Pocahontas” ! I always considered her to be one of the prettiest and more unique Disney Princesses, I really loved that she had more realistic proportions in the original movie… and for that reason I always felt like I could never do her justice everytime I tried drawing her.

This portrait here took a few different attempts but I am happy with how she came out in the end! I hope that you’ll like her too!

I also listened to some documentaries about the real Pocahontas while I was working on this! Her life seems very interesting, I definately want to learn more about her now!

Today’s “Folklore Thursday” theme over on Twitter is “transportation” ~ and I was reminded of these wee tiny Baba Yaga Chicken Shack paintings I did last year for a show at @gristletattoo. 

“Baba Yaga in the Morning” is based on the comic/graphic novel I’m working on called Cicada Season. 

“Baba Yaga in the Evening” is an accurate picture of how I spend my evenings. 

(You don’t want to see a image of “Baba Yaga at Suppertime”. Eeek.)

“Silver” was the first in the current oval-portrait-graphite-witchy-babe series. 

I drew this right after reading “Spinning Silver” by Naomi Novik, mostly as a way to process my thoughts on the book and its characters.

Man it has been a while. But I’m excited for the @monthoffearart party that’s about to begin, so I’m back. 

Here’s a drawing I did recently! Last month I read “Uprooted” by Naomi Novik and loved it (I actually read it twice in a week, it was great). This drawing is of the main character, Agnieszka. I really loved and identified with her story and character. And, y’know me, I’m a sucker for a Baba Yaga tale.
