Hi, I’m Scuba Steve! I love humans and attention from humans. I’m a sweet fellow but I should tell you upfront that I am FIV positive. FIV is a virus that only cats can get (it does not infect humans) and it is usually spread through cats biting or fighting each other. Eventually, it may make me ill but right now I am a healthy, friendly boy. I have no symptoms at all, but I should definitely go to a family that has no other cats or if you already have cats that are FIV positive, that could be fine as well! FIV positive cats can live for years and years without any extra medications or care. Just feed me healthy food and bring me for my regular checkups and I will be just fine! They say I might have a more difficult time finding a family but I try to stay positive. I’m a friendly, handsome boy and I know that I will find love. Come meet me and you’ll see for yourself!

If you would like to adopt this animal, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire on our website at https://www.carverscotths.org/adoption-application/ and one of our Adoption Advocates will follow up with you as soon as possible. 9/29/17 7:36 PM

MISS SMUDGE MENARDS

domestic shorthair * calico * female * baby * small * special needs - FIV+ * Purrsnickitty Cat Rescue * Faribault, MN

ABOUT MISS SMUDGE MENARDS

Hi my name is Miss Smudge Menards. If I was a boy I guess I would be called Groucho. My bday is estimated to be on 4/13/17. No my foster mom is not a professional photographer.I was observed at Menards in Dundas in the garden center area. They have a lot of birds in the rafters so I would set and watch them at nite when the store was closed. One morning I got caught sleeping on a bag of playground rubber ground cover and the lady offered me some food. You know them birds never flew down low enough to catch them.I only weigh 4 lbs and I get hungry. It only took me about 2 days to warm up to my foster home but when I figered out that my mom likes it when I roll on my back and stick my feet up in the air then we have been best of friends. She is funny. There is something about me that is kind of sad. I tested positive for FIV. This means that I cannot live with another cat.I would like you to talk with my Vet Eli at 507-645-5327 and get more info on my condition if you are considering adopting me.My fee is $190. tax included.

New kitty plush in the works! Please comment here with a name suggestion for her! The person who suggests the name that we pick will get a plush for free as a thank you.

Let me tell you a little about her so you can think of the perfect name. She’s 3 years old, she has different colored toe beans, she’s a little shy, and she’s FIV+.
FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. I have talked about FIV+ cats in the past, and now it’s time to have a plush to represent all of the FIV+ cats who are looking for homes! I will make some comics with this character to better explain FIV and what it means, but for now you can learn about FIV here: https://www.catchat.org/index.php/fiv

The plush for her will be available soon, as well as some other cool new stuff! I can’t wait to hear your name suggestions! :)
Winner will be picked September 3rd!
