Unicorn Brick Stitch Pattern|Rose Moustache

So in my previous post I spoke about my new obsession, brick stitching! It all came about after I tried loom beading, then started to notice these other free-form patterns… colour me intrigued! Brick stitching can be a little fiddly, but once you get the hang of it you will be stitching beads and collecting Miyuki beads in a million colours… or maybe that’s just me?! Rose Moustache is the queen of Brick Stitching, and she has so many amazing patterns. I suggest you try an easy pattern likeher teepee first, just to get the hang of the technique, then on to something like this unicorn. There are lots of great tutorials on the web on how to brick stitch - if you’ve done Peyote Stitching before, it’s similar - and I promise you will become as addicted as me!

Glittery Shoe Fringes|La Petite Epicerie

If you follow my Instagram (emmakateyall for those who are interested!) you will know just how much I love brick stitching. In turn I have learnt just how much French girls love brick stitching, and how damn stylish French girls really are, and how I wish I could hire French girls to stitch up a whole new wardrobe of clothes for me! Sadly I doubt that my tax return will cover that, so I’m going to have to try emulating them on my own. I’m kind of really super digging these shoe fringes, and they’re such a quick and easy DIY to transform a plain pair of sneakers. Tres chic!
