Listen, I just wanted to try drawing Wittebro. I don’t know how this would work — maybe this is an AU where Phillip hasn’t yet re-enacted Cain And Abel with his brother when “Aunt Dirtrude” and “Luzura” (and Hunter for some reason) found the time pool to the past. (Feat. heavy implications that Wittebro married a Clawthorne)
Plus I can’t imagine he’d be too impressed by his brother’s “parenting”
[ID: a small comic of Hunter and Gus from the Owl House, after the events of Kings Tide. Hunter is wearing his normal outfit, and Gus is wearing a nasa t-shirt. Hunter is sitting at a counter top, zoning out with flapjack sitting in front of him. Somebody behind him with a blue speech bubble says; “Hunter!” and Hunter turns around. It cuts to Hunter and Gus, Hunter is waving and smiling a bit nervously, and Gus looks a bit nervous too. Hunter says; “Oh hey Gus! How are you feeling? The human realm sure is weird-” Gus cuts him off, looking a bit more tired, and says; “I know, I know what you are.” The last panel shows Hunter, leaning back looking horrified, his hand to his chest, as Gus continues; “I know you’re a grimwalker.”
Y’know, as jazzed as I am about Wittebro’s name finally being revealed as Caleb… that means I have to go back and edit all my Wittebro posts so I can find them later. I salute those brave souls who tagged him as Caleb Wittebane before this episode.
I did it after “Any Sport in a Storm” because as others pointed out Caleb fit the time period and area and even puritan background the Wittebane brothers came from perfectly and you can see Flapjack tell Hunter something right before he says that name. Flapjack, we know, was Caleb’s Palisman from the drawing of the two brothers in “Yesterday’s Lie” where we see a Cardinal perched on one of their shoulders and it definitely wasn’t Philip’s.
I’ve been reading everyone saying that Flapjack was the pallisman of Caleb(Belos/Philip’s brother), but I don’t think so. I think Flapjack is the pallisman of the woman Caleb fell in love with.
While we’re at it, despite the few images we have of that woman (a darkened profile and another with her back turned), to me she looks a bit like the Clawthorne family, plus the Clawthorne’s are the only ones with bird pallismans.
